We came in to choose a dessert to bring to friends' house and chose a raspberry almond tart. It was divine and I would love to go back and order something for ourselves. They have a huge selection of desserts and obviously take pride in their cupcakes and doughnuts. We live closer to Rolling Pin Bakery but would hands down prefer to drive out to Islip for baked goods. While the person behind the counter was helpful, she was less than enthusiastic to be working. My Fiancé and I first met Manhattan Sweets at a wedding vendor event in Brooklyn. We tried their desserts there for the first time and they were delicious. We took their card and decided to see if they would be a good fit to do our wedding cake and other desserts. Today we went for our cake and dessert tasting and it was such a lovely experience. Cindy was so incredibly kind, professional, and listened to all of our wants. The dessert layout they had for us was perfect and we truly felt like we tried it all and picked our favorites. The cakes were moist and filled with flavor. The designs were original and fun. We 100% are going with them to create our perfectly delicious wedding cake, along with brownies, butter cookies, and donuts for our wedding. We cannot wait! Waste of my money !!! Ordered a flourless chocolate cake and didn't even get what I wanted. There was barely any real cake in it, it was just frozen whipped cream or something. And when I say frozen I mean straight out the freezer type. Decoration was very nice but when you can finally cut into it it's a big disappointment. read more

I came in here about a week ago and got a box of cake truffles for a birthday I was attending. They told me there were 18 inside and with the gift box the total was around $40/$45. At dessert we found out there were only 12. I came back about a week later for a cupcake and told the girl at the counter what happened. I honestly wasn't expecting them to do anything, I figured it was just a miscommunication or something, I had waited a week and I didn't have a receipt or anything. The girl was apologetic and super accommodating. She gave me a $17 credit. I don't usually leave reviews but I figured I'd say something. Great place, great people, great food. read more

This bakery is clean, always lives up to their pickup times and I've ordered from them a ton of times! Their cookies, little pastries and extra goodies are all so delicious! The only reason for the 4 stars (really would give a 3.5) is I've ordered 4-5 cakes from them in the years I've been going here. They are always beyond pleasing to the eye (decorated beautifully), but they don't taste very good. I find the cake to be super dry which is sad- this goes for their big cupcakes too. :( I find myself taking one or two bites and throwing it away. I've been meaning to write this review for a while. I've purchased two cakes over the last few months and both were AMAZING!!! Started with a funfetti birthday cake in February and it was absolutely delicious!!! Not too sweet and had lots of flavor. This Sunday I picked up a tiramisu cake and it was out of this world! Not one slice was left over. Everybody loved it! Also, their cupcakes and black and white cookies were fresh, delicious and beautifully decorated. The second time I went I stopped in because I was nearby for something else and wanted to give it another shot. I asked about the doughnuts again, "are they fresh?" The lady replied "yes." I was so disappointed in my cupcake from this bakery. I love stopping in to bakeries where ever I travel and haven't worse quality in a bakery cupcake. The frosting of my "lemon cupcake" was decorator's icing not buttercream: gross tasting and weepy consistency. And the cake I was told was lemon was actually pound cake with lemon curd filling. OMG I just ate the very best cupcake I EVER had!! I found this little gem of a bakery when banking across the street. Being new to Long Island there is so much to explore! There is on street parking which was not difficult to find on a Friday at lunchtime there was a spot right in front of the door. I couldn't resist because from across the street at the bank I could see that it looked quite fun and unique so I just had to see the inside. The clerk was very friendly, it is clean, well lit and beautifully decorated - can I say eye candy? The first thing to catch my eye was the display of beautiful cupcakes which naturally I could not leave without. There are just so many choices here that I also had to add a large chocolate chip chocolate brownie and a chocolate dipped rice crispie treat (half in milk chocolate and half in White chocolate). I also took home 3 gorgeous cupcakes, a red velvet decorated with tiny red hearts, a sparkling pink frosted cupcake with raspberry filling and a chocolate with white topped frosting and a big cherry that is supposed to have a chocolate filling...Yummmmm My pink cupcake was decorated with a chunky sparkling glitter over the pink icing. It was light, fluffy, loaded with delicious flavor and filled with a rich raspberry jelly type filling that was not as sugary as a doughnut filling would be. It was P-E-R-F-E-C-T. I was so taken by the amazing baked goods that I really didn't even notice there is a large section of the wall on the opposite side that is dedicated to home made dog treats. Cake just came out like swirls, NOTHING like what they have displayed in the window. I ordered 2 cakes for my daughters 1st birthday. A smash and a reg one for 50 people. The cakes were perfect. But the people that work there are awful. I've been there a few times for pastries and cupcakes, but never had to really interact with the help. When I went to place the order the cashier wouldn't let me use the restroom. She was also kind of arrogant. But what literally took the cake. Was when I sent a family member to pick up the cakes they only gave her 1 cake. Omg. I came here for some donuts- I am looking to have donuts as my wedding favor, so I have been taste testing different bakeries and this one is WOW. We got 4 donuts to share: honey glazed, cookies and cream, banana walnut, and... another that I can't remember at the moment. The honey glaze was SO GOOD- one of the best donuts I've ever had. The cookies and cream was good, but a little drier compared to the others. The banana one was surprisingly good- Better than I expected! And while I don't remember the 4th flavor we got ‍ I remember it was the second favorite, behind the honey glazed. So the moral is that they are all fabulously delicious. Everything in the shop looked incredible, staff was friendly and the 4 donuts cost $10 total- a little pricey compared to other bakeries in the area, but the best thus far. read more

SO GOOD! My friends and I were definitely impressed by the cupcakes. I especially loved the red velvet cupcake - it was super moist and the frosting was excellent, cream-cheesy and delicate and just the right amount of sweetness. It was the best red velvet cupcake I've ever had! I'm usually not so enthusiastic about cupcakes, and have generally had bad experiences in a lot of the hot NYC cupcake places (the Magnolia and Crumbs cupcakes are way too dry!) and now have a new favorite cupcake spot. I also tried a vanilla buttercream cupcake, and was equally as impressed by the frosting and the cake. The bakery is adorable and the packaging of the sweets is really cute. Manhattan sweets is my favorite New York bakery. Few bakeries in Manhattan can compare. The carrot cake cupcake is to die for, with its flavorful cake and rich, delectable cream cheese frosting. The staff also goes above and beyond to be helpful. When I went in to order a few boxes of sweets for Valentine's Day last week, the owner's son spent 15 minutes helping me pick out the perfect combination of desserts and even let me try a few. Worst bakery experience I've ever had. I custom ordered a cake for grandmas 90th birthday and was extremely disappointed upon pick-up. Not only were the custom decorations not what i had described or ordered, but they were sad compared to all the cakes that were pre-made in the display case. (Their excuse is that their usual baker/decorator was on vacation this week.) I also noticed small hairs along the border of the decoration which i was told were "fibers" from a brush used for the icing. I was told that the sale was final and there was nothing they could do. It wasn't until i became upset that they agreed to give me a $25 gift certificate for a later date. Why would i want a gift certificate to come back to a business that disappointed me and would not do anything to fix their mistakes? Anyway, I'm adding a picture of the Puerto Rican themed cake that cost $80! I recommend Alpine Bakery and Torta Fina if you're looking for a new cake spot. C. Cake is just as amazing and if you are trying to be good and only want a little bite the R. C. Truffles are also outstanding! They are pricey but TOTALLY WORTH IT!
