The hamburger steak is excellent. Generous portion and very flavorful. I did not care for the shrimp wrap or duck quesadilla (recipe could stand to be reworked). The homemade chips and white queso were tasty. The fried green beans also very good (dipping sauce is delicious). One critique, I would consider removing the funnel cake fries from the menu as they make all other fried foods taste similar. Food and service was excellent. It was very busy for a Wednesday evening. We were a large party celebrating a birthday, but the wait time was not bad. All of our food arrived hot and delicious. The Spinach Rockefeller Dip is served with Pork Chicharrons, which is a unique difference from the traditional tortilla chips. The kids had the Burger, Cheese Quesadillas and Fried Shrimp from the kid's menu, which they all enjoyed. The White Chocolate Bread Pudding is delicious bread with white chocolate sauce served on top, it was a perfect dessert to end our evening. Rainy day lunch date. Extremely friendly service. The waitress talked to us for a while and let us know about the food we were ordering. We ordered soft shell crab chauvin, pulled pork nachos, eggplants fries, and hamburger steak. It was all so good. Only complaint was with the drinks, description of the old fashioned included a cherry and price was $11, they were out of cherries and wasn't told this in advance and out of the brand of Whisky in the description and when we got our bill they tried to charge us for the more expensive whiskey they had available even though we weren't notified beforehand. I have been wanting to go to this restaurant. So, planned for my family to go with me for my birthday. We arrived at 6, on a very rainy Wednesday night. There was only one table occupied. I asked the young lady to please put together 3 tables for us. She would only let us put 2 together, and she wanted us to sit significantly separate. I have worked in the restaurant/service industry, and I understand things, like enough room for walking around tables... There was absolutely plenty of room on 2 sides of the restaurant for us to sit together. She seemed to be enjoying her unaccommodating obstinate inflexibility. It wasn't just me, but my husband and my adult children felt this way. I told her we would have to go elsewhere if we couldn't sit together. She said ok, and walked away. I was extremely disappointed. However, I did not want to start my birthday dinner out being served by someone with this kind of attitude. I know their restaurant is kind of small, but they had 8 open tables. We went down the road to Drago's, and spent $530.00. I suppose I will never know if the food is anything to post about. read more

Yes, you want to go here! We were hankering for a good burger so we took the advice from a foodies group and tried Mandez's. We are so glad we did! I ordered the Ragin' Cajun and it did not disappoint! My husband had the smokehouse burger and that pecan garlic barbque sauce took it over the top! I could've dipped my fries (which are not run of the mill) in it-so good! We also had the OMG Shrimp as an appetizer. They could've used a bit more of the yum yum sauce on them and my husband will order them without the cabbage garnish next time but we definitely enjoyed those, too! The owner personally delivered our food to the table then swung back by later to see if we were enjoying it. That's very unusual now days and we really enjoyed getting to chat with him. He's a really nice man. The inside is smallish but it looks like with a call ahead they can seat a decent size party (8) or so. There is also a patio area to enjoy on cooler days. While we were there the servers brought out other dishes for our fellow diners and I was curiously looking at each plate to see what I may want to try next. I'm planning on getting the fried catfish and my husband wants to try the ribs the owner told us about. We're really looking forward to our next visit! read more

The chicharrons arrived at the table still warm, sizzling and crisping.. the spinach dip was delicious and creamy, the dish was so huge, we could not finish it Ragin Cajun Burger - dressed with crumbled bacon, grilled jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, Mandez sauce, fried onion strings, and Roma tomatoes served on a jalapeno cheese bun served with fries - the burger was delicious and booming with flavors!! You can taste the heat but it was not spicy Grilled fish taco - topped with pico de gallo, fresh slaw, and creamy jalapeño sauce wrapped in a flour tortilla and choice of two sides (we chosen grilled vegetables & hush puppies) - the fish taco light and flavorful, but the burger definitely wins Need a trip back to try their other stuff.. or maybe another Ragin Cajun Burger! read more
