So glad this eatery was in our departure terminal leaving San Juan, Puerto Rico. We had an 11 hour wait til our next flight. Perfect because we had more than enough time for a sit down meal. Before coming to San Juan I had read about mofongos but it wasn't on the menu for breakfast at the hotel. Neither did I see it offered on the cruise ship or at the ports. I was excited... plus I love Puerto Rican rice aka gandule( pigeon peas) rice. Double score!!! Actually triple yays: carne frita, mofongo and Puerto Rican rice on my plate- yumminess to the max! It's an airport bar/restaturant in a terminal without many options. Based on this, you may lower your expectations to find out you may need to lower them even more. Two bartenders enjoyed talking more amongst themselves and their friends than serving many of us around the bar. The service here is really good and the staff is very attentive whether you sit inside the restaurant or in the outside seating in the terminal. The menu is very limited to burgers, chicken tenders and salads. The portions are filling but the prices are pretty high even by airport standards. I see a lot one and two star reviews for Mango's Village, but for being located in an airport terminal one really can't really expect all that much. It does have some good points. First off, it's the only place in JetBlue Terminal A that serves alcohol and second, it's the only place that isn't a part of a fast food chain or a part of the cafeteria food court like seating. I stopped by, had one of the local San Juan Medalla draft beers, which though pricey at $8.50, typical of airport bars, and an order of calamari. To my delight the calamari was of a full plate portion, came with two different dips and though again airport pricey, really tender, tasty and properly prepared. I can't really rave about Mango's, but the food I had was good and my service professional and polite; all actually being better than found in most other airport terminals. So for what it is, an airport terminal restaurant, Mango's isn't really all that bad and for me certainly beats having to eat crap fast food along with the horrors of having to sit around and endure food court table seating experience. read more

The hubby and I had a few hours to kill before our flight and Mango's is the best full service sit down restaurant in the Jet Blue terminal. I don't particularly like eating heavily when flying so we went with two lighter options for lunch, their calamari ($12.25) and a chicken caesar salad ($13). The calamari was tasty and had a delicious spice sprinkled onto it, but it looked liked and had the consistency of the defrost kind. The chicken caesar salad on the other hand was a real winner. They drizzled pesto sauce all over the grilled chicken was amazing. The only thing that brought the stars down was that it did take a really long time to get our order even though there wasn't that many people in the restaurant and it was very slow going in getting everything else, like our drinks, condiment requests and bill at the end. I get island time, I've lived on quite a few islands but thank goodness we had two hours and our gate was in eyesight, we needed it. Came back to Puerto Rico after a long absence due to the pandemic. Worst host ever in an airport I've found in my life. First, the waitress will tell you that if you want to eat you must take the food outside the bar-restaurant. But if you're going to drink alcohol you can stay in the bar-restaurant. The reason; the pandemic. Apparently, Puerto Ricans discovered something new about the virus no one knows. Don't waste your time reading the menu in Yelp cause nothing is available but just rice and beans, plantains, and two types of meat. Chicken or pork. This was the only restaurant by the JetBlue terminals that you can sit comfortably and be served. The only issue I had with the menu was that you cannot access all selections at certain times. However our waiter did offer accommodations and suggestions since one of us was in the mood for lunch. I would say the prices were decent for airport food. And the taste was pretty good. Came for breakfast because there aren't many choices in the terminal. I expected to pay much more since we are at the airport. The food is very basic, don't expect to be blown away. $12 for two fried eggs, three strips of bacon, one piece of cheap white bread toast, and "hash browns" which are really nine tater tots. $10 for three pieces of French toast made out of the same cheap white bread slices and three strips of bacon. We ordered orange juice, $4 each and the server brought large cups of what tasted like sour water with ice and a lighter color than Tang. We told her that they tasted like water and maybe the syrup for the fountain needs to be changed. She said that she knew it was low but didn't have any to change it. That part is what annoys me. What happens when you're the only "real" restaurant in an airport terminal, and the only spot that serves liquor? You can get away with ridiculous prices, mediocre food and bad service. Captive audience syndrome, I guess. I would say avoid it, but if you want a drink, or anything other than fast food while waiting for your flight, this is your only option. For drinks, stick with wine or beer, the mixed drinks are $12 - $15 and ridiculously watered down. A strange experience to say the least. No menus (not even one we could scan) and beers that cost more than Fenway Park (which is incredible). We overheard another employee telling patrons that they could also order from Domino's....huh? Service was slow out of the gate, we were at our table waiting for a server for quite some time, not what you hope for at an airport, especially when it wasn't very crowded here. Good spot in Luis Munoz airport for breakfast and coffee. The service is quick and the server makes an excellent Puerto Rican cafe con leche. Of course my breakfast sandwich was pressed - I went with ham egg and cheese and it came with deep fried tator tots. Drinks review only. I get it, when you're at the airport you have to lower your expectations and open up your wallet...to an extent. Mojitos and pina coladas in most nice San Juan bars are about $7-$8 and quite large. Here at Mango's Village they were $13 and served in a small plastic cup. The drinks tasted alright but they simply aren't worth the price when they are so very small. I wanted one more topical drink before flying home and I think next time I would skip it and save my $13 plus tax and tip. Service was passable but forgettable. read more

Mango's Village was a pretty good meal at the PR airport in San Juan. To be honest there aren't many other choices. But Mango's doesn't appear to cut corners and the service was actually incredible here. We sat in the center of the airport where a bunch of nice tables were arranged. I thought service would be slow to this area because it's a longer walk. But they were spot on awesome the whole time. We dot fries, onion rings, burgers and a salad. All of it was excellent. It was on the greasy side so I deducted a star for that, but otherwise it was a great airport meal and really hit the spot. I was dehydrated from spending time on the beach and kept downing way too much coke...they kept it coming and refilled. Same for my wife's tea. I would totally come back here! read more

So it is only relatively better than what else is available. My churassco steak was quite decent and the Puerto Rican rice was delicious, but the accompanying salad was poor. Of course, the price was high, given its captive clientele. There is a niche market for someone to start putting quality restaurants in airports. So far, no takers. read more

I've had the food 2x. It's the best you're gonna find in this terminal. The chicken crunchy tacos are delicious so are the wings and house rice called Puerto Rican Mamposteao rice. Well a few things about Mango's in the airport.First, it is the only spot that has a bar and beer/drinks. The rest of the spots are purely fast food options. Second, they have their own seating around the bar with actual servers that come by to take your order. The rest are just walk up, take to go, sit in the shared area. Also the server we had was courteous and explained the food pretty well for what it was.... mediocre or less than mediocre food. I'd want to give the beer and the service three stars, and the food 1.5 to 2 stars. So i'd say 2.5 stars overall but based on what the other options are will splurge and just put 3 hehe. read more

Best airport food I've had in awhile! All the food was homemade and was delicious! I had a simple penne pasta dish with chicken, but I could tell the sauce was homemade.
