Was dying for a juicy cheeseburger and remember a great burger I had here years ago, but the last visit was disappointing; unfortunately we gave it another shot. Had to wait FOREVER just to get a drink at the bar, then another long wait to order food. I requested specifically wanted pink in my burger. We ordered salad, bone-in wings and medium "pink" burger. Was told that bartender was an owner and chef and burger would be pink. Wings arrived, boneless :( Burger was dry as a bone with hardly any flavor, wings were re-ordered and arrived piping hot, but dry as a bone. Bartender NEVER inquired how the food was, even though we didn't eat half. I requested a couple limes in my cocktail, received 2 dried up limes, which were old and shriveled and were not refreshed on my second drink. Nope, won't be back. It sucked. read more

Went here the day after Christmas. We were able to sit immediately. It is very small in there so larger parties might have a harder time getting sat. I got a burger. It was pretty good, but nothing special. I would definitely return and try something new on the menu. I have been to Manhattan Exchange a handful of times. Don't skip this place. They definitely have a solid burger. I got the Wisconsin Butter burger, it was huge and delicious. They have decent cocktails, one of my friends got a spicy musk which was delicious. The servers were very attentive, service was a little slow because it's Saint Patrick's Day weekend, but they checked in frequently. It's clean inside and has a nice patio for warmer days. read more

One of the best things about Manhattan Exchange is they are always updating their menu, a few times a year. I absolutely love the new menu items. The sticky ribs were crispy and tender with delicious sauce. Very cute place! Server was friendly and fast and accommodating for my 6 year old. I had the patty melt and it was good but definitely a fork and knife deal. My fiancé had the chicken vodka hoagie and loved it. Chicken wings need to be crispier and I would have liked something to dip my sweet potato fries in. read more

Restaurant was not ready for restaurant week. We had to wait over 20 minutes for our table (despite having a reservation) and were told sorry and that they'd had a lot of walk-ins (okay sorry then turn them away since you took reservations...) We then waited a very long time to be asked for our orders, for our drinks, and for every single course. It was over 2 hours from our rez time to the time at which we actually got food. We had not been informed of any updates and had to ask about the status/if the kitchen forgot about us. Additionally, we had to ask for water refills every time we needed more because no one was really checking on us, only coming by to serve food late and/or clear. Also there was not the best dish consistency. We had selected this restaurant for the restaurant week menu specifically, only to find out once we got there that they had changed multiple things. The orecchiette was actually pappardelle (close enough I guess, but I like orecchiette much better) and the filet was actually meatloaf (not close enough imo and we picked this place wanting the filet specifically). Additionally, we had three people get the shrimp dish and two of them looked and tasted great/the same, but the third (which came out like 5 minutes later for some weird reason) was in a big bowl of broth! It looked totally different and more like ramen than a pasta dish... If you don't have the staff and place ready for restaurant week, don't do it and if you don't have the capacity for more tables, stop accepting reservations and/or walk-ins. We were apologized to about the delay, but were never offered anything to make up for it so likely will not be returning (which is a shame because the food tasted good). read more

Great spot for a casual lunch, nice location, decent drink options and a menu that has mostly classic American fare with some unique offerings as well. Service was decent, could have been more welcoming to begin but ended well. I had to try the Apple Cider Sangria, I enjoyed it and it was pretty boozy and definitely delivered those fall vibes I was looking for. My friend said it was almost too boozy. (Not for me lol) For an app, we went with the campus fries. It's was thick crispy curly fries, cheese sauce, tender beef, peppers and some other flavors too. It was reallllly good. The fries were really unique. I went with the Cobb salad, which was loaded with blue cheese, bacon and juicy chicken. The blue cheese dressing was also really good and I can be picky with blue cheese. The avocado on it was more like guacamole, which I didn't love. My friend got the Butter Burger which looked really good and she enjoyed it, even though it was on a salty side. Everything coming out of the kitchen were burgers so they must be good! Walking in this place is quite small. There is indoor/outdoor seating with one room dedicated to the bar area. They only had one server who was working inside and outside so service was a little on the slow side with forgotten items like plates and silverware. Our appetizers arrived and they were delicious . The only thing I can say is they were a little cold I'm sure from just having the one server and they needed just a little more sauce. Our entrees which consisted of shrimp tacos, chicken sandwich and a burger were very good . I would like to have seen the cherry pepper mayo on my chicken sandwich to be a little thicker . Let's talk burgers. Manhattan Exchange is making and serving some really good burgers. We arrived on what turned out to be the last day of Schenectady Restaurant Week. There was a special menu for that occasion, but the regular menu was also available and we decided to concentrate on that one. Recently, ME won an award in the Schenectady Soup Stroll with their Smoked-Tomato Soup with Parmesan Pork Belly Grilled Cheese ($4). It was the soup of the day on this day and my wife ordered it as an appetizer. I got to taste it and agreed with her that it was truly flavorful and worthy of receiving an award. And they served a good sized portion for the price. They offer seven different Burger preparations, any of which can also be made as a veggie burger. Both my wife and I had initially focused on the same burger combo, the Fresno Burger ($14), so I offered to go with my second choice, the Hot Truffle Burger ($14), so that we'd have some variety to compare. I also knew that my wife was not likely to be interested in trying my burger since she doesn't enjoy the flavor of truffle. Both burgers were served a beautiful medium-rare as requested and the patties had a nice crispy outer finish for added texture. The Fresno, with its cheddar cheese, jalapeño, bacon, fried egg, and avocado mayo was a delicious blend of flavors. The egg yolk oozed out as she cut the burger in half and the jalapeño slices added just the right amount of spiciness. My Truffle Burger also had some spiciness in the truffle mayo and while I didn't think the truffle flavor overpowered the other flavors in the burger, the flavor was noticeable enough that I didn't insist on my wife taking a bite. The fried sage added a nice crunch to each bite and while the crispy prosciutto didn't seem very crispy compared to the sage its flavor blended well with the mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Overall, two great burgers and excellent fries - mine were sweet potato and my wife's were regular. They were out of several draft, craft beers, maybe due to restaurant week, so I tried an Industrial Arts' Wrench IPA ($7). Described as a New England IPA, its hazy pale yellow color helped to reinforce my taste buds' recollection of grapefruit. Since ME has only been open under this new ownership for about six weeks, a few weak spots are still apparent. My wife was not informed that they did not serve Saratoga Water as a glass of Schenectady's tap water was placed in front of her as a substitute. Preparations seemed slow in coming out of the kitchen for several of the occupied tables until a man at the bar removed his coat and proceeded into the kitchen. During the time we were there, several parties were either turned away or chose to leave after a short wait. Hopefully, these shortcomings will soon be overcome as we'd enjoy returning to try more items on the menu. They do have Trivial Pursuit cards on each table to help you occupy your wait time. read more

This place is AMAZING! The owners really crushed it with this newly renovated property. The food is delicious because chef Kris is absolutely stellar. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here. We highly recommend the famous pork belly burger, Wisconsin burger, French onion soup, mashed potatoes, and their hot wings are insanely good. Gorgeous interior, beautiful original artwork on the walls along with tons of TVs for sports fans. It is just a fantastic atmosphere, with great people and service. We had a group of three and sat at the bar to avoid waiting for a table. The energy in the restaurant was lively and the volume loud on a Wednesday evening. Deb was very friendly and presented us with the nightly specials. We ordered the artichoke appetizer special and the lemon francaise sauce was to die for. The entrees were greek tacos, shrimp tacos, and a philly cheese steak with a huge garden salad side. Everything was fresh, warm temperature and tasted excellent. Everyone was very please. I had a couple hours to kill and stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Nice, clean, pleasant inside, several tables available outside. I love, love, love chicken souvlaki. I had the Chicken Souvlaki tacos and they were very good. The server was very nice and service was quick. The tacos were huge, more of an entree than an appetizer but good. I write this review with the small caveat that I've only ever ate here during burger night, so my review is based solely on the Wednesday special. But with that... Holy cow! For $5.00 you get a delicious burger, cooked to order, and a generous portion of french fries. We arrived for lunch and were seated promptly upstairs, which looked relatively busy with about half the seats taken and a full bar downstairs. The waitress was attentive, and kept our drinks full and checked in after our burgers were served. We all had the Hash Brown Burger special, which was absolutely delicious with bacon, cheddar, hash brown, and a siracha aioli on top. Tough going back to work after eating that.... Next time I will come for dinner to eat the burger special. Overall, you can't beat burger night at Manhattan's. They have about 8 or so varieties to choose from, and if you don't like it... guess what, you've only spent a few bucks. read more

Been a fan for years. Used to go sit and read at the bar, dine, have some wine, chat with other locals, eat bowls of popcorn and chat with staff. The previous owner sold (and still bartends part time which she describes as best of both worlds, less stress!) and the new owners have done a beautiful renovation, opened up the space and added some great new menu items. The last time we were there we had beet salad mmmmm and potatoes gratin for apps, a couple beers and sangrias and 2 gourmet burgers with fontanella, mushrooms and arugula, but we swapped the meat for impossible burgers. Trying to order lactose free sauces and made an error, paid for the error but Bartender was still rude and confrontational , told me to just sign the bill 3 x before I had a chance to review it. Waiter also said we don't need your business on the way not to bother coming back . First time I ever didn't leave a tip in my life. Still have a 50.00 gift certificate that I will throw out Spoke to the owner today who received a bit of a different statement of events from bartender Jess Pettagrasso and I gave him my side so he could compare them . This is classic pub food with some original selections thrown in to make it interesting. I was a bit boring and ordered the taco wrap sandwich. It was delicious. It came with a side of macaroni salad which was not swimming in mayonnaise. Their house Cabernet was fine. I was not able to finish my meal and I do need to mention the very wonderful way it was packaged for me to take home. My macaroni salad and side of sour cream were in their own containers. I don't know about anyone else but I hate when they just dump your plate in a box. Yikes!!!! I almost forgot to mention the coconut sorbet. My friend and I shared one. It was wonderful. Although next time I want to try one of their burgers and if they have the sorbet, I want to tell them I have a fabulous idea how to serve it. Yum!!! Service was great. I am a lifelong resident of Schenectady and was curious to see how the new Manhattan Exchange compared to the old one. It was way better than what I expected. We sat outside and I was very impressed how the staff sanitized chairs and tables and all properly wore their masks. My husband ordered the shrimp tacos and I ordered the lobster avocado. Both were excellent! They far exceeded our expectations. Not at all your average pub food. I would go back again and again and definitely will add them to the takeout list. On top of it all, our waitress was juggling a lot of tables and still managed to provide excellent service. This has definitely become one of our new favorite spots in Schenectady. read more

First Time here but I'll be back. Five of us ordered quite a few items and EVERYTHING was Delicious- Scallops, Crab Cakes. We ordered take out on a Saturday night. I had the Honor Roll and Cobb salad with ranch. The honor roll was delicious! Cobb salad was very fresh- they forgot the egg, and instead of avocado, they substituted a small side of guac. I was really hoping for homemade ranch dressing, but that wasn't the case. Hubs and son got the Wisconsin Butter burger. Both were very pleased with their meals- and both were cooked as they like them. Thumbs up for that! My husband is from Wisconsin and was so happy to have something that reminded him of home!
