We give Manhattan Heights a 4 out of five based on the music itself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is absolutely loud. Their music is very loud so it's hard to hold a conversation with the person in front of you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My spouse and I ended up sitting side to side so we could hold a conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Besides the atmosphere the food was absolutely delicious! I had the fish tacos and my spouse had the Hawaiian chicken. Although my spouse did say he would order something different as he didn't really like his Hawaiian chicken. The brussel sprouts were amazing! Gosh I wish we would have ordered more of those and their Mac & cheese was good. For dessert the creme brulee was very yummy. Parking is limited. So it was difficult to park.

We made reservations and were seated immediately on Mother's Day. The service throughout was great, served quickly. This placed is owned by same owner as Thirty 5ive Tavern and we love it there so we knew we would enjoy this. It looks almost the same as Thirty 5ive Tavern. Prime rib was good, not as juicy as my previous at Thirty 5ive. The Raspberry Martini was delicious.

While spending the holidays at El Paso, I went to Manhattan Heights to meet my boyfriend's best friend for dinner and drinks. Service was impeccable, they really went above and beyond to make our evening enjoyable. The beef melted in my mouth and I'm still daydreaming about those bacon wrapped shrimp. They have an above average wine selection if that's your thing and a wide variety of cocktails. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was packed which made sense for a Saturday, but our dining experience still felt intimate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It would be a great choice for a date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A couple of weeks ago, my friend and I finally checked out Manhattan Heights Tavern & Grill. I'd been meaning to go since it opened about a year ago, but I hadn't seen much buzz about it online. When we arrived, the layout threw us off a bit. There's a cigar bar and an outdoor patio, but they're not really connected, which made things a little confusing. We found three different doors, and not all of them worked, but we eventually figured it out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking in was a nice surprise! It had a cozy, dimly lit vibe that reminded me of places like the Daily Grill. The dark wood, high walls, and tin roof gave it a warm atmosphere. It felt exclusive and intimate, making it easy to see why some prominent folks might choose to dine here. The booths offered plenty of privacy, and the staff was really discreet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Speaking of the staff, they were fantastic! Our waitress was super friendly and filled us in on the place, mentioning it's run by the same team behind the Pelican, which made us excited for the food. I was bummed to find out that the prime rib is only available on Wednesdays and Sundays, but we made the most of happy hour specials and ordered some appetizers. We got the ahi tuna tower, which looked great but was kinda bland. The same went for the ceviche--it was decent but needed more flavor. The quality of the mango and fish was top-notch, though, so we ended up drizzling some soy sauce from the tuna on the ceviche to kick it up a notch. For my main dish, I ordered the steak sandwich, and it was delicious--flavorful and tender, especially with the extra au jus for dipping. My friend had a wedge salad and some appetizers that filled her right up. She also loved the wine, and the pours were super generous. What really surprised us was the bill. For a steakhouse that feels high-end, the prices were surprisingly reasonable. Considering the great food and service, it felt like a steal. I definitely want to bring my husband back for a celebration and try the prime rib and some desserts. Manhattan Heights Tavern & Grill is a solid spot for steak lovers and offers a really nice dining experience. -TODOELPASO 2829 Montana Ave Suite 100, El Paso, TX 79903

Everything was excellent, highly recommend. We had the seared ahi appetizer & several different cocktails & Lagunitas (on tap). The drinks were tasty & well-poured, with lots of attention to detail like Jamaica ice cubes! Food included the seafood pasta & Saturday steak special, even the clam chowder was really tasty too. Excellent service. Love this little gem in Five Points.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is nice. Decor is modern, music is kinda loud, plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bar is big for date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was a little slow but good. Never had to hunt anyone down for a refill. Food- one thing I would HIGHLY recommend is that they change their plates. Those plates are horrible for their presentation. We ordered ahi tuna and calamari. I was not a fan of the calamari due to the breading being too much for me. I can't comment on the ahi tuna because I didn't try it. 3 of us ordered the pecan crusted salmon which is a good size fish, with light crust on it. It only comes with the fish and not even a side (they do provide a soup or salad). That sucked. I ordered a side of mashed potatoes which were good. My brother though ordered Brussel sprouts and they were soooo good. I would go back just for those! I will be returning but Ya'll change the plates to make your presentation better. But great on flavor.

For those of you that LOVE eating at The Thirty5, but hate Driving all the way East and wish they were closer, your prayers have been answered. Manhattan Heights is literally the sister restaurant to the Thirty5. Same Identical menu, same daily specials, same Happy Hour. The ONLY difference is Heights is open for Lunch Wed.-Fri. and has about 10 lunch specials that range from a steak to seafood and a Geske Salad. Otherwise, we've seen this show before. Which was kind of a let down to be honest. I went o see what was NEW, what was different! You name a place Manhattan Heights, and if your not an El Paso Native, your thinking New York MANHATTAN. Heights as in ELEVATED. The bar shape, the tables and the chairs are even all the same as the ones at the Thirty5. They even have the same little set of wine cages you can buy. The place is just BIGGER. inside. Not so cramped. The not quite finished patio appears that it will be smaller then the Thirty5 just on sight. The food and service, well obviously this is a different staff and cooks. Our staff was super attentive, but this was a Sunday early evening, no cowboys on, they had just finished, and only about two other tables and a group in front of the large windows facing Montana and the 5,points bus terminal. So not too busy at all. We had Peel and eat shrimp appetizer with fried zucchini and mushrooms as well. Both were delicious, I love their shrimp like this. And fried mushrooms?? Yes please! Applicable Ranch for dipping them and the zucchini. No one was feeling a steak tonight so not sure how well they do those here, one got caldillo, it was full of meat, and a few potatoes. She really liked it. Another and I split a prime rib sandwich. No prime rib on Sundays (and why not???) So this is a way to have it, I assume it's from Saturday leftover. Honestly prime rib does make the best sandwiches the next day when I make one! They don't slice it up thin or anything, you get what appears to be at least a 10oz slice of prime rib on a hoagie style roll and serve it with lettuce and sliced tomatoes on the side of you want to add that but also have hot Au Jus so you can dip it like a French Dip. It was so SO good. My last fried got the crab stuffed tilapia. Now I have gotten that before and it's the one dish I won't order again. I just didn't like it, not the taste or the texture, it just didnt agree with me. Another time I was with a dining club and a friend got it and stopped eating about 1/3rd of the way thru the dish. I told him my feelings about it and he agreed, he's not be ordering it again. But TONIGHT, this friend LOVED IT. and it did look different from when I've seen it or ordered it at the Thirty5. It had cheese all melted on top and seemed to have some kind of cream sauce. He said it reminded him of a crab Thermador he used to get at a seafood place. He just raved about it and how much crab there was, but wondered why they used such a cheap fish like tilapia when they could have chosen a better white fish. So all food was amazing. So was the service, the dark, lowlights, lends itself to intimate conversation. So the reason for only 4 stars is I was just was hoping to see some new items on the menu. Like a lobster tail, a porterhouse and or tomahawk steak or tomahawk pork chop. And can we get some bread and butter on the table? And it's TIME and this is the place, for a new soup. Yes we had the New England clam chowder and it was AMAZING, BEST IN EL PASO, I THINK. but we need another soup option with our meal. Maybe since this is Manhattan Heights, a Manhattan clam chowder? Congratulations on the place and location, go check it out if you can get to central, you won't be disappointed.

our spread: salad, pasta, steak & lobster, drinks, and brussels sprouts

i went here n took my partner out for our 14 month anniversary. [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place is super cute, lighting is low and romantic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] we ordered the seafood pasta, 10/10. the steak and lobster 9/10 - lobster was just lacking something i don't know. steak was great (tiny af). cesar salad appetizer 8/10 - was really good but i little dry, id have added more cesar. and a side of brussel sprouts 7.8/10 - mine are better lol. and sweet enough they split our plates for us too. total the bill was $135.00 - alright. but we wanted to do a late romantic dinner and the last reservation we could book was at 9:30, so we booked it! little did we KNOW...they closed at 10!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]were there trying to have our nice dinner and everyone is preclosing around us you can hear the dishes and the moving of chairs - just LOUD[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. for one i was beyond embarrassed, and two i felt absolutely awful. working in food service can be such a pain - i know from experience - and every food service worker hATES that person that comes in RIGHT before close. it's just rude and inconsiderate! i thought - like Ella (a cocktail lounge around the corner) perhaps the kitchen closed at 10 but the bar stayed open...nope the entire restaurant closes at 10. by the end i was rushing to eat our food and finish my drink because it was already past 10:30. i asked for a box kind of early because i didn't want to be inconsiderate of their employees who were OBVIOUSLY ready to go our server was very sweet and told us not to rush but it's our job to say that lol. spent over $165 after tip and left feeling awful and rushed. good service, good food - although some things cOULD have been better (kitchen was literally closing lol), so so environment (like i said they were CLOSING all around us). i would give this place another shot, sure. but if i had anything to say to management - its: don't keep reservation time slots so late. its completely f'ed up to do that to your employees. make the last kitchen reservation for 8:45. so your kitchen isn't practically completely pre closed by your last reservation and so that your staff isn't making all the noise in the world to get the restaurant clean at the same time of your last reservation. it's just not cool to anyone. not cool to your employees, and sure as shit not cool to people spending upwards of $160+ dollars on a night out.

Ok no biggie yet my…read morewife pointed out that they do have changing stations for babies in the restroom which is odd. Expectations and reality were nothing alike. As we were seated our waiter took 10 min to great us and then another 12 min to bring our drinks. I didn't think anything of it yet it was a precursor to the rest of our dinner. After he took our order our kids food came out in a very timely fashion but our two orders of salmon and one steak sandwich took 40 min to arrive at the table. What a ridiculous waste of my time because my sandwich was missing the fries ordered and our waiter thought nothing of it till I brought it up then he took another 10 min to bring my fries. All this while simultaneously forgetting the sauce for the salmon which also took another 10 min to bring out. The salmon was so dry it was tacky and stuck to your teeth. If you know the feeling you know it's bad. The rice that came underneath the salmon was crunchy and way undercooked. All while the waiter was like oh I can bring you free deserts for your wait all while I could only think about how I just wanted to leave. I was internally livid and exhausted but kept it to my self after seeing the owner or manager who we the guy with the white hair over at the bar enjoying a few alcoholic beverages meanwhile his restaurants service and waitstaff to the worst possible job they can. I saw the people who got the most attention and good service were all regulars sitting at the bar laughing it up with the manager/owner older guy. Why not make sure your restaurant is running smoothly and food is being delivered and prepared properly and stop trying to impress the regulars who most likely will show up either way. Any restaurant that is this unorganized and unmotivated is due to crappy management. All this and the waiter is like I'll comp you for the steak sandwich with a discount for the bad service and salmon which was a whopping $5. I don't want a discount I don't want free day old desserts I want good service and decent food. Discounts and free desserts will never fix the problem because it will always be a crutch for trashy customer service. How about stop drinking with the guests and whoop that staff into semi decent shape buy some high chairs and make sure your expo does a once over quality check on the food and time it takes to get to the table EVEN if that means stepping in and doing it yourself. The restaurant is dark the tables are sticky the whole place is very compact . Perfect and quite attractive after 5-6 wines for sure. I'm sure the food is outstanding after a few drinks as well . They gave us a $25 dollar gift card to return which if I could I'd give to the owner so he could experience the same horrible food and service we did. I wouldn't even give the gift card to someone I hated. This was one of the first times in a long time I didn't just let it slide because I understand all restaurants and people have bad days but this was exceptionally bad. If you are thinking it can't be that bad think again it absolutely can. The whole "I'm sorry we usually have awesome service and everyone loves our food it's probably just me and my family " is laughable . This isn't my first time here while visiting El Paso. The food is getting worse.

The staff was incredibly accommodating, and our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and so helpful with recommendations. The amuse-bouche of watermelon with Tajín-style seasoning was a refreshing and thoughtful start. The wedge salad was the standout of the night, generously portioned, perfect for sharing, and absolutely delicious. The pesto spaghetti was equally impressive, with a beautifully balanced sauce that wasn't overpowering. I ordered the miso black cod, which was cooked perfectly and beautifully flaky. While it leaned a bit salty for my taste, the quality of the dish still stood out. The ambiance is dark and intimate, perfect for an upscale dinner, and the iPad menus were a helpful modern touch. Never have I ever experienced a flashlight being used over our food to prove a non-valid point. At this point, I was so freakin hungry that I did not want to argue, and so I ate the dry steak. I was finna get the 6oz sirloin, which I have before and it's nice. Then I saw the 8oz Helen breast anyway you want it. Mmm I think I'll get that instead. Then I'm scanning on down the list and see 8 oz chopped round. With mushroom gravy. I can't do potatoes right now but I could do rice. And add a salad bar and some steamed broccoli, still only be about $21 and that's with the ice tea. And fresh baked bread and butter at the table. So I ordered that with gravy in the rice, cuz I likes gravy on it ALL, and I did add the Broccoli for $3.95 and a salad bar for $4.95. But she let me hold putting in the order so I could get most is the salad are before they started it. So I get it fresh, not sitting on my table for 20 minutes getting cold like last time I came when I barely got back to the table with the salad and they brought my steak out. The cook FAST here. Salad bar here is IMMENSE. And so many choices for salad, Romain, mixed greens or spinach, tons of toppings and at least 10 different kinds of dressings. At least 6 different what I call "prepared" salads like macaroni, potato, carrot, pea salad, beets and onion salad, some kind of angel hair with green online and bell peppers on olive oil and black pepper and a dash of vinegar? It's so good when they have it. Two soups always, today was tortilla and vegetable, which upon inspection looked more like a creamy potato with carrots and other veggies and diced potatoes of course, maybe they just had not changed it's name plate. I make a wonderful salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. Love chilled plates. When my lunch/dinner came it was on a huge round plate, the ground round was suspiciously SMALL. I used to work in a cafeteria and we sold 8oz chipped steaks and they were rice the size of what was in my plate. It actually really looked more like a hamburger patty. It would have fit perfectly on a small hamburger bun. If I had to guess I'd say head it's 1/3rd pound burger. Which is a tic over 5 oz. Not 8 ounces. The brucellosis was a large serving and bright green, and almost still raw. I could not cut it with a fork. I had to used a steak knife. I should have asked that it be steamed fork tender. That's on me, I guess. I just don't like "steamed" broccoli that still could pass as salad bar accoutrement. There was no gravy in the rice, even thought I expressly asked for gravy in the meat and rice. So as she sat the plate in front of me and asked if I needed any this else I said "gravy" and she said oh that's right it was supposed to be on the rice, I'll get some gravy. And a minute or so later another smiling lady brought me small bowl of gravy. The sweet tea was perfect. I even had a refill on that. The ground steak was cooked nicely, juicy and hot, the mushroom gravy was very flavorful and the rice pilaf was a perfect companion to it. I forgot to take pics, sorry, I just dug right in. This is still a great early dinner price and great choices. I'm definitely gonna get the 8 ounce chicken breast your way, next time. But which way shall I choose??? Decisions, decision!

It felt like a place you'd want to hang out for a while. Definitely make a reservation because it fills up quickly. Service was a little slow at times, but our server was super friendly and helpful with recommendations, so it didn't take away too much from the experience. The bone marrow was AMAZING!! Easily one of the highlights of the night. We also ordered the Delmonico with bone marrow butter, which was cooked well and really flavorful. Drinks were great too and very well balanced.
