We went on a Tuesday and come to find they only do hot pot and a small amount of appetizers. We weren't planning on getting hot pot but decided to give it a try. We had a great time and it was excellent. The heat level is not quite what one would expect, medium was fire breathing dragon hot. My husband could tolerate it, I could not. Luckily we also ordered original broth. The quality of meat was excellent and the sauce bar was great. We also had crème brûlée for dessert which was delicious. We will definitely be back. Finding a restaurant that serves REAL Chinese food in Tulsa is so hard to do (If anyone calls P.F. Chang's real Chinese food, prepare to be slapped), so when I finally find one, I am all up on it. I ate here for lunch with my mom and her friend. We ordered 3 dishes for under $30 total: - Szechuan chicken: When I first saw the chicken was covered with bright red oil and dried chilies, I was afraid this dish would make my mouth feel like it was on fire. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It was only slightly spicy and since the chicken is served cold, it helped to cut the heat. - soy sauce Chinese sausage fried rice w/ lettuce wraps: The fried rice was good. Definitely get this if you like Chinese sausage. The lettuce was pointless - the leaves they gave us were from the inner part of the lettuce head, so you couldn't wrap anything in them. Just eat the fried rice by itself. I don't know why they even include lettuce. - stir-fried rice noodles with beef: Well flavored and not too greasy. I plan on going back to try more - especially the pigs feet, which is apparently only served on Mondays (Yeah, this is a legit Chinese restaurant)!! read more

Ordered $65 worth of carry out tonight online. Was told it would take an hour, which is crazy, so I showed up at the 30 minute mark. The place was dead, only two or three tables full, so I thought for sure my order would be ready. I was told it was not ready yet and to take a seat. 20 minutes later they asked me my order number again. Turns out, it had been setting on their carry out shelf all along. If you look for Americanized Chinese food, this is not a good choice for you. This restaurant offers very decent authentic Chinese cuisine in a home-like atmosphere. If you speak Chinese or you look remotely like Chinese, they will give you an all-Chinese menu. We ordered two dishes: fish and tofu, and beef and asparagus. The fish and tofu was more like fish cubes and tofu in a sauce. It was delicious. But there is nothing to wow you. The fish was fresh and tender, but a bit plain. The tofu was fine. Since the sauce was not too salty, you may take it as a fish and tofu soup. The fried beef and asparagus was more flavorful than the fish soup. The black pepper seasoned beef was especially savory and nicely fried. But I would prefer less oil. It seemed to me a bit too greasy. The service was quite good. We liked our waitress, who was attentive and attractive. They have quite a menu. The decor was quite Chinese with red lanterns hinging from the ceilings. Food is fairly priced. I would recommend if you want to try authentic Chinese food. I would actually give a 3.5 star rating. PS: The location is not quite visible from Sheridan. What a great spot to go for dinner.. we went at 5pm weeknight.., this place had a nice atmosphere and our waitress was so cute , happy and friendly that we felt relaxed right away. The food was all very fresh and good... we had chicken cilantro which had a small amount of kick to it.., also, chicken with pineapple .., so so yummy.., and the sesame chicken excellent! I am one that wants all food brought at one time and so they ask you if you want that OR brought out hot as it's cooked...I am a bit confused as to why they cannot keep everything hot in the back and then bring it out but anyway we opted for bringing it out hot , one thing at a time... when we go again, I will be changing that part. My Sunday lunch friends and I settled on Mandarin Taste, after discovering another local restaurant would not be serving dim sum, as they are leaving for vacation this week. From reading other reviews, we settled on Mandarin Taste, because they appeared to have dim sum options, but ordered from a menu. After our drive across town, I was hungry! The restaurant was not much to enjoy visually and it took them a while to ask for our drink orders. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were told to have a seat anywhere we like. When we ordered, we were informed it would take longer for certain items, but they would be brought to as as ready, thank goodness, because I am sure my friends were tired of me announcing how hungry I was. We received the Garlic Bok Choy and the Tomato Egg Drop Soup first. The bok choy was as expect with any bok choy, and I love it, every time. the Tomato Egg Drop Soup was my favorite. I would have been happy just having the soup. It was warm and comforting on a rainy Sunday, the flavor was complex with a hint of sour and sweet. We then received the Pan Fried/Seared Pork Bun. This was my second favorite item we ordered. It was everything you expect from a pork bun, but the pan frying added another dimension in texture and flavor. The part that surprised me, is that their dipping sauce that accompanied it, tasted just like the dipping sauce I make at home. So, of course I love it! The chive cake and snow flak I could go either way on, I probably would have liked them much more, if I did not love the tomato egg drop and the bun so much. We ate at Mandarin Taste while in Tulsa for a concert. It is a beautifully decorated restaurant. The staff was helpful and very pleasant. The service was excellent and the food tasted great. The food was hands down the best I have had. Orange Chicken and Sesame chicken were delicious! The atmosphere was really nice because we could chat and it still kept that professionalism. Our server was amazing. She was fast, got our order out correctly and when we left our takeout food inside she went out of her way and ran it out to us. We have heard the buzz on TikTok about this place and thought we would try it out. We were extremely disappointed! The staff was very friendly, but the food was mediocre at best. Our dim sum dumplings were extremely fishy smelling, the egg drop soup was good, best thing we had. We ordered Kung pao chicken, orange chicken, chicken fried rice all was decent, kind of what you would expect from Pei Wei. Orange chicken came out first, five minutes later this chicken stirfry came, five minutes after that the Kung pow chicken arrived. Nothing we ordered came out hot, everything was luke warm, which always makes me squeamish. Very strange interaction upon arrival. They didn't know how to sit a party of 5? Super sunny out and no blinds so is you go during daylight hours prepare to wear sunglasses. This is my first experience with hot pot. I must say, i really did enjoy the whole hot pot experience. I went with a party of 11 people. 6 of us decided to try the hot pot and the other ordered other dishes. The whole group ordered together. Everyone who didn't order the hot pot got their dish at a timely manner. Those dishes were all delicious and flavorful. The hot pot came out when our group were halfway done with their dishes. So we were stilling eating our hot pot while the rest were waiting on us. We got the half and half with a spicy broth and a regular broth. The spicy broth was good but i wish it was spicier. For the price you're paying for the meat, they are generous with the portions. It's not an AYCE so you'll have to order the meat/noodles/veggies individually. There is no sauce bar like how I've been hearing about other places so you'll have to order dipping sauce as well. All the meat are sliced thinly so it cooks in matter of seconds. If you try the hot pot, you must try the lamb and tripe. I think the hot pot was good but i am ready to try other places. So why 3 stars? The service was not so good. Usually at restaurants, you'll know who your waiter/waitress is. Here, i have not idea. The waiter and waitress came by to check up on us only when we flag them down. They only came by once when we didn't. We got our water refilled only when we asked. We were not given napkins so i had to asked for it. The waiter brought us probably enough napkins for 8 people when we had 11 people. I had to ask him to bring us more right away. Before coming here, i would read reviews that service here was hit or miss. It was a miss on this particular day. Although service can improve, I do think the food was delicious. Everything tasted fresh and was piping hot. The hot pot was good. The meat selection was good and portions are generous. I would recommend this place but go in expecting service to be mediocre. Bottom three restaurant services I've ever experience. Was seated for an hour and a half and never received my food. The other people I was seated with slowly got their food about ten minutes apart. Hot a Sour soup was alright nothing to boast about, have had worse. The waiting staff was not super busy but offered no explanation as to why they never brought my dinner. When I asked for Togo boxes was the first time they mentioned still wanting my food(after the hour and a half). I told them no. Check was brought and dropped off never an apology as to why I never got my dinner. Never offered to comp my drink whole waiting. Will never go back, highly suggest everyone that decides to go- take entertainment for your wait. Visited the new location at 91st & Sheridan. Our group was informed we could not order any alcoholic drinks because they DON'T HAVE A LIQUOR LICENSE! The edamame we ordered as an appetizer was cold and soggy and had to be taken away. My wife and I split the orange chicken with fried rice. It was average and similar to what I get at Pei Wei. The fried rice was bland. When I seasoned it with the on table soy sauce, it was rendered inedible because of the high salinity of the soy. At the end of the meal, they brought a replacement order of edamame, after we finished eating - curious timing. The other dishes at our table looked and were reported as good. We sat in the back room and atmosphere was good. Would be willing to try again on a take-out basis only. read more

Just ok for us. We had Szechuan chicken, dumplings with oil, cheese wontons and combination fried rice. Chicken was very dry, bland and tasteless. Out of this world food. Definitely does not feel like you are eating in Tulsa. We all tried something different and everything was delicious from the tomato egg drop soup to their smoothies. The reason for my 3-Star Rating is NOT based on the food at all or that would be a FIVE star. It took 10 minutes for us to be greeted and another 10 to get drinks and a menu. I finally flagged our waitress down to order after another long while. It took about 40 minutes for us to get our food which came out one dish at a time and the apps and soups came out at the same time or even after our main course entrees. My $5+ smoothie drink was only filled half way after the foam went down. I would recommend this restaurant. The food was so great but go in knowing what you want when you sit down and order. The ordering process is non effective and cost me lunch with my wife after not even being asked if the order had gone through by the waiter, because you are supposed to order from your phone. I hit send order the way it said, but when my wife's food came out, mine was no where to be found. I waited, thinking it would be out shortly, even though it wasn't addressed at all, and still... no food. Only table in the restaurant by the way. It does not look that appealing on the outside so I was surprised when I saw how beautiful it was on the inside. The service and food was also great. The servings are huge. I was there with my siblings and some of their friends and we could share one dish between the 7 of us. We ended up accidently ordering about 20 dishes because we did not know how big the servings were. Definitely my favorite Chinese resteraunt in Tulsa.
