Fortune Chinese Restaurant May 31, 2026 Unfortunately, this wasn't a restaurant that I would return to. The hot and sour soup was very good and was easily the highlight of the meal. It had great flavor and was the one item that met expectations. The rest of the food was disappointing. The egg rolls had an unusual taste that neither of us enjoyed, and the cashew chicken and rice tasted quite different from what we're accustomed to at most Chinese restaurants. While I understand that every restaurant has its own recipes and approach, the flavors simply didn't work for us. I always try to give restaurants a fair chance, but based on this visit, there wasn't enough to make me want to come back. The hot and sour soup was excellent, but the rest of the meal fell short. Fortune Chinese Restaurant is family owned and has been serving delicious Cantonese and American Chinese food for over 30 years. They offer dine-in, delivery and takeout. The restaurant is beautifully decorated - especially the beautiful ceiling. Great lunch specials and very reasonably priced. Excellent Chinese restaurant with a lot of character (the interior has an awesome design) and the owner (forgot her name) is very friendly and told me when I was here before (prior to Awaji next door moved in) a few years ago, which I totally forgot about. Their appetizer place was very good, and their lo mein with steak and fried rice was moreover very excellent. Great steamed dumplings, egg drop soup and tea as well. This restaurant is ran by great Chinese people who can make your dish more Chinese and less Americanized if that's what you want. They might need to invest in better chairs and tables but all in all great flavors in every dish we ordered. read more

I've been going here since high school and was so pleased to find it again and that the food is still very good and at a great value. The orange beef is unusually tasty. The cashew chick is very good. Portions are good size. The egg rolls are solid but the dumplings, either fried or steamed, are awesome. Eve the fried rice is very good. The owner is so nice and always smiles. The dining room hasn't changed since high school. Very traditional 1980's feel with the Asian ceiling lamps and everything. Do yourself a favor and try it. Empty restaurant with multiple dirty tables. Crumbs were all around on the floor. When we received our two soups, we switched to as we normally do to try each other's food... and there she was... floating in the middle of the hot and sour soup... There's more to the lack of cleanliness and care of this establishment, but since the roach made its appearance, I find it only necessary to address this biggest red flag. I've never before had Americanized Chinese food this poorly made. General Tso's was awful, like nothing I've ever seen or tasted before. It was cooked until rock hard, chicken tasted old, as if it had been prepped earlier in the week and reheated. The sauce was unappetizing to look at and barely edible. Honestly, it didn't even look nor taste like chicken anymore. We could not finish it. Egg rolls were better..Hot and sour soup smells off but tastes okay. We ordered delivery and the food was awful. I feel sick to my stomach after eating a few bites. I can't eat any more. The fried rice had large chunks of white rice in it that looked old. The General Tao's Chicken looked like it had been sitting out, then reheated. It didn't look anything like what you'd normally get at a restaurant. The moo goo gai pan tasted old and soggy. The egg drop soup tasted like water; like they were running low and added hot water to make it last longer. The Lo Mein noodles were just OK. Chunks of beef in the Lo Mein were chewy and flavorless. None of the items we ordered tasted fresh. I hope we don't get food poisoning. We will never order from here again. read more

i've ordered multiple times with satisfactory service, but tonight I ordered and have not received my order within 2 hours of ordering. I get that it gets busy on a saturday night, but when the app shows my order should be delivered and the restaurant has no idea where it actually is because they just gave it to a driver, thats not really helpful! there really shouldn't be a case where it takes 2 hours to get food delivery, and if it does, then the app should reflect that time. read more

This establishment has very rude service to Military Veterans. I am a 100% rated disability veteran following 22 years of military service. I am also bona fide tax exempt and carry my Oklahoma State Tax Exemption I.D. card everywhere I go. Last night we plced an order with Fortune Chinese and the lady working the register would not honor my tax exemption nor would she remove the sales tax off of my order like everywhere else I go does. When I informed her this is an Oklahoma State issued sales tax exemption I.D. card she became more vehement continuing to shout at me that Fortune Chinese does not honor that. She could care less about my military veteran status. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT EAT AT FORTUNE CHINESE! They do not support military veterans, not military veteran friendly at all. read more

This is a good, solid Chinese restaurant with your typical fare. Only the quality is much higher than the mushy slop you often get at the quick take out Chinese restaurants. I've only eaten here for lunch, so I haven't honestly explored their menu fully as I usually get the cheap lunch specials. If you eat off the lunch menu you get a bowl of soup, a large egg roll, and your entree. Usually I'm so full when my entree arrives that I get to take half home for lunch tomorrow. Score! My family has been eating at Fortune literally my whole life. I see that it has some bad reviews, but in thirty years, we really haven't had a bad experience. It's our favorite restaurant. Their egg rolls are our favorite anywhere, although we'll also challenge anyone to beat their fried chicken dumplings. I love their Moo Goo Gai Pan and my Mom and Sister are partial to their chicken and broccoli. The staff is super friendly and always makes us feel like part of the family. They're also very patient and kind when we come in, and we run with a 10 month old and a rowdy 2.5 year old - so it's a handful even when everyone's on their best behavior. They dote on the kids as though they're their own and are super patient with the inevitable mess that follows. We love this restaurant and will keep coming back as long as they'll let us. read more

I know I'm white, but I know what good Chinese food is. We went here tonight and ordered takeout. There was one table seated in the place when we arrived, and they already had their food. We ordered 3 meals to go. Meanwhile, more tables arrived, ordered, and received their food before us. Other people came in and picked up to-go orders also. What took ours so long? 30 minutes later, we realized it was because they were really busy over-cooking everything. Our duck was dry (think fried chicken livers). The orange beef had the consistency of beef jerky (I'm not kidding). As far as taste goes, the ma po tofu lacked any flavor and tasted like a cambell's soup. The orange beef only had three tiny crowns of broccoli with it, but it did taste kind of like orange. Too bad it was orange jerky. The duck was not bad, as far as flavor goes, but it was overdone and I don't like dry duck. So if you want to wait a long time for a terrible meal, this is your place. P.S. We placed a to-go order via phone and when arrived to pick it up they had giving our order away to someone else. So we had to wait another 10 minutes for them to re-make our order, while we waited the hostess and a waiter spent the whole time flirting with each other and didn't even offer us a drink or possibly comp our egg-rolls for our time.
