If you likes sweets or even just once in awhile ... this is the place to go. I think it's a great place for a box of desserts for a party or bbq. Something different than these pastry shop chana etc. First off Terry was unbelievable sweet & friendly. He went out of his way to be helpful & patient with me because I couldn't decide on Flavors or the amount. I guess I am old school or maybe just plain weird but I really like making the HUMAN connection when I am out & about.... I feel like people just aren't very socia anymore ....for a number of reasons . ANYWAY , if you have not been to AhugaPie Shop you ABSOLUTELY MUST GO. So I guess most people would equate a sugar pie to a Whoopie pie. These sugar pies are pretty big and a half of one is more than enough. Terry told me some people buy them and cut them in half and freeze them and take them out as they want them. Which I think is a great idea and is which what I did because I do not live nearby, but I would definitely drive to the end of the Earth for more. It's just one of those places. And I am not a big sweet person put the cake is just always soft and flavorful and delicious. And the filling is the right amount of the flavor and whipped cream and sugar. I think they have like 10 or so flavors available every day and they switch them around. I've probably tried five or six different flavors over the past two years and again all of them were very consistently delicious and amazing. I can't even explain it . It's just perfect. I've had them a few times before when a coworker brought them in. And I finally got a chance to go myself. I was so happy to share the experience with my family.. personally I love the chocolate cake with the peanut butter filling. So if your peanut butter lover, OMG go go go!!! . The product is very consistent. They do have a very specific hours. And as Terry recommended, it's always best to call ahead and either order , check the flavors of the day . & or the shop hours. It kind of blew my diet, but it was well worth it.. please go you will not be disappointed.. the only negative thing I can say about my experience is I wish I had bought a more of a variety of flavors. I am so happy that they expanded their hours. I would always get to Babylon after work around 6 PM and they were always closed. I was happy to catch them. I was one of the last people to get their rainbow cookie Whoopie pie for the day. Definitely my favorite. So good! They should put two small, cute little tables in that alley, so that people can sit and eat their Whoopie pies because at the moment they really isn't an ambience. Absolutely the most delicious and fresh Whoopi pies. Small little store. Went up a side street in Babylon and up to a window. Ordered the vanilla crumb as well as the cookies and cream and a death by chocolate . The Vanilla crumb was my favorite , the cookies and cream was also excellent. I didn't get to try the death by chocolate. They were all very fresh. Not sure if he fills the Whoopi pies to order or they are pre made but they were all super soft and moist. This is my second time having these delicious desserts! First time was before the they had a store and I got a delivery from the man himself, Terry. Fast forward to today and there was a contest on Facebook that I entered and won! The prize was a box of Shuga Pies! To say that I was ecstatic would be an understatement. The ones I tried were Death by Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, and Vanilla Crumb. The others in the box were quickly claimed and devoured by my kids. Im glad that I don't live close, I'd be there every week for sure. The shop itself is just a cute window where you place your order and get your little Shuga Pies. Just walk into the alley and look right, almost like a secret hiding spot! There is also a Facebook page where they post what flavors are available and what has sold out. It was a last minute request on a Friday. I called and asked if any rainbow cookie shuga pies were available for pickup around 2:30, also mentioned it was my birthday, which it was. The man on the phone, owner, said his wife was making a batch of rainbow but wasn't sure they would be ready by then. Rainbow was actually being prepared for Saturday but he said just call around 2. I called, they put 6 aside for me plus 6 other flavor shuga pies. I met both the owners, they were very friendly and the shuga pies were delicious. Im a Rainbow fanatic and I can't wait to return for more. FYI the purchases are made from a walk up window, not a Cafe or walk in shop. My husband and I have been coming to Shuga Pie for over a year now and the quality of their desserts has been consistent across the board. Terry and Micheline have such a love for people and their products. They are kind and considerate people who have such a joy for life. They always have something new on the menu. We of course have our favorites like Cookies n Creme, Espresso, Lemon Poppy, Pistachio, and Strawberry Shortcake just to name a few. If you can think of it, they can create it. A hidden gem in the heart of Babylon's Main Street. This bakery is owned and operated by a lovely couple whom are super friendly and love to converse with all their customers. The Shop is located down an alleyway next to swell taco, and is typically open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The hours of operation as well as whoopie pie flavors are listed on Facebook daily, as the flavors are ever changing. You approach a walk up window where you get to place your order; or if you're so inclined you can call in your order in advance! We couldn't visit without trying a bunch, so we had gotten the original, chocolate peanut butter, funfetti, toasted coconut, rainbow cookie, razzle dazzle raspberry and apple pecan crumb flavors. All the pies are large enough to easily be split between two people. The pies were all moist, and the cream filling was light and sweet. My favorite was the apple pecan crumb, it had a delicious cinnamon-y flavor perfect for fall! All the pies are $3.50 each and you really can't go wrong with any of the flavors. Some days a line forms or popular flavors sell out quick..so if there is one you've got your eye on either get their early or call ahead! read more

So soon it will be Thanksgiving Day and everyone gains weight then, right? So I decided to indulge in a sugary treat. Yes, a return trip to Shuga Pie Shop, but this time no long wait!! Last time must have been a fluke, or perhaps I made better timing today, either way - yum. Hands down my favorite is the peanut butter crunch. It is pure perfection. My second favorite of the four I bought was the Kentucky Bar Fight. The first bite prepares your mouth for an unusual experience by giving you the essence of hot sauce, then your mouth is prepared as you take that second sweeter bite, a great taste experience. Unfortunately, the cake portion was just a bit too gummy, not as spongy and light as the other three. The Cookies and Cream is okay, but amongst the others it comes off a little bland. The chocolate covered potato chip one was a fun chew when the bite held a crunchy potato chip. It has a very subtle mocha taste as well. The adventures in flavors presented in the unique concoctions will dazzle your taste buds, so go on a dessert adventure and buy yourself a Shuga pie, or two, or more.
