Has to be the best Indian food in Spokane! It smells amazing and my mouth waters as soon as I enter the front door. Tastyyyy food and great options for those who are vegetarian as well visiting the buffet! Amazing staff that take pride in their work and have great customer service. We had to try this Indian restaurant. Parking is easy with a very large parking lot. They is room for at least ten groups of four at dinner. We started with a chili gobhi which was absolutely fabulous. We then ordered four more dishes, shrimp vindaloo, butter chicken, lamb bhuna and goat kadai. We also ordered gobhi paratha and a garlic naan. The service was excellent. The tables were large and fit four people nicely. Drink prices were very reasonable. Overall a spectacular meal. read more

Tonight my friend Jenna and I tried the India House on the South Hill for dinner. Let me say, it was wonderful. We really liked the way it felt, the minute we walked in. It was a lot bigger on the inside than we had thought. It's clean and the booths have tall walls so you have a sense of privacy. Service was good. I ordered tomato soup to start. It was a very rustic soup. Not creamy, I really enjoyed it. I would definitely get it again. I even dunked my garlic naan in it, it was perfect. For our meals, Jenna and I both ordered the Fish Tandoori. It was a very good sized portion, there was plenty leftover for another meal (or two). We also tried their Garlic Naan. It was not chewy, it was light and flavored very well. I also brought home Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Boti, Raita, Naan, and Garlic Naan. Their prices are reasonable. I often order a mango lassi to drink and a second one to-go because they are THAT good (sweet, fruity, and creamy). Once we discovered this place, my family has eaten here 4 times this summer. The lunch buffet offerings include butter chicken, chicken Tikka masala, rice, naan bread, a variety of other dishes including a tasty vegetarian dish with either fried tofu or cauliflower (my favorite), fresh fruit, veggies, chickpea salad, and onion salad. It has more ambiance and attention to detail than a lot of Indian places we've been to. We had the chili Gobhi, chicken korma, and lamb nirvana. All were awesome! Really flavorful and just the right spice levels. Nirvana was the stand out. We also got two types of naan and they were cooked to perfection! Mine was stuffed with golden raisins and pistachios. We ordered three dishes, garlic naan, and rice take out and all were phenomenal. The tandoori chicken was stand out and we loved the Tikka masala. I was spoiled by excellent Indian in Redmond and Los Angeles, so my review of India House pits below average against 5 stars. Flavors are identical to most Indian restaurants, but there was more runny sauce than meat in all the dishes we ordered. The aloo gobi had slightly undercooked cauliflower. The paratha used weird tasting oil. The restaurant is in the same lot as Ace Hardware so parking was no problem. It's a family run restaurant with friendly staff so I feel bad writing this review. So disappointed after all the word of mouth that India House is better than Mango Tree. Sorry, not true. The chicken korma I ordered, despite being a beautiful color, had absolutely zero flavor. Same with the stuffed naan. It was so bread-y and oddly had no other flavor, even being packed with coconut, pistachios and raisins. Very sad. read more

Inedible. We've lived all over the country, this is probably the worst Indian food we've ever had. We gave it a try and ordered two simple dishes (chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken. They were neon in color and absolutely gross. The chicken tasted as if it had gone bad and the sauces were bland and tasteless despite the vibrant unnatural color. Took one bite and threw it away.
