When I went to the bakery the pastries were wonderful and the atmosphere was great but the girl with the cupcake tattoo was kind of rude and was on her phone when I walked in the door and didn't help me until she realized the other girl was already busy. I stopped in here to possibly get a box of Italian cookies but it seemed like they were lacking in that department. The only cookies they really had were already wrapped and were pretty expensive. While I was here I had to get a Rainbow Cookie Cupcake for my sister since she loves Rainbow Cookies ($4.50 for 1) A little pricy but I know it costs a lot to make those. She seemed to love it. I was in the catering business for years and will not go to another bakery. Over and above staff willing to help and advise. I have a small Holiday party each year for approx. 40 guests I walk in there with a theme and walk out with such a nice reply and beautiful and mouth watering desert the day of the event. I've used this bakery before and it's always good. This time they made a mistake on my sons 16th birthday cake. He hated the cake, didn't even eat any. I called and explained the mistake but because I cut the cake(how else would the mistake of been found) they would not do anything to compensate for their mistake, not even a free cookie! I ordered a Sweet 16 cake for my daughter and it was beautiful. They made it exactly as how she wanted it. There was a small discrepancy when they called to confirm what we had ordered and they were very professional about everything and it was fixed quickly, the day we went to pick up the cake they apologized again and gave us a dozen beautifully decorated red velvet cupcakes for the inconvinience. Today my wife and i was celebrating our marriage and needed something simple. So , we stopped by manhattan sweets and we liked the presentation in the window and thought it may be a good bakery But , needless to say we were very disappointed with the six inch strawberry cheese cake that cost $ 25.00. It was so dry and hard i couldn't believe it ! And i asked the counter girl if it was fresh and she said yes. I even went as far to inform her that i'm a baker and when she din't look me in my eyes i should have known she was lying . Eye contact is importent when dealing with the public . So ! My conclusion to this is that this bakery wont last another six months. Poor product + poor service = Failure . I hope my $25.00 goes a long way there going to need it . read more

First time at this bakery. I ordered a cake for my mom's 90th birthday and brought in a picture of what i wanted it to look like. When I picked it up it was not at all what I wanted. Girl behind the counter had absolutely no customer service skills. A young gentleman came to the counter and offered to fix the cake BUT I had to come back in an hour (I live 20 minutes away!) When I came back it was much better and closer to what I had wanted. I paid $75 for this cake and they did not offer any kind of compensation for the inconvenience. Will not be going back. read more

Manhattan Sweets Bakery is the best bakery there is! Hands down! The owners of this place are a dream come true. They're incredibly friendly people and are SO very talented! I came here for my wedding cake. When I met with the woman who owns the bakery, I explained my vision for the cake and the theme for the wedding. When my wedding day came, I was floored with excitement. The cake was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Not only did she completely understand my vision, you can tell she completely listened to our theme and really understood the look and feeling we were going for. My wedding guests are still raving about how incredibly delicious this cake was! It does not get better than this bakery! I would HIGHLY recommend everyone coming here! We are really happy that we decided to chose this bakery for our daughters cake and cupcakes for her sweet sixteen. Everyone absolutely loved the cupcakes and the cake. I am a relatively new regular to Manhattan Sweets and have not been disappointed. The customer service is always so helpful and nice, the cakes are so good (highly recommend the silk and satin, so decadent!), and the pastries are just as good as the cakes. So I have gone to this bakery about four times. On my second visit I bought almond chocolate horns- I bought 2 - the woman put them in a bag and when I got home they were broken in half. I thought odd since I walked them carefully home- I live about 10 minutes from there. On my third visit I wanted to buy a birthday cake, there was one girl behind the counter waiting on one person for about 30 minutes, there was another woman in the back who occasionally came to the front and chose not to wait on me but would look and then go to the back. I waited and gave up and went to Pats market and bought a delicious strawberry cake instead. On my fourth visit yesterday I was intending I only was going to buy rolls but decided to buy a cupcake since there was a woman with her girls who were eating delicious looking cupcakes in front of me. I ordered a carrot cake cupcake- it was so stale and dry - I was very disappointed since I only eat a snack like this every once in awhile. I won't be returning- I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

While the quality of their baked goods is rated no less than 10+ on a scale on 1-10, their prices are very reasonable. I had just about given up looking for a bakery that could accommodate our very many family parties with a decent celebration cake, when I stumbled upon this quaint, immaculate boutique style shop. Before going for the gusto and ordering a wedding cake( my first big party cake order) I stepped in a few times to just try a few of the daily baked goods. Every single purchase from their beautiful selection of baked sweets to their daily breads, was phenomenal! Moving on, I decided to order the wedding cake. It was not only delicious, but the decorating looked like something out of a magazine. Since then, I have ordered an array of birthday cakes that are 3- dimensional for children, and recently a gorgeous baby shower cake, 2 tier, one with their signature rainbow cake and the other was a delicious creme' filling. Cindy, the owner takes exceptional care with guiding her customers through the design and order process ensuring an amazing delivery and I do mean delivery of your finished masterpiece. You will be astounded at the end result and how they not only deliver, but also will not just drop off....they insist on dressing the table ( for me it was fresh roses that I provided).
