A solid lunch delivered at home by Grubhub! Pad See Ew with a spice level 3 hit the spot! An addictive amount of heat, but tolerable through the whole meal!

I've been meaning to try Sweetie Cup Thai Cafe for awhile now. Their dining room is only open a limited range of hours, so we ordered takeout. Mango bubble tea: the mango milk tea tasted pretty powdery and lacked flavor. The tapioca pearls were had an excellent consistency though. Pineapple fried rice: Delicious and my whole family enjoyed this! Pad see ew: It was too sweet and not savory like other pad see ews I've had in the past. They used a similar sauce as the pad thai dish that we also ordered. Pad thai with chicken: We loved the pad thai with its tangy sweet sauce, tossed with crushed peanuts. Portion size was just right! We will be back again for the pad thai and would love to try other dishes!

I really enjoyed this place. The food was delicious I have spicy rice, level 2 is not got at all, next time going level 4. The spicy rice was better than any I had in north county so far, all the flavors and vegetables just exploded in my mouth. I had the spicy ramen noodles, level 2. Again the level 2 here is not spicy for me, perhaps others it is but I am a pepper head sort of level 4 next time for me. This dish was great, the broth which makes the noodles for me was well, made with a great savory clear broth and the ramen enhanced it well, the mix of vegetables and protein choices were great. The spring rolls were different, a mix of rice, carrots and a delicious mint leaf that brought out the flavor of the roll in a peanut sauce.. one word awesome. You can park in a shared parking lot with plenty of room. The establishment is clean and good for talking to your partner that accompanies you. Even the whole family will be able to converse without yelling. The server was by herself and did a great job, I think she was the owner of not she was well dressed and provided excellent service to be alone. She kept the drinks full and provided whatever we needed. I will be back to try more of the dishes, good eta to be had here and the portion size with appetizer you won't be hungry.

Great service, clean environment, and food was AMAZING. Probably one of the best Thai places I have had in St. Louis.

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The service was very good, the food came out quickly and the pad see ew I ordered was perfectly seasoned. A sign on the door says carry out only after 4, so plan accordingly!

Awesome food! This place is located off Big Bend and Dougherty Ferry. It is a small place, but with amazing food. We have been here a couple of times and have enjoyed each visit! This particular visit, we ordered the Chicken Satay, Red Curry, Kid's noodles, and Ginger Stir Fry. For the appetizer, the Chicken Satay was perfect. It was cooked well and seasoned with nice flavors. The little cucumber and carrot salad was such a treat too. The staff also got it out to us quickly. The red curry sauce was really really good (says my husband). It came out hot and spicy. The Ginger stir fry was also delicious. Both the veggies and chicken were cooked well, and the sauce was a highlight to this dish. I really could take the ginger too! I would also order and eat the kid's noodles myself...even though I am not a kid. My son really enjoyed them, and we ended up sharing with him too :-) Sweetie Cup is definitely a place to continue to revisit!

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile, and they didn't disappoint. The online ordering was easy, and pick was great. As I picked up the food the restaurant was cute, too bad they don't offer seating for dinner, maybe soon. The food was good. We had both the Crispy roll and Spring roll. They were both good, I preferred the Spring roll. The curry was flavorful, spice level 1. For the Ginger stir fry we had spice level 3 and it was very hot, and we like hot. The final dish we had was the Pad See Ew and that was good, spice level 2. My son wasn't a big fan of the chicken satay.overall it was good but not sure if it is better than our other go to Thai restaurant.

Was out in Kirkwood for an appt and decided to pick up lunch on the go. Thai always hits the spot when it's hot out so I stopped in at Sweetie Cup for a quick lunch. Very cute decor and very clean! I decided on my staples for any new Thai place: papaya salad and crispy egg rolls along with a bubble milk tea. I also got an order of Thai style wings for later on. The egg rolls were good: crisp and fresh, the papaya salad was average: needed much more lime juice and cilantro, but those wings!! Yum. They were crispy, crunchy, chewy, perfectly cooked and so flavorful. The sticky sauce that came on them was cloyingly sweet, so I was glad it was mostly at the bottom of the box and I just took them out, sprinkled them with some good black soy sauce and they were perfect. I will be back if just for those wings!!

Parking was easily accessible on adjacent lots or on the street. The inside of the restaurant is modern and clean. It is an open concept, so you can see a portion of the kitchen from the seats. My party of 5 was seated immediately by a hostess who gave me the vibe that she neither loved or hated her job...she was just sort of there. It took 18 minutes for a server to show up at our table...By this time, I could have recited their menu! The party of 6 beside us finished their food, got their to go boxes, paid their tab, & chit chatted before we were even acknowledged. We were not the only ones who noticed that our party was being ignored/ overlooked because a lady in the party next to us (the party who had already paid) leaned over to me and said, I promise the food is worth the wait. Hence we stayed... When the waiter brought our water, we went on and ordered our appetizers. We asked if he would go on and take our entree orders. My son ordered pad Thai, one daughter drunken noodles, the other daughter fried rice, my husband and I fried rice and drunken noodles... The waiter then told us, we don't have drunken noodles, the noodles did not come in on the delivery order (I get it, not your fault), but we were confused because nothing was said about those dishes not being available when we sat down as well as when my daughter ordered drunken noodles (which come to find out he had written that part of the order down wrong)... My husband asked if they could just substitute a different type of noodles from one of the other noodle dishes into the drunken noodles, and the waiter said that the noodles in the drunken noodles were large and flat. My husband reiterated to the server that we knew that and asked the question again. The server gave the same response. I am not sure if his intent was to be condescending or if his comprehension was that poor, but with service like that, I have little faith in the quality of the food... By this time, things were beyond frustrating, so we got up and left. We ended up at Sen Thai and had a great meal. Guess we will have to continue to do some Yelp research on other quality Thai restaurants in STL...Chao Baan will remain a mystery for us!

They had 2 wait staff working when we went and both greeted us immediately and seated us inside. Their air conditioning was broken and awaiting repair and they had signs throughout explaining that. It was still cooler inside than out so we sat inside. I was curious what a butterfly lemonade was so I ordered one. It was good and quite refreshing with traditional lemonade at the bottom topped with a vibrant deep purple concoction on top. After I educated myself, I found that the deep purple concoction is steeped tea made from butterfly pea flowers. We started with some egg rolls - fried with ground pork and vegetables and served with sweet and sour sauce. The sauce was great! I normally pass as most of them have a cloyingly sweet flavor that I don't like but theirs had a really good balance of flavors amd not too sweet. The egg rolls were flavorful enough to stand on their own though and yes, delivered piping hot to the table. I had the drunken noodles with beef at medium spicy level. At first bite, I was immediately able to taste the spicy level I chose. A great sign. Then I sniffed and started sweating. Another great sign of good spice level. My husband ordered the yellow curry with tofu and medium spice level as well. At first he said it could be hotter but then midway through he decided it was more of a build up and thought the level was actually perfect. Serving size was great. You can definitely get another meal out of an order! We took the rest of our food home. I cannot wait to eat my leftovers today. What a great spot for a delicious, quick dinner!

Unlike the atmosphere in the Thai restaurants in West County, the place is almost austere. That is not a bad thing, because it has outdoor seating available with shade from old neighborhood trees. The service was attentive and friendly. I needed a phone charge at the staff was kind enough to plug my phone at the counter and keep an eye on it. The food was a different twist on what we expected. We sampled their Thai Stix, which relate to a crab Rangoon, but the nicely melted cream cheese is flavored with kankimama and scallions. They are a bit messy, but worth it. Their Hoy Jaw are deep fried dumplings of shrimp, crab and mixed pork, deep fried with a crunchy texture. Both of these small plates come with a bright sweet chili sauce. The chicken satay were tender, moist and came with a peanut sauce that was the perfect blend between almost peanut butter and being too runny. For me, the best part of the meal was the Hung Lay Curry. The dish combines pork belly and pork shoulder, perfect cooked and tender in a curry that includes palm sugar, turmeric, peanuts, and fresh ginger. The curry is not dominated by curry powder, and has a rich, satisfying flavor that can be compared to a rich ramen broth. Spoon the sauce over the rice to let the flavors soak in. For those who think curry is spicy, this dish is not. Instead, it has the comfort food vibe that is a unique for me in eating Thai food. I usually try to get something that can easily be compared to other restaurants and determined if I will come back. I opted for the pad Thai. While not the worst pad Thai I've had, it was one of the more expensive. My noodles were dry and clumpy. It was hard to eat and required water. There was an unremarkable amount of chicken for the price. The flavor was also quite underwhelming. The quantity was also questionable. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back here. Ambiance: Very nice, dark, cozy -- date night vibes…read more Service: Great! Polite, smiles, answered all our questions. We started with the Isaan hamachi. It was okay, but compared to Sado's version it just didn't hold up. The biggest issue was the aroma--it had a sour, almost "rotten milk" smell. I'm not sure if that was from the coconut milk reacting with the acidity of the dish and was intentional, but it really affected the overall experience. The flavor itself was decent, but smell plays such a big role in taste. Next was a white fish sashimi (I can't remember the name) served over a thin orange slice and topped with jalapeño. The flavor combination was really nice and refreshing, but the slices of fish were paper thin. At around $20, I expected a more substantial portion. The gyoza was solid. Nothing groundbreaking, but well-executed with great flavor, a beautiful crispy lace, and honestly one of the best-smelling dishes we ordered. The palm sugar ribs came highly recommended, so I was excited for them. Texture-wise they were excellent--crispy outside, juicy inside--but the sauce had an overpowering aroma that reminded both of us of wet dog. My guess is the fish sauce was a little heavy-handed. I've had plenty of dishes with fish sauce before and love the depth it adds, so I don't know if this was intentional or just an off night. The flavor itself was good, but the smell made it difficult to fully enjoy. (It was pungent in the worst way) The standout of the night was the Japanese eggplant. Absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and the chili crisp brought everything together. Easily a 10/10. For dessert, we had the mango custard coconut cake, which was also delicious. Favorite cocktail: the Re-Animator. Refreshing, citrus-forward, with just enough wasabi to give it a subtle kick. I've never had anything quite like it and would absolutely order it again. Overall, it wasn't the strongest first impression. There were definitely some highlights--the eggplant, dessert, and cocktail were all excellent--but if I'm spending this much on dinner, I'd probably choose Sado, where every visit has been consistently outstanding. That said, I'd still come back for that eggplant alone. This reads more like an honest dining journal than a takedown. It gives credit where it's due, clearly explains why certain dishes didn't work for you, and ends on a fair note rather than a harsh one.
