Our take out Chinese food go to place. It's typical Chinese food, good and fast. Haven't tried more than there sweet and sour pork and chicken and sesame chicken but everything is very consistent. The lady is very nice, and they never ask or make you push a button for a tip. So I appreciate that. She has even told me not to place orders online if I'm picking it up, because there extra charges though grub hub or dash whatever places. This place is not bad. Just know what to expect. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how quickly the order was delivered. It did not take as long as they said it would. Also I have NEVER had food delivered and it arrived hot enough to actually burn my mouth. That's how fast and fresh it arrived. This impressed me because I order takeout or delivery a lot, and this does not happen often, if at all. But the food was so-so. Not a whole lot of flavor but they dont charge much at all. The lady was sweet, I had called in and I picked up my food literally 2mins before they closed. I was also short on cash but she was so kind and professional, told me to take the food even though I was a dollar short. I was able to get some cash from my car afterwards and give it to her. The food however was really tasteless, no flavor. I got the chicken lo mein and the beef chow mein. The lo mein plate was weird, I got both chicken lo mein and fried rice. I am a fan- typically it is our go-to delivery place. After trying various other Chinese delivery in our area, we concluded this is the best around. They are usually friendly on the phone and the delivery guy is really nice! In all the times we have ordered they have never got our order wrong at all. This is always frustrating when it occurs for delivery but fear not- Mandarine Chef won't let that happen! We usually order the Sweet and Sour Chicken Combo + Teriyaki Chicken Combo and an order of Crab Rangoons. There is always too much to eat, definitely more than enough for 2 people! It isn't super flavorful but it is always tasty. The egg rolls are delicious and always crunchy. Recently, we tried the spring rolls and they are great! The only issue we have it is sometimes too greasy; it is fried food though, so not too shocked by it. Also, I would suggest filling up the Rangoons more. Sometimes, there is hardly enough inside to even be considered as "filled". Overall, for the price I would say it is a good option for a lazy day at home. I had gotten a menu from the Mandarin Chef on the mail a few days ago, and on Dec 23rd 2014 I decided to give it a try. I ordered #129; sweet and sour shrimp, and an egg roll on the side for delivery. It looked pretty good when I opened the packages, although it looked very greasy. Since I was hungry and I had already paid for it, I ate it. The flavor was OK, there was more fried coating than shrimp and the sauce was regular sweet sauce. Bad, bad idea, I got food poisoning from the shrimp. Fever, vomit, diarrhea, you name it, the whole 9 yards. it has been 10 days and I still can't recover. I don't know if it was the food being bad or the sanitary conditions it was prepared in, since it was delivery I didn't see the restaurant. Either way, it is unacceptable. I will never ever order from this place nor will I recommend it.
