Thanks to Sara S. organizing yet another successful International Supper Club (ISC), my partner and I got to eat at Manee Thai. I'm rating them 3.5 because I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was decent and well priced. I ordered green curry with pork (but forgot to take a photo of it because I was so hungry and excited to eat). I enjoyed it enough, but wouldn't go out of my way again to get it. What I did really like was the northern Thai sausage appetizer that Mark P. so graciously shared with everyone. The taste almost reminded me of certain sausages I've had in Taiwan, where my family is originally from (not to be confused with Thailand). Our server did a fairly good job at getting orders and filling the water at our table of 13, although Ben S. had to ask twice to get more than one lemon for his water. The value for the food was great, since it was decent and there was so much of it. Unfortunately, I don't know that I'll be back soon because of the distance to my house (30 minutes exactly). Recently had an order from Manee delivered by DoorDash. We ordered red curry with vegetables, red curry with chicken, salmon ginger sauce, Thai vegetable fried rice, crispy spring rolls, tofu soup, and sweet sticky rice with mango. The food was good... nobody was disappointed. However, I made the mistake of ordering a diet Pepsi as well. I was expecting to receive a bottle or can, but instead received a plastic cup with an unsealed lid (straw hole on top). That would have been doable, but that packed the soda in a bag with warm food items. So, the Pepsi leaked from the cup and was warmed by the food. By all means, try their food, but if you're having food delivered, don't order a soda. read more

Delicious. Clean. Friendly service. Great selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. Small but usually a steady stream of people on a weekend night. Eater beware...if you order something with a pepper, meaning hot, from the menu, go easy. Mild will clear your sinuses. Medium to hot (and there are more choices than mild/medium/hot just ask your server) will make you cry...but it's a good cry and I bet you want to come back again. read more

Went for lunch. This was our first time here. They have a lunch special menu. Menu is well organized in sections so it is easy to make a choice. There is also a description of each entree so you knew exactly what you were getting. You can pick your level of heat. Lunch is a full meal with appetizer, soup of the day and entree. So delicious. Very filling. I had the pineapple rice with chicken. We also had an extra order of "cheese angels". I highly recommend. Food arrived quickly and was perfect temperature. Server was so pleasant. We had a good lunch at Manee Thai today. Our friends had the drunken noodles and thai beef salad. They seemed to like their meals. We ordered appetizers as our meal. Thai spicy beef, the Siam sausage, the pork satay skewers and some crying tiger. Everything was good. I wasn't blown away or anything but it was decent. My daughter enjoyed the crispy banana spring roll dessert with ice cream. read more

2009 review and I have yet been to Thailand. I had a big bowl of Thai sukiyaki. The dish is basically everything they offer seems to be in the soup and I love it. The service can be somewhat iffy as it was the night I visited. All things considered I really like the place and as usual good food trumps iffy service. read more

They are located in a strip mall. The sweet and sour chicken was OK. Nothing to rave nor rant about. Cashew Chicken: My husband liked this a lot. He got the Medium spice and he was drinking my water because water couldn't come fast enough. So strange to see someone sweat because of food, I still marvel at it. I'm easily amused. Service: You could tell they did not like the Groupon. Almost civil about it. Don't use the groupon service if you don't want the people to come use it. lol /rant off :p :) Our server was OK and annoyed. heh. TLDR: Service is a bit snarly and not fast with refills. We were in town for the weekend and decided to try the local Thai food. Ambience: the restaurant is located in a shopping strip. The interior was nicely decorated with Thai furnishings, creating a more authentic feel. Service: we were seated immediately, and the waitress was patient with our order. Service was slightly slow but not bad. Food: we ordered the nam kong beef as an appetizer - this was extremely salty even when eaten with the iceberg lettuce underneath. We had to drink copious amounts of water to tolerate this dish. We then had the Tom Yum soup, which was slightly sour with more sweetness than I'm accustomed to for this soup. However, I would order this again. My wife had the tofu pad Thai, and I had the basis eggplant with sliced pork. The pad Thai was quite tart and not appealing. The eggplant was flavored nicely and had a decent amount of spice. We finished our meal with the mango sticky rice, which was clearly the best dish. It was sweet, succulent, warm, and gooey, all of which are qualities you want in this dessert. Overall, this restaurant was average at best. There are many Thai options in St. Louis, some of which are better, but if you happen to be in this restaurant's vicinity, it might be worth a try. read more

I love this place. One of my favorites. I usually get the red curry, no meat no starch but I am trying the panang curry tonight. The papaya salad is delicious along with the crispy spring rolls. The fresh are the best. My daughter is sold on the pad Thai though. Just the right amount of sauce with the noodles and toppings. She gets it as is due to she cannot tolerate the heat otherwise. Daughter #2 always gets the pineapple fried rice. Not to heavy or sweet. Perfect. We've tried several dishes over the years but we come back to the oldies all the same. The environment is casual or dressy. The staff are always so sweet and welcoming. I've never had a bad visit or take out. read more

Food: 4 Service: 2.5 I know that some people would see my 3 and not know what to think so I figured that I would clarify at the beginning. I lived in Ballwin for the first 26 years of my life roughly (not including the 4 years i lived away at college), and i had never eaten at Manee Thai until last night. I was there with a large party (there were 8 of us), but we had to wait over 20 minutes to get out drink orders, then about 10 more minutes to get our drinks. And water was not automatically offered. We then had to wait an additional 10 minutes or so to give our food orders. There appeared to be only one waitress working and the dining room was almost full. Luckily our food arrived at a decent time. i had a Thai iced tea and sweet and sour chicken stir fry. Both were very good. I wish there were less veggies in my stir fry but it was still good. Don't trust the curry spice level in the menu either. The menu says they're all rated "mild", but our waitress and people at the table said it was much spicier than mild. Came here with another person and ordered a green curry and Tom Yum noodle soup. The green curry was great, good taste, tender chicken. The Tom Yum noodle on the other hand tasted spoiled. It had a really really strong fishy smell and taste. The shrimp tasted really old, and slightly under cooked. Unfortunately I had stomach problems afterwards. This is unfortunate; and I'm sure it isn't the norm, because I've heard such great things about Manee Thai from my friends that eat there all the time. Went for lunch because it was close by. They have great lunch specials. You get soup of the day, we had chicken and rice soup, spring roll and crab Rangoon. Then we got the Pad Thai, which was a very generous portion for $7.99! The Pad Thai was ok, kind of one note instead of having all the different flavors. The owner is very nice and it seems like there are regulars who go there. West county doesn't have a lot of Thai places, but this is a good option and the lunch is a great value. read more

Ordered my food at 6.30. Sitting at the restaurant for the pick up. It's 8 pm Grub hub gave a time b/w 7.10 to 7.40. The male person was curious but the female at the front desk was really rude. I think when you order through Grubhub they don't like it. Next time I will not use Grub hub to order food from this restaurant. read more

The past two times I've ordered from Manee Thai I have had to wait close to an hour past the scheduled time my takeout was supposed to be ready. The first time we thought it was just a fluke, so we decided to give them a second chance. Our order was supposed to be ready at 5:45 and I didn't leave with our food (which was a small order) until 6:40. Any time I would ask the woman how much longer they thought it may be until my food was ready, they would reply "I don't know". Other patrons in the restaurant also had to wait just as long for their food. They also did not apologize for the wait. read more
