It's so disheartening having to make this review because this is truly some of the best Chinese food in town. However, I've now had two different occasions where I haven't even been able to eat my food due to my seafood allergy. A few months ago I ordered cheese wontons, as I always do, and they were crab. I didn't complain or anything, I understand things happen sometimes. But just the other night I ordered chicken lo mein, as I always do, and there was shrimp in the lo mein. I'm extremely cautious when eating at restaurants that serve fish/seafood thank God, and had I not picked at my food before eating it I may not even be here to leave this review. The food was fresh, flavorful and priced fairly... 10 cheese wontons for $3.50, egg rolls ~$1, entrees about $9 each. We had the shrimp in lobster sauce, Szechuan beef and sweet and sour pork + a couple of egg rolls....way too much food...but sooooo good. So here's the caviat...don't come here for a fancy building, incredible decor....nope. Insides doesn't look like it's been touched since 1980. They weren't open for seating, but they let us eat, and another group from out of town who left after eating absolutely raving about the food! In search of a new Chinese food place to try we I chose Wok Wok and was not disappointed!! I did a walk in order and picked from their menu Subgum Fried Rice Beef and Peppers Beef Lo Mein Orange Chicken Pork Egg Fu Young and some Egg Rolls. Everything was cooked fresh and was piping hot when I got home. The service was friendly and the wait was only 15 minutes. The inside reminded me of my favorite Chinese restaurant back home in Los Angeles with a fish tank filled with pretty fish swimming around. When it finally got to us they gave us one wrong entree, we asked for the C10(sweet and sour chicken) but they put down C9(shrimp lo mein) we called to get everything fixed and the guy answers and we try to tell him what was going on and he kept talking over us, telling us that we said the wrong order and told us to send the menu to a number. Well we took a picture and sent it but it wasn't going through, so we called back and it was a lady. The lady did the exact thing the man did. At first she wanted us to drive to pick up the order, then she wanted us to keep the food and buy another entree (like people are made of money!) then she finally agreed to send the driver with our correct food and for us to give the wrong food back to the driver. Honestly the food wasn't good for all the trouble and money, the rice was way over cooked, the lo mein was soggy, the sweet-and-sour chicken and sesame chicken were just soggy and just not good. My go to Chinese food place for work. I love the Moo Goo Gai Pan, it tastes very fresh and has better chicken than some other places. They also have the freshest fortune cookies. I ordered two shrimp fried rice and chicken teriyaki from this place. The shrimp fried rice had no flavor and the rice was undercooked. The rice also didn't have any egg, green onions and the other veggies that typically come with shrimp fried rice. The chicken teriyaki was undercooked and in addition was flavorless. I ordered delivery from here a couple hours ago. The service was on-time (45 minute wait), and the food was as expected. There is a TON of it as well, so you could probably split one dish between two people very easily, even if you never touched the rice. I had General Tso's, my partner had Veggie Lo-Mein (both ~$6). Their Tso's runs sweeter than I'm used to, and not as spicy as I would like, but it's still good Chinese nonetheless. The driver and the phone operator were both friendly as well. I ordered carryout tonight from this place and I really wasn't impressed. As I walked in to pick up my order, a delivery driver just stormed out the doors as I was opening them. He didn't look at me or at least thank me for holding the door open for him. My order was about 15 mins late which isn't a huge deal, but still. I paid and walked out with my order and drove home and was really disappointed in the food. My chicken fried rice was very bland so I had a few bites then couldn't finish it. My kids did seem to enjoy the sweet and sour chicken and lo mein noodles. I probably won't be back though. read more
