I ordered Chicken mandarin, Shrimp fried rice, salted pepper chicken wings and fries cream cheese wonton a few hours ago and had a horrible experience. Fried rice was overly cooked and tasted so bad. It didn't taste like fried rice. The chicken mandarin made me sick. Brought it up to the manager but said "nothing" she can do about it and that it should be good. Wasted money today. I've always come here but NOT ANYMORE after being treated bad by the management. Last thing I want to do is ruin my day. I hope this review will make an impact so that their manager would treat customers the way they suppose to and not give concerns. Went to eat there on Tuesday, I think I got food poisoning. I ordered the chop Suey chicken and the first order was very salty and the gave us a new order and the chicken was bad you can taste it. Been sick for 2 days now. Eat at your own risk but I won't go there again. If they can service people spoiled chicken then they don't care about their customers. I ordered beef with broccoli and it should have only been called broccoli. I counted 25 big pieces of broccoli and very little beef . I mean I know I have gained weight but I really didn't need that much broccoli. We have loved MC for decades! I was so disappointed with the food and more importantly the service tonight. My husband called in an order for dinner around 7:30 tonight. It totaled about $90.00. My daughters went to pick up the order. When they got home we eagerly opened up the containers to fine 8....8 tiny salted pepper wings?!?! Come on? I remember when the container would be stuffed full. I get it, food cost has gone up but come on! So my husband calls back and the staff just tried to play ignorant. So they finally agreed to give us 4 free wings!!! So gracious of them... NOT! Here is the worse part... yes , it gets worse! My son goes down to pick up our wings and the staff just humiliated him and openly just treated him badly in front of the whole dining area. The Mandarin Canton is another decent location that serves tasty and crunchy salt and pepper chicken in the San Diego area, particularly in the city of Chula Vista. The parking is okay and it can easily get convoluted during peak hours especially on the weekends. The location is only ideal for a small group of people and may not be best for a party of 10 or more. Although the area is affording little or no extra room, its delicious and moderately priced food compensate for the minor inconsistencies. As previously noted, the salt and pepper chicken is the favorite and a must try when visiting this place. They are fried to a crusty golden brown and then twirled in a garlic, onion leaves, chili spices, minced garlic and pepper blend, which then becomes an obsession. The chow mein, fried rice and honey walnut all came with jumbo shrimp. Everything is tasty and flavorful. We have been coming here for years. This place it's amazing, very authentic Chinese food. The quality is amazing. It had such a great flavor . Anything you order iota pretty good and tasty. My family and I usually order the house fried rice which is all proteins pork chicken and shrimp. The chicken cantones, the noodles with shrimp, the beef and brocoli. And of course the vegetable rolls. The prices are very affordable for how much food you get. The portions are big. The place itself is very clean and neat. I went to this restaurant with my family and we all thought the food was absolutely delicious! We got the family dinner (number 2) and the salt pepper chicken wings. I genuinely enjoyed every bite of my food. The Mongolian beef and fried rice were my favorite! My family loved the wings! I was very disappointed with the rest the food tasted like if they had it ready for a long time and did not taste fresh . The honey walnut shrimp tasted very dry and hard. My first taste of chow mein from Woo Choo Chong when I was 4. The big fat noodles had a delicious mild flavor enhanced by the smoky wok flavor and the cabbage and chicken. How I looked forward to our shopping trips there... The bbq pork lo mien at Mandarin Canton reminds me of that first chow mein. The bbq pork was delicious, lean and tender. The fat noodles have a mild flavor and a hint of a smoky wok. The salt and pepper fried chicken wings were very crunchy and portion size was huge. Flavor like Golden Chopsticks but not as strong. I think they are a bit stingy with the msg. Also the wings were a bit on the dry side. Fried rice included with the entree didn't have meat or tasty flavors. There was some odd flavor I couldn't place. Note I usually don't like the free fried rice that comes with combo meals as they generally don't have meat to give it flavor.
