The garlic parm had more of a parm taste, but the flavor wasn't all that great. The jalapeño was better with flavor, but still not where it needed to be. Fries were the best part. Server was unprofessional, not very friendly. I'd come back, but only if it's my only choice.

I arrived a few minutes before halftime and sat at the bar. It wasn't busy, maybe six people total. I initially sat near the end by a column and figured the bartender might not notice me right away, but as a former bartender myself, I assumed he'd eventually make his way around the bar to check on guests. That never happened. After a couple of people left, I moved closer to the front of the bar near the entrance. A few more minutes passed before the bartender finally approached me. I had already grabbed my own menu from behind the bar area by that point. When I ordered, he asked if the food was "to go," which honestly made me feel like my sitting there during the game was more of an inconvenience than business. I ordered food and a drink. By the time my food came out, my drink was already about three-quarters gone, which would have been the perfect opportunity to check back in or offer another round. The food runner brought out my meal, but the bartender never checked on me once. I would have gladly ordered additional drinks, but I was never asked. Basic hospitality and bar service 101: check on your guests and keep the interaction going. I ate my food without so much as another drink to help wash it down. I closed out and left; there wasn't even a "thanks for coming in" or "have a good night." I ended up going elsewhere afterward to watch the 4th quarter, having a few more drinks, and receiving significantly better service. As someone who used to bartend, this experience was frustrating because good bar service is not complicated. A bartender who stays engaged with guests will naturally sell more drinks, create a better atmosphere, and earn better tips. I still tipped 17% because I don't stiff people, but that below my usual 25%+. That level of service didn't even deserve what I left.

They had good music playing we were singing and dancing in our seats the whole time. Our waitress was friendly, she made conversations and recommendations. We shared the French toast it was light and the sauce was amazing but it was overall very sweet. I had the catfish and grits which was extremely well done and I left with leftovers. Overall it was a great experience. They do have an 18% gratuity on all meals so it was a bit pricey but overall I highly recommend this place.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Double Nickel on September 11, 2026…read more Our food was ordered at 11:14 AM and did not arrive until 11:55 AM. We waited approximately 41 minutes for our food: a BLT with fries, Chicken & Waffles, and a crab cake platter with over-easy eggs and potatoes. Unfortunately, when the food finally arrived, EVERYTHING was cold. I brought this to the manager's attention, and I was offered the option to have the food reheated. Reheated? How do you properly reheat bacon that has already been cooked? Fries that have already been deep-fried? A waffle? Over-easy eggs? At that point, I would have expected the food to be remade fresh, rather than reheated. The food itself had good flavor, which makes the experience even more disappointing because I would have liked the opportunity to actually enjoy it fresh. Instead, I couldn't eat my meal. Paying $20 for a cold BLT and cold fries after waiting 41 minutes is simply not acceptable. Unfortunately, the customer service experience made things even worse. The manager's energy came across as rude, uninviting, and unwilling to genuinely listen or assist with the situation. When a customer has waited 41 minutes and receives an entire meal cold, I would expect the manager to be empathetic, listen to the concern, and make a genuine effort to resolve it. There were also some things happening throughout the restaurant that were concerning from a cleanliness and professionalism standpoint. I observed the bartender and employees playing cards at the bar, while kitchen staff were walking around the dining area in their aprons. I also witnessed a kitchen employee rub their nose with their apron. Seeing an apron used in that manner was especially concerning to me from a food-safety and sanitation perspective as aprons shouldn't be worn outside of the kitchen. I understand that restaurants can have busy days and that mistakes happen. However, the combination of the 41-minute wait, an entire meal arriving cold, the response from management, and the lack of professionalism and cleanliness I observed made this a very disappointing experience. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Customers should be able to expect their food to arrive hot and fresh, and when something goes wrong, they should feel that management genuinely cares about making it right.

The space feels open and lively, and the staff is consistently welcoming and quick with recommendations. The food options looked really delicious but we already had dinner.
