This was the best to go experience I've had in 2021 so far. The crew was efficient, quick, friendly, and left a great lasting impression because the food was so good. They were friendly: I think I spoke to a manager (or some nice lady who worked there) because she started up a conversation on this updated Square technology that I haven't seen before. I must be out of date with technology bc I haven't seen it before. She raved about how convenient it was and even showed me a handheld feature that she can go out to peoples cars with. She was super excited and it was cute. Service: I was the first person up because they served everyone and social distancing was enforced. The wide open space, due to the removal of tables, made me feel comfortable to social distance. Additionally, I saw a woman answer and forget her mask and get flustered. As she scurried out to grab her from the car they tried to flag her down for a mask that they were offering her but she refused. That speaks to the excellent service that they have! Taste: this is easily the most satisfying meal I've had in a while from any restaurant, bar none. The locks were perfectly proportioned with the cream cheese, on a plain bagel, accompanied with a slight hint of sliced red onion, and capers. I need to replicate this at home because I was totally satisfied. I had a slice of a pickle wrapped up and on a napkin to reduce the leaking, and the meal was accompanied by a small side of potato salad. This last step was the only thing that was wrong with my mail because I ordered macaroni salad when prompted but, the potato salad was fine. I raved about all of this to my daughter and told her it was the right amount of food because I was totally satisfied; neither hungry nor craving anything afterwards. Two thumbs up to this Manhattan bagel location. I wanna visit Manhattan Bagel but only this one. I highly recommend that you do too. SOON! #hastyfoodiepic

I stopped by here to grab a bagel breakfast sandwich, before I took a long road trip. I found Manhattan Bagel on Yelp, after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. Upon entry I noticed they had a check in offer for free coffee. The line was short and I proceeded to order a bacon, egg, and cheese on a cheddar bagel. The bagel sandwich was actually pretty good, and exceeded my expectations. I'm a bagel conuissier. The bagel was very delicious, it was fresh and with the cheddar baked in the flavor was robust . The whole bagel sandwich including the eggs and bacon was also delicious. I ended up getting tea instead of coffee so I can't comment on their coffee. I would definitely get this again next time I'm in the area. Service was decent it took about 10 minutes to get my food from beginning to end. My cashier was also pleasant.

This place was interesting. We were excited to give it a try after reading all of the positive reviews. What we got was a completely different experience. When we went up to the counter there was a fly in the croissant wrap. We opted for a plan bagel and the BLT bagel to try out how good their traditional items were and we were disappointed. As soon as we took a bite of the bagel it deflated to a flat pancake. I liked the pepper sauce on the BLT bagel but that was about it. The flavor was pretty flat and so was the bagel after you take your first bite. It photographed well but I'll keep searching for a good tasting bagel.

    Everything Bagel - pre-smushed.

Love their system. Always consistent and the wait is never that bad - even when their getting slammed from a rush of customers.

Bagels are small. Food is expensive for what you get and service can be very, very slow.

Such a mixed review & experience. We made reservations for Sunday brunch and glad we did as the…read moreplace got crowded quickly. On one hand I want to try again for dinner but for the price, I'm not sure it's worth it. Pros: Amazing service - very attentive server(s); we had one in training/shadowing and she was just as good as our primary server, offering refills, clearing plates, overall greet banter Cocktails are fantastic - had the Minnie Ripperton and loved it - creamy yet refreshing and bright which is a tough combo to achieve Cons: Hidden entrance - after circling what looked like an abandoned building 2x we finally figured out the entrance was in the backy and down a set of stairs. I now understand the "speakeasy vibe" but the clutter in the front made the building look abandoned or under construction; not a great start to the experience for us Food service - the other couple we were dining with got their entrees about 10 minutes before ours and we were some of the first orders & diners of the day. Usually you might hold the whole table or refire some of the dishes so it all comes out at the same time. They finished theirs before we even got our to start, making it a strange eating experience Small print menu - with the low light of the speakeasy, the menu had the teeeeniest print I've ever seen making it very difficult to read the menu options. We also didn't realize that the menu changes/is seasonal (not called out on the website) so many of the items we had wanted to try were not an available option. I love a menu that changes but hope it's indicated on the website (aka: sample menu, subject to seasonal change) Hit-n-miss: Fried chicken Benedict- huge portions, amazing biscuits and perfectly poached (but unseasoned?) eggs. I don't know if the hollandaise soaked into the fried chicken or never existed at all - and that's the thing you want with a Benedict. If it existed, it never reached the biscuits because while they were good, but were completely dry Shrimp and grits - perfectly cooked, great consistency, but very under-seasoned Water - just an observation and maybe it's just the local tap water flavor but it tasted off or as off the soap hadn't been washed from the glasses Pro Tip: be aware of the automatic gratuity in some circumstances; if you don't know, check the website before your meal!

I'm glad, because with it being slightly off the 'main drag' in Middletown, we might not have seen it otherwise. We arrived towards the end of the dinner rush hour, and fortunately were seated over by where a musician was playing. It was a busy night, and we were tired and hungry from a day at the faire. As it was busy, there were sportsball games going and the musician playing, shouting was required for discussion and we had some funny misunderstandings YOUR GRAPE IS ON THE MOON? WHAT? Oh, your gravy is a little cool! :) The musician was great, playing lots of 70s and 80s hits, and he seemed to enjoy us singing along and dancing. We are, after all, rennies. We're glad he was enjoying us as much as we were enjoying his music. We got drinks and menus quickly, and our server was attentive without being pushy. After a few minutes looking over the menu, she appeared and we ordered. I got the Stampede Burger, while one of my friends got the Prime Dip sandwich (AKA French Dip), and one got chicken fingers. All came in reasonable time and were quite good, hearty food. So, why the one star off? Dessert. Could we have a brownie sundae? Out of brownies. OK, how about chocolate cake? Out of that, too. Uh...red velvet? Out. Basically everything chocolate. Sigh. Yeah, it was busy but not insane. We ended up not getting dessert, and it was disappointing. Whoever's managing food orders and prep, please do better. Also, if it's not available, it would have been great for the server to say so up front, that way she didn't have to tell us no 3 times. Parking in a private lot, plentiful. We would go again, we just will plan on dessert elsewhere.

The bar was full and most of the tables in the dining area were full. We opted to sit towards the front that has a few booths. Also, the place is a "Seat Yourself" establishment. The customer service was amazing, as both of our waitresses were the sweetest. We ordered Lemon Pepper wings, Jerk Chicken Empanadas, and Tuscan Chicken. We also had these watermelon mocktails the bartender whipped up for us that were sooooo good. Although the food took a long time to come out, it was certainly worth the wait! The wings were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Tuscan Chicken was good and well portioned also. However, the star of the show was the Jerk Chicken Empanadas! They must have marinated that chicken for at least 1-2 days because the jerk taste was so powerful. Tasted like it was made on the streets of Jamaica. The sauce that comes with it was the perfect pairing as well. The food was so good, I went back the next day with my husband so he could try. They also have DJ's on Fridays and I believe Karaoke on Thursdays. I will for sure be visiting again to try more from their menu.

Since our experience at another location was positive, we decided to stop by for lunch. When we walked inside, we were greeted by a friendly host. She seated us right away and we began to browse the menu. We knew what we wanted to order, so we sat patiently waiting for someone to acknowledge two hungry customers. One waitress tended to the customers seated at the booths on the left side of the restaurant. She had her back turned toward us the whole time. We began looking around to see if anyone else was available. We couldn't get any eye contact from her, so we knew that she wasn't going to take her order. 10 minutes went by and we were still staring at all of the employees who weren't coming our way. The restaurant was not busy and had plenty of open tables, so we became frustrated. I finally got up and asked to see if someone could take our order. They finally sent someone over to our table. He was a friendly young guy and service was great. However, no one should have to walk through a restaurant that had very few customers and ask to have someone take their order. When we went to pay the bill, the same waitress who wouldn't acknowledge us rang us up. She took the bill, asked if we wanted a receipt. That's all that she said. This lady did not want to speak to us at all. So basically, I cannot recommend Bob Evans in Delaware to any of my friends or family. The food was ok, for anyone that was wondering....
