She goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone has a good time, even making phone calls when she's on vacation to make sure that teams have substitutes when they need them. 3 vs. 3 hockey on the small studio rink is a blast, although i wish they'd do more to balance the teams sometimes.

Also, since it was only open for 2 hours and there was no need to zamboni, the ice was quite slippery on the day we went. It was quite cheap to rent skates (entry plus skates = $5) and my friends who take skating lessons here are learning a lot.

I've been playing hockey for over 40 years now. (you'd think I would be better after all of those…read moreyears) Over those years I have been in a lot of ice rinks both as a player, coach and fan. As far as local ice rinks or amateur ice rinks, the Sun Prairie Ice Arena is by far and away the best ice rink I have ever been in! We were in town watch my nephew who had a tournament here. My first impression as we arrived at the arena was how nice it looked from the outside. The next thing I said is they have a restaurant?!?! There is a restaurant attached to the arena. What a great idea! As we walked into the arena there is a separate door that leads to the locker rooms. The inside of the arena doesn't disappoint. It is bright and well laid out. There are a couple of TV's, a little pro shop and a snack shop. The area that I really liked is what they called the players lounge. This was in a corner by the windows that had a very comfortable leather sectional. If I could have watched the game from here I probably would have. There are two rinks inside and they are easy to see and marked clearly. The rinks are bright and well lit which is great for the fans and the players. These are also some of the cleanest stands I have seen. We've been to plenty of arena's where there is food and garbage around the stands. These stands were clean and there was some nice heat coming from above that kept the fans plenty warm. There is lots of parking outside as well as stairs and a ramp for handicap or players that roll their bags. As a fan I was unable to get on the ice or locker rooms however my nephew tells me the ice was good as well as the locker rooms. If we lived in the area I would love to come here to skate and hopefully we can come back again. No question the best rink I have ever seen!

We attended an evening birthday party at this facility. There is parking on the left side of the…read morebuilding and the entrance is facing the street. Upon approaching the door the area is clean and clear of any hazards. Once you walk into the building you are in an open bright colored room with information posted, and it appears your will need to be buzzed into the next set of doors. Upon entering into the rink area to the right in an area to purchase skates and/or skate accessories and next to that is the concessions. Just a couple of steps from the concessions is the washrooms. Then coming back there are tables and just past those is the right. Dj booth is in the front as well. Going straight through the door there are games and moving past those is the prize area and skate rental area. The beverages are over $3.00 and some change each, but they sell the pitcher for a little over $6.00. They offer pizza and snacks as well. We ordered the nachos and fries. The nachos which were good, but those fries, they were so good. This group rented the whole place to enjoy their birthday and is was very nice. Employees were both very kind and fast. They use great colors, bright. Makes it fun!
