Came into Hudson's Grill for lunch, was greeted at the door. It was still fairly empty in the restaurant, but the place was well maintained. By the time, we ordered our food the place had guests trickling the place was filling up quick. Decor still has that cozy, diner feel and plenty of eye catching memorabilia. It has been many years since my last visit, so I am glad we came back because we forgot how good this diner is. Deonna was our server, and she was AMAZING!!! Super friendly, professional and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. The kitchen staff made the burgers and food super delicious, our boys really enjoyed their Oreo milkshakes. and the little cardboard cars was a nice little personable touch that left a lasting imprint for our little family. So I have been to Hudson's several times over the years. The only thing I have ever liked are the hand made shakes. The food which in a place as vibrantly throwback decorated you have such high hopes for has always been sub par or messed up or just inedible. But many times I'm with others who want to go so I find myself here again on a Friday night when many other places in town were packed with 30 minute waits and Hudson's, while busy, wasn't packed. And no lines. But that didn't mean we weren't going to wait, apparently. We were sat immediately and given the very old menus and drink orders were made. Those came back quickly. I opted for the mushroom and Swiss burger, with a side salad instead of fries. To be brought on out. A dining companion opted for a cheeseburger, no burn. and side salad as well. The third in our group went also for a cheeseburger no bun and sweet potato fries. Then we sat... and sat ... and sat.... For about 30 minutes ... no one ever offered to refill our drinks... no salads ever came. ... we just chatted and look around just to see if we could even see our waitperson .. we saw many others taking care of their tables and people who came after us getting food... but we sat... wondering where at least we're our salads?? A few minutes later my companion who order the cheeseburger had his salad AND burger brought at the same time. With apologies. The rest of our food would be out... soon... well he wanted to eat but we had been given no flatware. So we sat... a few minutes later my other companion burger no bun and sweet potato fries came... we asked for forks and knives... we were told she would try to find some... a few minors later after we watched her take orders at two other tables and deliver food to another one she brought forks and knives and loose napkins to our table. Saying sorry. We ran out of silverware. So my friends started eating their burgers while they were still hot... a few minutes later one friend realized and said OH, you still haven't got your food ! I said I know ... a few minutes later the waitperson brought my burger ... with fries. ‍ But she realized it as soon as she sat it down "oh no you had the salad... just keep the fries, I don't know why the kitchen did that... I'll get your salad." So she went and got me a salad, like IMMEDIATELY... and some extra ranch I had asked for... so both of my friends were done. Still could not get drunk refills. and I didn't want to hold them up so I just ate the salad quickly and wrapped the burger and asked for to go box when they brought the check so we could leave ... the burger later at home was full of mushrooms , but very dry.. the meat was way over cooked to the point it was Hard. So if I ever ever ever go back to Hudson's I think I'll just stick to the fries and the shakes. I have had the Philly, I didn't like it much.. I've had the Alfredo but it tasted like and the consistency of the sauce was like it came from a jar. And, at least this trip, they don't even give the Blow Pops or tootsie roll pops with your ticket anymore. read more

I'm not sure when a good time to come here would be. The outside reminds me of a retro diner which was awesome. It took a bit to get service but they didn't seem busy. Our waitress had the odor of smoked marijuana and she seemed like she was just there because she had to be. My patty melt and fries were decent, the toast was very hard. We had about an hour to kill before our appointment on the Eastside so we stopped in to this old favorite. I didn't enjoy my meal very much but hubby liked his. The server was nice. The beer was average, kinda cold, not the icy cold beer I crave. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries, my husband had the rueben sandwich and fries. He enjoyed it but said he probably wouldn't order it again. My cheeseburger had all of the right stuff but the meat patty was just too dry for my liking. It tasted like it could have been microwaved. ? I would go back for drinks and football and a fun time. It's a neat old Eastside place. read more

This place has an old school rustic vibe. From pictures of Marilyn to vintage signs which are very cool! The sandwiches are huge and delicious. I honestly can't remember the last time I had a curly fry. The waitress was extremely helpful. Very good food and very friendly service. The burger was great, the brisket sandwich was delicious but the chicken sandwich was a very thin chicken cut. The customer service is spot on, the food is so good, always clean, lots of seating and the wait staff/servers are the best in the west (shout out to Isabel!) Food was terrific! BLT WITH AVOCADO WAS REALLY GOOD- lots of bacon! Onion rings and French fries! We had fried zucchini for an appetizer and an old fashion chocolate malt! The food was great as always, service was good. Cleanliness and sanitizing left a little to be desired so bring your own antibacterial spray for the menus (I watched them put them back without cleaning). Hudson's has been a memory for me since I was little, I used to come have burgers and shakes with my dad all the time and I'm so glad it's still around. Staff is Friendly and the food is good - burgers, wings, sandwiches, it's all good! The milk shakes and malts are sooooo good! The Oreo is hands down my favorite! They do have a full bar, during football season this is a titans bar!!! This makes me love it even more!!! It can be a little pricey but it is a great place to start the night. read more

Went to Hudson's yesterday for Fathers Day since my hubby loves their nachos. I had a mushroom burger and I don't know if it was my hunger or not, but it was amazing! My husband asked the waitress if the brisket for the nachos was sweet and she said yes because of the bbq sauce. He said then the fajita nachos please. They brought out the brisket in confusion. I asked to please change to fajita because my hubby hates sweet and they were very kind and quickly changed his order. Waitress was awesome, food was delicious. What is the best way to describe this place? I think if Denny's decided to have a kid with Twin Peaks, its name would be Hudson's Classic Grill. Or...to put it even more bluntly: a stoically plebeian diner with an "old school" feel to it which could otherwise be described as...easily forgettable. Going in, I sort of knew what we were getting ourselves into for our venture in "family night". I just didn't imagine the quality of the food would be so dismally executed. Though, to be fair, it wasn't ALL bad. We'll start with the appetizer.. I am an avid fan of potato skins in nearly every form imaginable. That being said, the Sante Fe Skins were...pretty good, actually. Matter of fact, the only thing they really had going against them was the noticeably bland flavor to them. A dash of table salt easily corrected the problem. So I'm not even going to bother counting this against them. Because this place has much bigger issues to worry about. Like.. Why does this place serve curly fries when they taste almost exactly the same as their straight fries, only less cooked? Seriously, I have no idea what the deal is. But it seemed like my wife's side of regular fries with her buffalo wings tasted slightly better than my curly fries with near identical texture. Also.. My daughter ordered this burger that looked like it was pan seared at a grease spoon diner (possibly way beyond the credit of this restaurant's merit). I recall looking at it wishing there were some sort of charbroil on her meat. She ate about half and I don't blame her. My wife got wings and fries as mentioned above. However, the first thing I noticed about them was how hilariously, microscopically tiny these wings were. I liked the flavor of them just fine. I just....wish they were bigger, ya know? It looked like Chicken Little screwed Tweety Bird out back and the chefs decided to serve the kids up for an appetizer. Lame. I went on a limb by ordering the Philly roast beef sandwich. See, I never really understood this concept. Philly cheese steak (which I'm assuming this is attempting to represent) is made with thinly sliced rib eye, traditionally; not roast beef. Ergo, this style of execution for said sandwich never really worked for me. It changes the overall flavor entirely. And this sandwich just didn't work for me at all. I never made it past the second half of my sandwich. Plus, it's always a really bad sign when the sides out perform the main course. The main saving grace for the evening, honestly...was the service. Our waitress was sublime. I mean, you could really tell she was trying. Of course, it helps that we never really complained because there was little we could complain about that she'd be able to correct anyway. That's my biggest gripe with Hudson's really. It's like one of those places where you show up, try the food for what it is, and don't really say much if the food fails to meet your expectations (whatever they are) because you're mostly just grateful you didn't.. 1.) Incidentally ingest food poisoning via Murphy's Law and/or.. 2.) Suffer a fate greater than #1 in lieu of sending your food back in hopes of receiving something better. Because ultimately in a place like this, if something isn't...terrible, yet still not that great, you don't bother complaining about it vocally [because it's not worth the energy at all]. You simply don't return. Which is what we'll be doing. This restaurant is forgettable, not that terrible...yet less than average, and...dare I say...something that seems to celebrate its own mediocrity in self congratulatory fashion by apparently hiring a part time magician to inexplicably toss cards up to the ceiling for patrons to awkwardly gawk at. I just don't get it. And I'm not sure I want to. Though, to be fair, said magician wasn't present when we were dining here tonight. I just had to make mention of that since others were praising this aspect. Like I said, I just don't get it. read more

It has been over 14 years since I have been at Hudson Grill. Last night was a very memorable experience for myself, my daughter and grandson . First, the service was great and awesome. What made it so memorable was asked if Hudson still served coffee with cinnamon sticks, chocolate chips and their special whip cream. They did!! Made my night, after having a tough afternoon. Jesse brought a freshly brewed coffee with the fixings mentioned earlier. Jasmine was our server and she was courteous, very attentive and professional. Our meals were great, even my grandson who is pretty picky, loved his meal. Overall, our experience regarding the ambiance of the nostalgic experience at Hudson was great. The food was delicious, what adds onto this great experience is the service given by Jasmine and Jesse, who care for the customers well cared for. Thank you Hudson for everything, along with Jasmine's and Jesse's professionalism on their job, which is taking excellent care of the customer enjoying the nostalgic experience. read more

Not been here in years. I stopped by with my grandkids. I ordered the Philly cheese steak. Not the traditional type with yellow runny cheese, but swiss jnstead. Also was roast beef, And not ribeye. That did not matter because this was the BEST Philly cheesesteak that I've had in Elpaso in a long time. My picky granddaughter ate every bit of her corn dog, and the other got the kids pizza. We have been going to Hudson's for years to eat and watch sports on TV. The menu is very diverse and most of what we've eaten over the years has been very good. There has been a large turnover of employees over the last couple of years (many good employees in my opinion) but luckily Maria A. is still there. Maria is the BEST! We have started to make sure she is working before deciding to go. I would recommend Hudson's and if you can get Maria to wait on you that is a definite plus! read more

Servers walked by, smiled and argued that was not their table. How do I know? I heard them when I passed by them while heading to the restroom. After 30 min of NOBODY attending us we left. I've been going to Hudsons for years, but today, I took my family and waited at the door for 15 minutes, and nobody acknowledged we were even there. I called the restaurant to speak to the manager, who advised that they were short staffed and didn't want to seat us and have us be sitting at a table without service (that would have been preferable to standing at the door). Multiple parties left before we finally did. It's such a shame, as we have always enjoyed Hudsons. We won't be back. Service is everything!! read more

If your not a personal friend of Ruben at Hudson's Bar and Grill you get treated like a second rate customer. Me and my girl paid for our drinks and left on the spot. We get there early to get a good spot and meet family and watch a game. Then this guy pushes our big table to make for "more tables"...but he never brought it. He put one guy in the center and pushed us back to the rear. It was obvious he made room for his friend. I had taken my family there sometime ago and my experience was forgettable. We decided to give it another try today for a New Year's day after-movie meal. What a regrettable decision! Although our waitress was pleasant and helpful the food was cold greasy and didn't taste very good. I still have that greasy taste on the roof of my mouth. And talk about dirty; this place doesn't know the concept! Dusty and greasy decorations were all over the walls around the restaurant. Greasy fingerprints were clearly visible on the pictures next to our table. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like and their cleanliness efforts in there. All in all it was a very unpleasant experience and I will not be going back anytime soon. Makes you wonder how a place like this is still open. read more

We've been coming here for years. The service has been slowly going down. Today was the worst experience we've had. First our waiter told us they ran out of cups AND silverware. Then we ordered and it took literally 40 minutes for nachos, a burger and 2 sandwiches and it wasn't very busy at this time. The waiter said our dinner salads were what possibly could be holding it up. The waiter also said the nachos were done but didn't bring them to the table. We aren't sure if it was the waiter or the cooks tonight. Will not be eating here for a very long while. read more

It really makes me sad to write such a negative review about an establishment I used to think was really good, especially from my childhood. I ordered my food, the Bleu Bacon Burger, that was relatively new to the menu, or at least from the waitresses knowledge. I asked what was in the burger and upon learning there was mustard and no pickles, I asked for the burger NOT to have pickles and mustard. As I waited for my burger, I noticed other patrons getting up and asking for silver ware and trying to get the attention of their waitresses. I had gotten my burger 20 minutes later to find that the order was messed up. I told her about it, she ensured me that she would replace it. After waiting 10 minutes for her to return in order to get buffalo sauce, I went to bar area to find her EATING. I told her immediately to retract my order. They should have designated breaks in order to eat while not serving food or at least have a manager that enforces this. This has not been the first time I had an issue with this restaurant. I WILL NOT EVER go back to this restaurant and I urge all of you NOT to go. -A disappointed foodie read more
