This review is for my bar experience (will be back for dinner next time!). I ordered the Watermelon Berry Sangria which was delicious and visually appealing. Charlie, one of the bartenders for the night, provided excellent customer service. Not only was he friendly and quick to make my drink, but he was knowledgeable about the food menu and daily night specials as well. Note: this establishment is still "Farmers Table" in the morning/afternoon and then transitions to "Acqua E Farina" as an Italian fine dining experience evening/nights.

Celebratory meal with the hubby today. We found this nice Italian restaurant in Chula Vista. I came across their page on IG. We had such a wonderful dinner experience. Our waitress was very attentive and their food was amazing. We can't wait to go back to try something else. * Fruttura di Calamari * Spigola * Prosciutto e Burrata #DiningWithTheAndersons #CiboItaliano #MANGIA #Churchiversary #Foodies

The food was absolutely amazing, and every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Our server, Charlie, made the entire experience even better with outstanding service. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we never felt rushed. This was one of the best dining experiences we've had, and we'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Acqua E Farina to anyone looking for incredible Italian food and exceptional service!

Salt with a side of Ragú

Should have went to the OG place across the street. My husband wanted to try this place out for his birthday, so we made reservations. The place was literally empty when we arrived, there were only like 4 other people there. The host and wait staff are really friendly and attentive, nothing wrong there. More people started arriving as the night progressed. We ordered PANE FRESCO, HOUSE SALAD, RIGATONI BOLOGNESE. The bread was amazing and unfortunately the highlight of our meal. The house salad was ok, interesting choice of flavors, we added chicken to it and the chicken was good. We had high hopes for the main dish because our waiter talked up a big game about how the pasta is fresh and made in house daily and how everything is authentic. The pasta was horrible, literally inedible. It was way undercooked, tasted like flour and on top of that the ragú was extremely salty. It was like we were eating salt with a side of ragú. The waiter was so nice so we didn't say anything, plus there were tables very close to us who hadn't received their meals yet and we didn't want to make a scene. So we just paid the bill and took the loss. Such a bummer, we definitely will not be returning.

I am always in the hunt for a carbonara that tastes like the one I tasted in Italy. I am excited to say that the Aqua E Farina's Spaghetti Carbonara comes pretty close! The texture is just right, not too saucy, it's rich and savory...it's just right. The taste of the carbonara takes me back to the streets of Trastevere. Our other favorite dish is the Prosciutto E Burrata pizza. The crust is thin and crispy but the pizza is filling. Aside from the carbonara, what really drew us in was the happy hour. They offer $5 off the appetizers and pizzas. Wine (including the sangrias) and beer are only $5 from Monday thru Thursday 4-6pm. Let me take a moment and talk sangria. I am not a big fan of sangrias because they are typically very sweet, however, the classic sangria here is the perfect balance. They even offer a watermelon and mango version. The restaurant itself is cute with bottles of limoncello and Aperol lined up as you walk in. The place can get a bit loud when eating inside but the quaint outdoor patio is a bit more intimate. The service is incredible. The servers tended to our needs and constantly checked in on us. One of the servers even reminded us that happy hour was about to end so we could put in another round of drinks at that price. If you're looking for a carbonara that reminds you of the tastes of Italy and a great sangria in the middle of the week, this is the spot.

Amazing tasting food & service. Charlie & Camilla were exceptional & helped me celebrate my birthday. The food is fresh & organic tasting, reminds me of Italy

Had a GREATTT experience here. The food was a 10/10 and the service was definitely on par. Our server was so friendly and sweet. I think the owner spoke to my friend and I and ensured the guests all around were doing ok. I had a really good time and will definitely be back. 100/10 recommend the sangrias and their cheese wheel that they had that night was to die for . The appetizers (bread and also the calamari) were good as well. Portions were not stingy at all lol. The place itself is really cute and you can either dress up or dress down. Just the ambiance of the place is really cute and also good for taking pictures

As beautiful as its name, Acqua E Farina is a quaint little Italian restaurant in Chula Vista. It was so delightful to enjoy our first real meal here while visiting. Greeted by beloved server, Sergio, it was a pleasant experience as soon as we walked in (thank you for Sergio!) They are dog friendly! And offer cute outdoor patio dining. Most importantly, their food. Their food is SO delicious. I chose their Cacao E Pepe pizza and it was so good! Chunks of truffle smothered in cheese and cacao e Pepe sauce. Thin sliced, but so buttery and flavorful. Hubbie opted for their chef special, black ink spaghetti with seafood. Man, it was delicious. Bread tray for $4 definitely worth it to get. They offer other tempting dishes such as porterhouse and branzino. We just may go back during our visit because we enjoyed it here that much. Bravo, Acqua E Farino!

f you are looking for amazing, authentic Italian food, this is the place to go. Every dish we tried at Acqua E Farina was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. Beyond the great food, the restaurant has a wonderful, cozy vibe that makes for a perfect night out. Highly recommend! Absolutely loved Acqua E Farina! The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is incredibly warm and welcoming, and the service was top-notch. It's easily one of my new favorite spots for incredible Italian food. I will definitely be back!!

We brought my whole family here last year for my wife's birthday and we recently came back for the last day of restaurant week. Both times everything was amazing! Service has always been great. They're knowledgeable about any questions we had. It's really cool to get to see where they're hand making the pasta too. We've tried to try as many dishes between our two visits as we could and it's all been effing delicious. I do t think you can go wrong with ordering anything off their menu. The cost is higher than most other places in the area, but you definitely get your money's worth. This place is booooomb!

Tried this place as one of the Restaurant Week options. There are some hits and misses. To start, the Pane Fresco is very good. Crunchy outside and soft inside. The what I believe is a cherry chili oil compound butter is very nice. Spice hits the tongue just right. I ordered a glass of wine to start and my glass was dirty. Just seems like dried food spatter from a dish washer. The waiter was very prompt with bringing me a new glass of wine. The 2nd glass didn't have food but it was very streaky. Wine glasses should be buffed, or at the very least checked for cleanliness before serving. For my meal I didn't choose the Restaurant Week special but instead got the Spaghetti Carbonara. I did rather enjoy this. It was what I expected it to taste like. We were a group of 3 and the others orders the Special. One got the Panzerotti and it was not for my taste buds. Very mushroom and spinach forward. I don't personally like mushrooms so I knew I wouldn't like it but since my other friend ordered short ribs and I don't eat beef, it was the only other thing I could try. They thought it was delicious, it just wasn't my personal taste. There was also an order of Polpette which is 2 meatballs. I did not try this either because, again I assume it was beef and I don't eat beef, but they didn't mind them. There may have been an inconsistency between the 2 meatball with one being more flavorful and juicy that the other but I think overall they thought they were fine. The dessert options on the menu were a chocolate chip or pistachio cannoli. My friends asked for Pistachio but there were out and instead had strawberry. The cannoli was sad. The filling wasn't a fluffy texture but more of a runny cream cheese type texture. It did not fill the space of the shell like you'd expect but rather poured out. The shell is very crunchy. May be a little too crunch. Slightly overcooked. I only had wine but the others tried a couple of the drinks on the menu. Some were good and some were not to their liking. The seating is divided into 2 sections sort of. There's the section where you come in that have some seating and the bar and you can see the kitchen, then you pass that and there a back area of seating that's not very exciting. The decor is minimal but the overhead lighting it interesting. The waiter was very nice and attentive. There was also a young lady who came around and asked to take our picture and came back with a free single print. I think there were buying options for additional photos but we weren't interested. Collectively my group rated the experience a 3.5-4 stars so I rounded up. This place isn't bad. The food isn't bad. Attention to detail is my concern. Dishes should not be dirty. I would try this place again and see what their other menu items are like.

My son recommended this Italian restaurant from coworkers and it was an amazing dinner experience. We ordered our beverages : waters/soda/beer and the house red wine perfect pairings, It came out fast! Next food - I literally loved the Caesar's salad and roasted beet was delicious and fresh ingredients. Entree: The steak called Bistecca Florentino was so flavorful so delicious, and tender it melts In your mouth it was medium rare -perfection. We also ordered the cheese wheel pasta it was fun to watch of how they make it. It was creamy, so delicious with veggies n Italian sausage. We enjoyed it. I posted a video of it. Overall we loved everything and the service was impeccable. Charlie our server he's also a bartender super nice n knowledgeable. 5/5 thumps up! This restaurant location same as the Farmers table they're sharing the space free parking at d back. We will be returning soon to try other foods in the menu. But the steak n cheese wheel pasta must order!!!! Ciao! Must visit this restaurant highly recommended;)

It's just enough food for one and gives you a sampling of different menu items. The Korean-style wings had good flavor and just the right level of spice, though I wish they were a little crispier. The sliders were straightforward -- nothing groundbreaking -- but well made and satisfying. Fries came out crispy, which I always appreciate. My wife had the poke nachos, and those were the sleeper hit. I was skeptical about the pico at first, but it actually added depth and balance. The sauce tied everything together nicely. There was no acknowledgment at all, which made the occasion feel overlooked. To make matters worse, on a Friday night they were out of all draft beer, which was surprising for a restaurant and bar that promotes its tropical cocktails and lively atmosphere. Dessert was the biggest letdown. The mango sticky rice was honestly one of the worst versions we've ever had--poorly prepared and lacking flavor. The chocolate cake was so dry that it was practically inedible. The tropical décor and hidden tiki speakeasy "X" are interesting concepts, but the poor service and disappointing food overshadowed what should have been a special birthday celebration. Parking shouldn't be an issue, they have spots in the front but then there's the big garage right behind it, and it's free. There's also street parking but you might have to pay. The place itself is very spacious and clean. They also have an outdoor patio for dogs. I do know later in the evening it gets louder and more like a club vibe, but it's not bad. Service was perfectly fine. I had no issues at all. Staff greeted us with a smile when we walked in. They were always checking up on us when we needed things. No issues at all. I thought everyone was doing their jobs. Happy hour is so worth it here. $1.99 tacos! I had the carne asada, birria and Chicharonnes tacos! While the meat portions look small, y'all need to realize this is happy hour street tacos! Adding some salsa from the self serve bar, it was so worth the price. We had 11 tacos, cheese nachos, 2 beers and 1 margarita and it was about $50! So worth it! I highly recommend Kalaveras for Mexican food. Great vibes. Great happy hour prices. I think this place is good for large groups also. It may not be kid friendly later into the night but it's very worth it!

The brunch buffet is definitely worth the price. The food was excellent, the service was attentive and fast and the music and indoor area was cool. I can't wait to be back in San Diego to have brunch at Kalaveras again. Authentic Mexican food, friendly service and great vibe.

There's cool Mexican art on the wall and table was clean and wiped down. There's not too big of a menu and what they have is made really well. The chips and salsa were good. I like how light the chips are. The free salsa had more and better flavor than the red, but both are good. I got El Bàsico burrito and it was like how I used to eat it growing up when my parents would make it for me. I asked for a side of the poblano salsa they use for the chilaquiles and it was so good! It became with a side of plain crema. I left full and happy! My wife got a Quesataco with a side of frijoles and papas. The taco had a lot of meat and was super tasty. They gave you a small side of consume and that didn't disappoint either. The papas didn't have too much flavor but were nice and crispy. The beans were my wife's favorite. They have a slight kick and bomb flavor. I'm glad to have this place in our neighborhood and I look forward to coming back again!
