I called Manhattan Appliance for help with a fussy ice maker in a fussy upscale under-counter refrigerator/freezer. Terrance diagnosed the problem, parts were ordered and he returned and did an excellent installation. After a few weeks, a subsequent issue arose and Michael H came out the very same day and provided excellent diagnosis, service, and help. Also, the person who answers the phone and does all of the scheduling is pleasant and thoughtful. These problems are not easy ones to solve and they are worth the money to do it right. read more

I needed a repair on my oven. Granted, I have a bit of an obscure brand (Jade) but they had fixed it in the past, so I figured I would try them again. It was making a funny sound, and I sent a video in advance. The repairman came and said that nothing was wrong with it. The dispatch called me directly afterward to bill my credit card for the full amount. I explained what happened, and let her know that I was positive that there was an issue, and that the guy hadn't spotted it. She said that there was a warranty on the service and that if it reoccured I should call back. Sure enough, two weeks later my oven completely died. I tried to reach back out by email to dispatch and was ignored until I called and someone called back. I also spoke to the repairman and asked him to come back. He said he would order the correct parts and come back. He never did. And further reachouts to dispatch were also ignored. Long story short - they didn't know how to fix my oven, charged me full price and ignored their warranty. Total fail. read more

Fantastic experience. Also I am coincidentally Mike H just like the owner but I assure you I am not him! I am an Architect and have dealt with pretty much every appliance repair company and Michael the tech I got was simply the best I have seen. I called this company after another company with a similar name totally botched my job and I lost $600 dealing with there incompetence. And they must have gone out of business because they suddenly stopped responding to any calls or emails. Michael showed up on time the same day and knocked out my repairs with out any problems. The price might seem a little high but actually it's the same as all the other companies I've dealt with so I'm not surprised. Highly recommend! read more

This actually is a fantastic company. They gave me a number of options when they could get a Technician out to repair our dishwasher, one of which was 24hrs. The man they sent, Michael, was not only professional, but was quick and efficient. I definitely would suggest using them. read more

Dishonest and Misleading would not recommend! We called to have our dishwasher leak repaired, we received prompt same day service which was good. We were advised over the phone that call out fee would be $110 and that this would be used towards parts and repairs. When Michael arrived he found that the problem was too many suds and scooped these out with our dishes. Also used a lot of handy towels almost one roll to diagnose the issue. He proceeded to charge $160 ontop of $110 for the repair which essentially involves him scooping out suds with our dishes. We were not happy to pay $270 he so he charged us $200 instead however we are still very unhappy with the final bill $200 for just scooping out suds which surely could have been covered by $110 service fee charge. would not recommend to anyone very dishonest. read more

We've had numerous service companies send people to repair various appliances of ours, including our lemon of a SubZero fridge and our hearty but aging Miele washer/dryer. No one even remotely compares to Michael Haynes. By leaps and bounds he's been the best; we never use anyone else now. He's extremely smart, excellent at diagnosing problems, unfailingly competent at fixing them, and - critically important - trustworthy in all respects. He's also creative, having come up with ingenious solutions to seemingly intractable problems on several occasions. Incredibly for anyone in the home repair world (!), Michael also reliably returns calls promptly. Look no further for someone to install or repair your major appliances. read more

I had Choice home warranty for about 1 year. In that time my dishwasher and my pool pump broke. They said that they could not repair the items. For my dishwasher that was only 4 years old they offered me about $100.00 to replace. My pool pump they said they didn't make them anymore and that they would offer me about $250.00. I had American Home Shield for 4 years and never paid out of pocket for anything but the service call and they replaced AC and water heater. I cancelled my account before they paid out the $250.00 because I was displeased with the service so they would not pay me. I know American Home Shield costs more but id rather pay a little more monthly than get the run around I did with Choice. read more

Michael was the epitome of kind, polite, thorough and efficient. I felt he took every precaution with my Summit gas oven. Super friendly, will definitely call if I have any more appliance issues! EDIT: Turns out my oven broke shortly after this, it was clearly on the fritz - hadn't been taken care of properly before I moved in. Michael came back very quickly to identify the problem and fixed it just as fast once my replacement part was in. Great service! read more

The APPLIANCE REPAIR prominent display ad promising a 20% discount and serving all boroughs was my first choice to have a stove repaired. I was given an appointment for Friday, Oct. 17 between 1 and 4 pm. When nobody showed and I called I was given a new appointment for Sat. Oct. 18 between 1 and 4 pm....again, a no show and a call to a heavy foreign accented person told me "it was not in the computer" and promised to call back....no such thing, and my repeated phone calls went straight to voice mail without ever being returned. We called Manhattan appliance after waiting several hours for a repairman from another company that didn't show and never called. The service is excellent--from Naomi who scheduled our appointment to Michael, an extremely knowledgable repairman who fixed our ice maker using our household tools ( long story but our doorman made him leave his toolkit downstairs). I've literally never written a Yelp review but - took a day off work, was given a time they were going to come. 20 minutes before the end of that window I called them to ask if there was a delay. I was told that the AC person took the day off and that they wouldn't come today. No phone call, no notice, nothing. I don't appreciate my time being wasted - things happen but how do you not call your customers and tell them ahead of time so we can reschedule? read more
