Wow. Ordered delivery on a whim for my family this Easter evening. It was all so good! Fresh, hot & delicious. The food left me feeling light - not like I just gorged on Chinese. In hopes for some quick delicious take out I was extremely disappointed by this restaurant. We ordered the chicken with mixed vegetables and brown rice, miso soup, and the vegetable lo mien. Here are my thoughts. Delivery: The food came in the correct time frame. There was no issue with timing or breakage. All items were also delivered that were ordered. Packaging: everything was safely delivered in plastic to go containers that we can reuse. Soy sauce and duck sauces were provided. Food: This unfortunately was their biggest downfall. The chicken we ordered came almost paper white. It also had a strangle gelatin kind of texture which was super gross. In the picture I have of the chicken I drenched it in soy sauce to help the flavor. The vegetables were ok. The rice was somehow over cooked. My vegetable lo mien looked disgusting quite honestly. It was sad, soggy, and the flavor was below average. Overall I was not a huge fan of this place. I will attach pictures of my orders below. Quite honestly I would recommend instead the restaurant Asian Taste as an alternative. It has good food for good prices. We ordered from their lunch menu for first time. My husband had the kung pao chicken. The chicken 'meat' was dubious and he took all of it out. Said the vegetarian fried rice was ok. My wonton soup broth was strangely reddish and greasy. Expected a pale yellow. Discarded. The meat inside was indeterminate. The shrimp in my lo mein were the size of my thumbnail so seemed safe enough. The lo mein itself was heavy and thick. I ate a bit of my pork fried rice. We won't be back but I'd advise being safer and sticking with vegetarian. read more

Lucky me, this is my local Chinese place! Fresh, not too greasy. Really good egg rolls. Lots of beef in the beef and broccoli, and the meat is always tender, not chewy. The interior decor leaves something to be desired, but who is going to eat at the restaurant anyway? A warning: I have had problems with order accuracy. Do not trust their delivery of 45-60 minutes. Ninety minutes! I called and asked the woman if she would call the driver and get an ETA, she said she would and call back. She did not. The food was not warm, the brown rice pasty and bland. The pork and broccoli had more sauce than necessary, the space could have been filled with more meat. Best fried rice I ever tasted! Rich brown color, saucy taste and plain is offered as an option if you don't like meat and veggies in your rice. Pot-stickers were not oily and priced right for an 8 count portion. Sesame noodles look a bit on the messy side, looks like day old pasta. 10.00 min for delivery but 20 bucks can fill you for at least 2 days. Delivery was kind of a botch. He arrived after 30 mins which was great because i was informed a minimum of 45 mins. But... He wouldn't stay in one place when i tried tracking him down to pay him, he was a bit on the crazy side and he made quick delivery an issue. As long as the delivery issue is resolved i can say i will be a long term customer... if they can get the things i like right. It's the small things that mean the most sometimes. read more

The person who answered the call understood me well and took the order correctly. Within 20 minutes the order was ready for pickup. It was extremely well packaged for carry-out. Absolutely awful service. I ordered almost two hours ago and just got my food. at 1hr 20 min, I called and whoever answered was unsure of the status of my order and said they were very busy. Offered no discount, coupon, or anything. I wanted to cancel the order but she said the driver was already in the way. I've been hoping that Mandarin Taste would be THE takeout place for our family. It's within walking distance of home, and usually has delivered good if not memorable dishes, like a variety of tasty and plentiful Lo Mein choices. A 3-star rating was on the verge of becoming a 4-till this week. Thai spring rolls last night were surprisingly light and flavorful. Mushu chicken was also better than average, though the pancakes looked and tasted processed. The biggest disappointment was a beef and broccoli dish in which the "beef" was actually inedible: all fat and gristle, and with no taste. I won't risk having any beef dish at MT in the future. If it was an indication of the overall quality of the food they're preparing, we'll have to reconsider a return trip to MT in the future. read more

New to the area and with that in search of a new Chinese restaurant - one that has vegetarian options and peanut safe practices. After some searching we decided to give Mandarin Taste a go, and a quick talk with a manager before ordering set our minds at ease in regards to peanut policy. We ordered the General Tso's Tofu along with our "standard" eggplant with garlic sauce. Decided to go with carry-out and food was ready in about 20 minutes and everything was correct. The eggplant with garlic sauce is slightly different than what we are used to, but in a good way. Instead of being all eggplant, there were a variety of other vegetables in the dish including some fresh carrots and broccoli. The General Tso's Tofu was also amazing, great rich sauce with a hint of heat. The tofu was well cooked, firm on the outside with an almost caramelized crust and nice and soft on the outside - much better than the standard pre-cooked fried tofu tossed in sauce. This dish also came with some fresh broccoli, which seemed to be steamed and then added in. Only change I would make is to the portions, essentially we wound up with way too much rice and not enough sauce. Everything tasted amazing the night of, but the lack of sauce in the dishes resulted in some slightly dry leftovers, but nothing a little vegetable stock couldn't fix! read more

My son's favorite Chinese restaurant by far. We live in Hunt Valley but have to drive all the way down there for his shrimp lo mein. He says it has a smoky flavor and you can tell they actually stir fry it. He also says the kitchen is clean. Five stars for food!! Best Chinese American food in Baltimore hands down! And they've expanded menu to include Thai and hibachi. My tofu sambal was unbelievably good- crispy-chewy tofu, tossed with soft, rich eggplant, crimini mushrooms, onion, green pepper, bok choy, flavored with anisey fresh basil and a rich, slightly spicy chili based sambal sauce that had deep umami from shrimp paste; little jolts of sweet from rock sugar was topper!; my wife had perfect Hunan shrimp- veggies and shrimp greaseless and crisp; black bean sauce tang, just enough to coat and enhance; my sons pad Thai was rich and peanutty, full of egg and shrimp.. Mmm.... Only 4 because though you can eat in this is truly carry out. While clean most of the former dine in restaurant space is used for storing soda; also no hot tea, and you have to eat out of carry out clamshells. That said- service very friendly! read more
