But Wednesday night, the kitchen presented to us the best birria tacos and pollo con vegetables my wife and I can remember ever having!!! Savory meat filled the 3 tacos and the flavor of the chicken dish was drool inducing. Service is always helpful and the new location gives a fresh feel to the restaurant. Terrible avoid at all cost . Walked in sat down half the items on the menu they were out of including the Carne Asada , enchiladas , and chips . They told us they were preparing a fresh batch . They did bring out the cheese dip no chips of course. Waitress was friendly poor girl . Stocking and preparing to open is a management issue. Not having Chips and salsa etc is a kitchen problem. I suggest you try another Mexican restaurant in Anniston and Oxford there are several good options Mexico Lindo for one. read more

I'm from Cali/AZ so I've been raised on great fresh Mexican food. It's hard to find that in this area. I saw the amazing pictures and decided to give Besitos a try for my son's birthday. We were absolutely not disappointed! We were greeted and sat as soon as we walked in. If you like spicy salsa ask and they will get you some. I like to ask lots of questions when I visit a new restaurant and our waitress was all too happy to answer all our questions. This is a family run business which I appreciate supporting. When our food came out everything was very fresh. You could tell someone had been slaving away in the kitchen to make it happen. The tortillas I believe were even hand made which you don't find around here much. Our only complaint when we were finished with our food was how full we were and most of us took food home. The agua frescas were very good too. I had already told two people about this place before we even left the restaurant. Our server was very nice and attentive. We didn't have to wait at all for our chips to get refilled. My boyfriend and I crush chips and salsa so fast, so that was awesome! The birria tacos were some of the best I've had and I'm originally from Arizona. Tons of meat and cheese and all the onions and cilantro come on the side, which is stellar because my boyfriend hates all that stuff. We will definitely be coming back read more

Just got home from eating at Besitos. I eat here all the time and it's always good, but tonight was spectacular. Margs were delicious, chicken soup was so tasty, chorizo queso was heavenly, and the street corn was also very good. This has been my go to mexican restaurant for about a year and I am so glad they are staying consistent. The owner is also very attentive and a great guy. It's a must try for brunch, lunch, or dinner! read more

This place is tied with El Agave for me simply because these two restaurants offer things I can't get at all the more gringo restricted menus of Mexican places here. For Besitos, its mole and chiliquiles and both are delicious. I've had mole 3 times in the southwest during a Route 66 excursion, and this one is by far the best, the others were too salty or too sweet. This one is just right. The chiliquiles here are awesome as well, VERY crispy contrasted by the liquid salsa. There's more here I want to try, including the pozole verde (they were out) and the California Burrito. This place is outstanding! I've only been there a handful of times, but plan to return soon. From the tastefully-decorated, cozy atmosphere to the fresh, expertly-prepared dishes and super friendly, efficient service, I can't think of a single thing I'd ask to be done better or differently. I'm kicking myself for forgetting to take a picture of my food, but I will tell you that the shrimp tacos with cilantro rice are exquisite! Their salsa is really yummy too. They even have Mexican Cokes on the menu! One of the owners, Ariel, served us, and was delightful. If you're ever in the Anniston area, make time to enjoy a meal there! read more

I had lunch at Besito's Mexican Kitchen while on business in the area. I love small downtowns and was excited to try the restaurant. (On a side note, the downtown needs a little work, but has so much potential!) Vibe: The restaurant is comfortable, it's open and airy with high ceilings, and there are lots of plants which add some warmth. I think the restaurant, like downtown has alot of potential from a design and decor standpoint as it's a bit cavernous and overall it's empty. It was busy, which added to the vibe. I also noticed there wasn't a sign in front on the street, but there was one at the back entrance. Food: The Chips & Salsa were good - nothing extraordinary - but fresh. I had the lunch combination with two items. For my combo I had the Chile Relleno (an extra $2 charge) and the Jalapeño Tamale. The Chile Relleno had good flavor and was well prepared. I was a little disappointed with the Tamale - mainly due to the fact that it wasn't as light and fluffy as I like, it was a bit dense and hard. They also used a firmer cheese - I think perhaps Panela - which wasn't my favorite as I would have liked a cheese with a little melt. The jalapeños were fresh and added a good flavor. I had the Black Beans (as they are made without meat) which had good flavor. The Mexican Rice - well, let's just say I wish I could get a great rice at a Mexican restaurant - it was what we have come to expect and not great in my opinion. For beverages, I wish they had a broader selection of Jarritos - they only had two flavors - but I was ok with the Lime. Service: It was very attentive, super friendly and knowledgeable. Everything you hope for. If you are in Anniston, it's certainly worth the try. read more

Excellent salsa, and that's about it. The arched entrance to the restaurant is lovely with a stained glass door, yet inside the tables and chairs look secondhand and are worn. Plants with the price tag still on the pots line shelves above the tables. A roller blind was hanging broken above the front window. The utensils were about as cheap as you can buy and uncomfortably sharp on the edges (bring your own). Beverages are served in plastic Coke-branded glasses. The chips were good, but could have benefitted from being warmed. The chile relleno had a great flavor but was served lukewarm. Other dishes, such as the enchilada and tacos, were typical. Service, however, was quick and friendly. I'm uncertain about visiting again, especially since the prices are more in line with an upscale restaurant. If the owners could try just a bit harder, this has the potential to be a local gem. read more

The chips & salsa was amazing, BUT I literally got food poising from the sopa de pollo and my TWO YEAR OLD ALSO got food poisoning. My son had the "chicken nuggets" from the kid's menu, that wasn't even nuggets. Just big, cut up chicken fingers with a side of rice..
