Since the beginning of the year I've been contacted by a recruiter at this agency. I always get the same feedback. "I have 3 opportunities I think you are an excellent fit for." I file the application and weeks pass by before I hear from the same recruiter with the same exact story. She has been late on those calls too. My guess is the positions do not exist and she's wasting my time. I have worked with multiple agency and never filed an application prior to an offer. Ironically as she is sharing these job descriptions she is giving a false presentation reviewing the JD when in fact she's looking at my resume. I wish I could give 0 stars to Robin Mehl's at Gainor. I applied for a position using LinkedIn, now I am aware I didn't fit all the requirements, but I have other qualities that could be useful, so why not?! Well, Robin returned to me in the next morning, a little pessimistic about my qualifications but excited about some of my knowledge and asks to schedule an interview. The interview day comes, she doesnt call me at the scheduled time. 15 min later I call and she doesnt even apologize for not calling me. Rude, but ok... She asked me one question and interrupted me while I was answering to say that I was not a good fit for the job (why to even reply to my application, then, why?!?) but that she works with other positions I could be good for (why didn't she say all of that on an email?!). Now, this can be done via email! You dont need to get anyone out of their desks during work hours to say things that you could have said by email. So on top of being late, rude, Robin is also not the brightest person out there. I'm not sure how others are in this agency, but be careful to not waste your time with Robin. read more

Arlene reached out to me on LinkedIn to apply for a position she thought I would find interesting. After my initial phone interview with Arlene, she called, texted (this is so unprofessional) and emailed me several times in a period of 15 minutes to update the formatting on my resume. Unfortunately, I was in a meeting and unable to answer my phone. An email outlining the urgency of her request, along with her request, would have been much more professional. This should have been a red flag to consider before going to their midtown office. Upon going to the Gainor office, I met Arlene who was engaging and very concerned about me wearing a suit to the interview- she mentioned this several times. Robin arrived late and told me the company was already in their second round of hiring, and likely not looking at new applicants. At that point, I understood Robin was not interested in me and the entire trip to their office was a waste of time. Arlene and Robin were clearly on different pages. They needed to speak to each other before inviting me into the office and wasting my, and their, time. Gainor needs to review their applicant communication methods and messages. read more

Gainor Staffing will be the only staffing agency I will ever go to! I was completely miserable at my job and decided to seek new work- that is when I came across Gainor Staffing. I worked with Ivan Osorio, whom I highly recommend working with. I was hesitant about recruiting agencies at first, as I typically thought of them as a "Scam" in the past, but Gainor completely changed my outlook. Right from the start Ivan was completely transparent with me. When I asked how the process works of receiving a job offer through Gainor, Ivan told me that it all depends on the person. He stated that some people are lucky (As well as great candidates), and receive a job offer as little as one week after contacting Gainor, and sometimes it can also take time to find the right fit for you and you have to be patient. However- I was one of the lucky ones! Ivan found a position that I not only was qualified for, but fit all my needs that I let him know I had. (positive work environment, great atmosphere, friendly staff, etc.) Gainor would never blindside you, embarrass you, or send you out on an interview where they did not think were are qualified for the position- so you don't have to worry about that. If anything, it gave me even more confidence knowing a company thought I had enough potential to go out and represent them in an interview. Immediately after my interview (for my now current position), Ivan reached out to me and asked how it went, and gave me advice on the next steps (sending out a thank you letter after the interview, etc.) He even gave me his personal cell phone number and told me that if I had any questions or needed to talk at any time, to call him and I would never be a bother. Once I landed the job, he called me after my first day of work to ask how it went, as well as followed up a week later to make sure I loved my new job. Gainor Staffing as well as Ivan represent dedication, (as they will not stop or give up until they find you a job) care, compassion, and people will genuinely look out for your best interest. It took a few weeks for them to contact me back, but after a couple of interviews, I was finally able to join as a temp worker. Can't say how pleased I was with Gainor. My resume was received on a Monday, I went in for an interview with them on Tuesday and by the following Tuesday I had an interview with a company and was hired that afternoon. And it is honestly a perfect fit, as I am still here!!! It can drag on for weeks, or in my case months. I signed up to work with 11 agencies within NYC. Each of them were varied in their approach but Barrie Meisner was the most chipper. She puts the "Human" back in Human Resources. Her demeanor and attitude lifted me up to continue applying on my own and get through each day with a positive attitude. While the opportunity through Gainor fell through due to circumstances beyond Barrie or Gainor's control, I would highly recommend working with her as she provides something that some simply neglect: human compassion. read more

Where to begin. This company DOES NOT care about anyone outside of the family members and "favorites" that work there. The son thinks he's invincible. Reality, he's crooked and has all of them blind it's a total shame and I feel bad for recommending friends to work there. This is a reivew of my experience working with Gainor staffing which placed me in my current role and I LOVE it! My job search consisted of 4 months. Within the 4 months i met with about 8-10 different recruitment agencies who found me via linkedIn. About 2 months into my search i started to feel like it was going nowhere. I would meet with agencies, get asked the same questions and then never really hear from them again. My experience at Gainor was the complete opposite. After a sea of boring meetings, Angela Baade at Gainor was there to throw me a life saver! Came into the office twice and then even after I called back a couple of times to see if I was hired they never called me back ever or return my calls to let me know the result of my candidacy. Marcus was rather rude. Reached out to me after I submitted a resume and when I explained I am just looking pending how my review goes he got very rude and dismissive. Texted me close to 20 times in a couple of hours while I am work. An e-mail or two is sufficient you'll get a response. When I finally did chat with him on a call he explained how busy his schedule was and ppl needed to be on time and not "flake". Highly unprofessional. Everyone has a job and patience needs to be key.
