Umm so we have been sitting here 30 minutes even though my husband had an appointment . We have watched several people come and go. He finally went to the front desk to find out the girl never checked him in. Maybe your receptionist should stay off her personal phone actually do her job. What was the point of even making an appointment and she didn't even apologize. We won't be coming back. Such a waste of our time. ANTONIO DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO CUT HAIR, HE DOES NOT LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS, IS RUDE, AND HAS NO CONCEPT OF RESPECT FOR HIS CUSTOMERS. We unknowingly walked into a horrible horrible situation. When we stopped by for haircuts during a recent visit to the beach. We waited for the previous client to walk out - that persons hair was everywhere - absolutely a disgusting mess EVERYWHERE - I asked him if he could clean up and he just ignored me. Fast forward to my 2 yr old getting his haircut: Antonio started yelling at ME when I tried to instruct him on what I wanted for my 2yr old's hair - he started cutting and completely refused to listen to me at all - he repeatedly said it's his style - he ruined my son's hair!!! He then proceeded to give my husband a horrible haircut and yelled at him because he wanted us to tip a full 20% and not less (he charged $25 each and my husband offered him $8, to which he yelled at him for!!). After my son's haircut, I wanted to clean the hair off my son's face in the restroom - this is when it got even more OBSCENE... There was a young man LIVING in the side room attached to the bathroom - a room the size of a broom closet next to the toilet . Horrible experience at this overpriced rip off! Tony gave my dad a five minute "Trim" when I told him a regular short haircut. For $25 plus tip! With no customers waiting! Really. What a gyp... Last Sunday go at 2 to get a haircut. No one there. Maybe at lunch go back at 3 no one ne there. Fast forward to next Saturday. Sit in parking lot till 9:15. No one shows. They say they open at 9. Get home 9:25 call. Person answering phone tells me yes they open at 9 and he was running for late but " I am here now answering the phone". Go back 1 in chair 3 waiting. So much for my schedule. I recently moved into the area and was in the market for a local barber, so I happened across this place. I described what I wanted (a pompadeur) and how I liked my hair to lay (including a discussion about my cowlick). The entire haircut lasted approximately 10-15min and included thinning shears (this is a no-no for individuals with thick hair). I wasn't going to leave a review, but I just noticed that my cowlick was lost to the clippers. This may still be a great place if you want a more simple cut, but for me, the search continues. read more

Tony DiNardo has been cutting my hair for 5 years now, and he is the best barber I have found in the South Bay. Having grown up in Italy, he has been a barber since he was 14, so in a sense, he's a prodigy. He has the gift of being able to look at your head, face, and the texture of your hair, and come up with the best look for you, something so many barbers don't take the time to do, perhaps because they feel rushed. Tony will take his time with you. His artistry, sense of humor, and the "old time" atmosphere of his shop, all combine to make it a great experience every time I go. Horrible experience and will never go back and I wouldn't send anyone back there either. We call to see if they offer a straight razor shave and there is a guy that says he does it. Two of us went in to get a shave and I go first. My neck looks like my 5 year old nephew shaved me and I was covered in cuts and knicks. Then my friend goes after me and he ends up getting a nasty cut under his chin-so bad that it didn't stop bleeding and the barber tells him he isn't going to charge him for the shave. What kind of barber would take on work like this if he can't do it right? I can't believe that he is advertising that he does these shaves, he has no business doing that. They charge $23 for the shave and I wouldve been better off going and buying a new proglide razor, extra cartridges, and shaving cream for the same price it cost me to get my face all cut up. Overall, a horrible experience and I would never step foot in that place again. The worst thing is the barber didn't seem to care or think he did a bad job, he was "ok" with the work he did which is what made it unbelieveable. You are better off going to Floyds barber shop in Hermosa or Eddies in Torrance, they at least have professional people working there. This Barber shop should not be used by anyone who did not grow up in the 1950s. I went in there today and had some simple instructions on how to cut the back of my neck and the back of my head / hair. The possibly 70 year old man, who barely speaks English had no clue as to what I was saying. The style I was asking for is very common among Latinos. I also have long hair and am a man. I even drew pictures of what I wanted. The result was that he took my back hair line halfway up my head almost to my crown. I had both barbers there in on the whole thing. neither had a good grasp of English. Both were so confused I am surprised they didn't decapitate me. He also did my beard, but didn't even do a good job on that. It is still crooked. In the end when I looked in the mirror I was blown away. If this guy ever says to you, "I know what you mean ," DON'T trust him. You will be sorry. The only thing these guys know how to do is to make your hair shorter. They are not stylists. And if you are not a native Italian over 60 years old, they will not have a clue about your hair. They will screw it up I guarantee. This business has been there a really long time. Like 40 years. So I don't know why the language is still a problem for them, they have had plenty of time to learn English. After I viewed my horrible catastrophe and was obviously upset about it, he still insisted that I payed full price (23 dollars). He kept saying, "Momma mia, I did-a exactly-a what you -a told me to-a." It was a freaking cartoon. If you did not star on Leave it to Beaver, DON'T go to this Barber Shop. They are morons and will mess you up bad. Anyone with anything other than a 1950 buzz cut should steer clear of this place. Any barber shop that only knows one thing, how to make an existing hair cut shorter, and their only question is "How much," should be avoided I learned today. They are simple folk, and they cut the hair of simple, long-toothed folk. Republicans might like it. Old white men might like it. If the only question you want to answer about your hair cut is, "How much?" then this place might be for you. they should call their shop, "Keep the Same Only Shorter Barber Shop." But then again, they really can't even do that, because before I went in my back hair line did not run through the crown of my head, now it does. Thank you Luiggi or whatever your name is. Shut your shop down and sing opera or something. get out of the hair business. Or maybe Pet Hair cuts they could do? But I wouldn't put my pet through that even. Oh and by the way, when they ask How Much, if you answer in inches THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT AN INCH IS. I kid you not. They have never heard of an inch before, and don't even get them started on fractions of an inch. Maybe they know the metric system or something, but do NOT go into talking about inches. They will be so confused, they will have steam coming out of their ears. This is NOT AN UPSCALE place unless you are a simpleton from the backwoods, which is what I am assuming the previous reviewer of this place must be. UPSCALE??? Are you kidding me?
