I read the reviews they're right near my house I came by and unfortunately I had a negative experience. As other reviewers mentioned it was a very rushed job My neck was not shaved and the actual polish of the haircut was substandard. It got weird when I went to go pay for it and the guy and I wish I knew what his name was but was strange. Not rude just weird. I will not be coming back. I called 3 times to get info in what prices were, the guy was rude rushed me off the phone called again Eddie was actually nice but said to call back and book with the other guys as he wasn't going to be there as it was his day off. I'm really between 2-3 stars. Having just moved to the area, I've been looking for a barber and haven't had great luck. Why? Expensive. $22 to get my lettuce trimmed seems like a lot - especially when it's "just okay" (meaning I have to go home, take out the clippers and clean up my new haircut.) What I really despise is the lack of respect for my time. I walked in to Stormy's the other day and the barbers barely acknowledged my arrival and could't inform me that I'd have a :30 minute wait. In fact, none of the shops in the area tell you, "Welcome, there are two people in front of you and it will be approximately :45 minutes." Good shop good value. People that give 1 star on a $20 hair cut crack me up... first you have to talk to your barber. You can't assume words mean the same thing everywhere . Now that I am a mom to two boys I am learning about manly places like barber shops! Woo hoo! I walked in with my sons to get a haircut for my three year old. I didn't tell the barber that my son hates haircuts bc I just wanted to play it out. They turned off the hip hop music and put baseball on. I don't care if my three year old listens to hip hop but that was a nice gesture :) The barber did a wonderful job with my son, I am impressed. He had good patience and moved with my sons every twitch. I am happy and what's even better is this place is walking distance from my house! This place has a classic barber shop feel (ok from what I've seen in movies!) with the red chairs and mirrors on one wall, plenty of seating on another wall, TV, sports memorabilia-bobble heads too! I gave 1 star only because 0 is not available. I gave Cristina very specific instructions as to which numbers to use where so as to conceal a prominent surgical scar. I've been getting my haircut in a certain way for years. My stylist from the past 10 years recently retired, leaving me to find someone new. Suffice it to say Cristina didn't listen, and I was shocked when I saw how she had butchered my hair to essentially expose and highlight the scar. I must now walk around for several weeks answering questions about the scar and its origin. I'm having a lot of trouble calming down, but every time I glance at myself in a mirror, I get upset again. read more

You honestly get what you pay for. I live a block away.. And I would much rather drive an hour or so to any other barber. Every time I go to these redondo barbershops I leave feeling worse then going in. I've made the mistake of going to Stormy's plenty of times... I have learned that convenience is not worth the bad cut. I don't appreciate a lazy barber I'm not going to wait for you to check your texts and or flip threw channels. And I expect a razor shave finish and a good beard line up without all the added costs... Barbers need to stop being lazy. And you can't use the excuse that a person has difficult hair. I'm better off fixing it myself. Although some of the barbers are decent. The services feel really disingenuous. And blocking clients on instagram bc of a bad comment is also really classy. If I am looking for a different barber within your shops I would think its bad customer service to block them off of social networks. Real barbering is a lost art. I would be really impressed if any of those barbers in these shops make an effort to reach out ,if they plan on keeping good rapport with their clients. Change my experience of how I view you if your reputations are so important. I've lived in this community for 17yr+ you would think that a local resident would receive genuine treatment. A nice barber shop with an old school feel. There's a lot of cool sports memorabilia at this place such as dodger bobble heads, various boxing photographs and artwork of athletes. It's kinda pretty neat to check out all the stuff while you're getting zipped up. A regular adult hair cut is 15. Since there's a rotation of barbers I can't really comment on who you'll get. I'm pretty sure I had a "first" paid hair cutting experience here. The person that cut my hair did it entirely using clippers, no scissors necessary. It just seems kinda strange to pay for a haircut when somebody doesn't even bother using scissors. It almost feels like I'm in college and a dorm mate just cut my hair. This place is a true mans barber shop. I've gotten haircuts from 4 different barbers and been happy every time. Although John is my main guy (Raider Nation) I'll take a cut from anyone. Last time i was in some young guy probably 20 years old walked in and said "Give me a Miley Cyrus." The barber says "whats a Miley Cyrus" and the guy has an iron on picture of Miley Cyrus on a Hanes black t shirt. It was very awkward but they handled it like a pro. We walked in to Stormy's and the girl with the green hair stood up to greet us, while the guy with a face full of metal and heavily tatted body watched. Stormys is a fun and nostalgic barber shop experience. I got Kerry who is sweet and gives a thorough cut for a great price. She even uses a straight razor at times to shave the back of your neck, how legit is that?! The atmosphere is unassuming and welcoming. Upon leaving you even may hear a "good looking out", beach slang for "thanks for coming in". The crew is so welcoming that some people in the shop are just hanging out...its questionable as to whether these loiterers have jobs, let alone homes. read more

Love this place. Been getting my ears lowered here for years. The staff has really fluctuated over time, but in the last year or so they've been pretty consistent with just having two main guys there to cut hair: John and Sway. Fortunately, these two were always the best. Not to mention the nicest, so I'm stoked to see them around so much more. The facility is also very clean, and well decorated for a cool atmosphere. These guys also love their LA sports, so there's almost always a game on tv. Hell, at times they've even given me a beer or two out of the fridge. What's not to love about Stormy's? read more

I've been getting my hair cut at Stormys for about 6 years now, and I always loved everything about it. Sway was the best barber I've ever had, and always the friendliest. But today I went to get my haircut at Stormys and the place was totally redone, the decor gone, the people gone, and now it's just pictures of half naked women on the walls where great tributes to local sports and pop culture stars once were. The renowned red seats and signage were ditched in favor of black everywhere and black wooden bench seating. I didn't know either of the barbers in there and the one that cut my hair, while nice, left me lopsided on both sides by a big margin (which I didn't notice until I got home because he put mousse in my hair) and had shaved my beard but left a weird goatee and the next hair below my chain. It looked like o had a landing strip on my face. Just a totally unfinished, half-effort job. And it's not like he was rushing me out the door, there was mo one else there and it was mid-afternoon.
