Following the interview, I spoke to Scott who said an hour-long meeting sounded promising as she didn't usually meet with candidates for that long unless she was very interested. He helped me craft a thank you note and said he'd get feedback from the Client and get back to me. Cut to: never heard from him again. It was a basic ghosting situation--when I called the next day to follow up, I was told he was in a meeting, and that was that. Advice to this recruiter: I know it's just a numbers game for you--as soon as a Client passes, we are dead to you. However, we prep and prepare and take interviews seriously, giving our best shot to each and every opportunity. Show us the same respect we show you when we interview and represent your agency as best we can. Show us the basic courtesy of picking up the phone and making one call--it's what--a minute out of your day?--to simply let us know that for whatever reason, the Client has decided to pass. The hiring process is lengthy, and employees have to buy their own work clothing. Despite having over five years of serving experience, I am only being paid $24 an hour. I work for several agencies, and Tapuz offers the lowest pay of them all while demanding the most. They even expect you to do dishwasher duties for minimal compensation. Recently, I've noticed, along with my coworkers, that only a certain race seems to be getting all the shifts. Those who aren't receiving shifts are mainly Black and Hispanic employees. It's disheartening to see this kind of inequality at work. I've lost a lot of respect for Tapuz over the last four months. I have never experienced anything like this until now, and it is very disturbing for both myself and my coworkers. This company also does not protect its employees when clients are extremely rude to us, which is very disheartening. Additionally, we are facing issues with racist management towards Black and Spanish employees, while also dealing with mistreatment from clients. I highly advise against wasting your time here!

When I contacted her to let her know she wasted my entire afternoon, she then responds with a lengthy rather bizarre phone message apologizing and saying " I know you must hate me" and an email saying "I absolutely understand you're furious and for thinking the worse of me."It seems like I can give you a hundred reasons and it won't be enough, but I just wanted to say I am sorry from the bottom of my heart for "wasting your time" and whatever inconvenience I have caused you, and for accommodating my schedule." I was traveling to Japan the following day and said I would be in touch when I return and she tells me the position I was inquiring about will most likely not be available when I return.
