Service and quality at this mani pedi spa are questionable. It's unfortunate that the staff there don't make you feel welcome. They want you in and out of there. The person that gave did my pedicure was quick in cleaning and exfoliating but she forgot about me when my feet were drying. I watched her looking at her phone. I must have sat there for 10 minutes plus and finally decided to get out of my chair. I was disappointed and will not return. Vibe was negative, Staff needs to be talked too about customer service. Honestly, the worse pedicure I ever had. Girl didn't even due a bottom or top coat and put cotton between toes . No quick dry, unless you spend $10 more. They don't tell you. After sitting for 15 minutes she tells me I can go with the pedicure slippers I brought with me. That it would not dry for half hour? I had my cute Sandles , so would not wear ugly pedicure slippers . More expensive than most places and terrible. Don't waste your money. Going back to where I know is good. Last time here. My first visit there to try out the place. Service was acceptable but not exceptional. Just a warning. Beware about using credit card because unbeknownst to me until I inserted my credit card for payment, there was a fine print stating that a 3% surcharge will added on. The fine print states: "There will be a 3% convenience fee for credit card transactions. Total will be shown on card statement." This disclosure should be printed on the service menu as a courtesy to their patrons. If I had known about their 3% surcharge in advance, when I sat down at my station, I would not have been upset and accepted it. Just got a pedicure with my grandma for the first time. Made an appointment earlier in the day for 6pm (they close at 7 but they said it was fine) Both girls were rushing our pedicures. I asked for french tips and she charged me $10 extra but literally just put white polish and cleaned up the lines with nail polish remover... no base at all, usually would get a nude/pink base but nooope. I'm actually so irritated, she definitely was just rushing. Paid over $100 for less than an hour of treatment and the girl barely said one word to me. I feel bad because they were trying to close but next time just say no instead of charging $60 for a half ass pedicure lol. read more

I've been to this nail salon multiple times but this time was unacceptable. Appointment scheduled at 6:30pm for 2 people (mind you I am taking my 10yr old niece for her birthday) for gel nail and my niece wanted extensions. I was asked if we wanted to come in sooner 5:30 or 6pm, I agreed with 6pm. Walked in and was greeted nicely and was told to pick our color. While looking for about maybe 3mins we are rushed to pick our color. A nail tech took my niece to have a seat and as I watched her go to her seat, I was confused on why the seat next to her was empty. While I was picking my color, my nail tech Kimmy approached me asking me what color, I showed her and I asked her where was I sitting and she pointed across the room behind a wall ( I thought to myself, um why would you seat me away from my 10yr old niece?!) so I asked nicely if I could sit next to my niece since there was an empty spot. She looked at me all irritated (which I ignored it, understanding that she would have to move her set up to another location) and agreed to seat me next to her. So fast forwarded, the first color I picked out I ended up not liking it (she showed me the pinky with 1 swipe of polish and I was like okay but then after she polished the next 2 nails I wasn't feeling it ( and if I am paying for something that's expensive then I want to like it) so i apologized to her and said "Sorry I am not liking this color" (she then exhales deeply like she got irritated and I caught that (now I am irritated so I apologized again asking if we could change the color) she then starts to wipe it off and asked what color, I asked can change to a lighter pink? Kimmy says "Oh we don't have a lighter pink " (okay lady, like I didn't just look through the gel color book and noticed that there's more than 1 light pink!) SO to make HER JOB EASY FOR HER I chose the same color my niece was using because it was right next to her! I don't usually point out the mistakes or uneven polish but as you can tell the color is a lighter pink and if you polish it unevenly YOU WILL SEE IT! I waited to see if she was going to apply another coat to even it out but she then applied the clear polish on and that's when I knew that she didn't give a R@ts A$$ if it was uneven or anything, so I asked her nicely to fix it, she was even more irritated. I looked at my other hand and there were more mistakes! Like Lady I know this is not your first rodeo and if you don't want to go back and fix it then ASK THE CUSTOMER IF IT LOOKS OKAY BEFORE YOU PLACE THE CLEAR POLISH! Anyways she fixes it and did my massage and THEN I was looking at my done nails and I see that there's some kind of BLACK THING OR a HOLE on my nail! I asked her to look and she said she doesn't see anything.... I showed her again and she said "Oh maybe from the towel" I asked her can we fix it.... (look I get it, it's almost closing time and I know you want to go home BUT IF YOU CANT OR CHOOSE NOT TO DO YOUR JOB RIGHT WITHOUT ATTITUDE THEN DON'T TAKE THE LAST CUSTOMER!) at this point I'm over it and I want to just say what ever already but it's expensive and I want it right... so she ends up applying one coat over the black thing and after I asked her if she had applied the clear polish over it and she said "Yes, oh you forgot?) Ooooh girl! Let me tell you!!! I wanted to explode BUT I decided to tell her "Oh okay it's fine" I stood up and told my niece let's go and paid for both of us $225 (for frickn junk and messy nails from my nail tech Kimmy) my niece was happy with her nails though and her nail tech was nice she said. So Kimmy if you're reading this I hope you had a great night! Also I hope you do a better job on your next customer! Side note the nail tech Chloe and Anne are great if you want to request for someone but since I scheduled this appointment a day prior I knew that they would already be busy. Had a great girls day out getting manis and pedis at Mani Pedi Spa. This is an establishment I've passed a hundred times at Ala Moana and previously never gave them a try because I have my usual go-to nail salon elsewhere. So I'm glad my friend went ahead and booked the day for us here. They have a huge space with many massage spa chairs and glad that there's a large section in the back so that passerby's can't see you while getting a pedicure through the window. A row of manicure tables are up front in the window. They have dozens and dozens of colors available in both regular nail polish and gel polish. I think many of you can agree that the hardest part about getting your nails done is choosing the color. Thankfully, they have color samples that you can take with you to help you decide while you're getting your service done. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't get the name of the employee who gave me a pedicure and manicure, but she did a good job overall. She was nice and checked in periodically to see if everything was ok. She did the normal polish check to see if I liked the color on myself. The only thing I would have appreciated was a heavier pressure on my foot massage but because I was busy talking to my girlfriends, it wasn't a huge deal and I wasn't focused solely on my pedicure. Avoid the older Vietnamese nail techs that work there, they look to be around 45-60 yrs old, always bad experience with them, always seem irritated, rude, rushing, and not gentle, only when it's time to pay they all of sudden smile and acknowledge you. Ive been searching for a good nail tech ever since I moved to Oahu. It was not easy. I almost gave up until I booked my first appt with Tina. I usually just get gel mani and pedi and when others have done my nails, the nails would chip off within a week. HOWEVER, Tina is the best !!! Every time she does my nails it looks absolutely perfect. She is meticulous and really does a good job since my gel polish usually stays on for 3-4 weeks. I love that this place is in Ala Moana, close to Target and on the side which I normally shop. Location is Mauka Side mall level by La Palme D'Or, Premium Barbershop and The Lanai eateries. This place can be hit or miss in service. Thankfully, I've had more "hits" than misses in the time I've frequented this salon. I've come to expect just the bare minimum from salons because most of the staff there are ESL. If they can speak some conversational English, great! If not, no biggie to me. I prefer mani/pedis with minimal chatter as I relax or play on my phone. The markdown comes from their availability, or lack thereof. Four out of five times, they don't do walk ins and you'll be advised to come back in a couple of hours or the following day. My schedule is often saturated with meetings and errands so I appreciate businesses that can take me on a whim. The massage chairs are comfortable and clean. They also take safety measures using disposable tub liners and sterilized utensils after each client. Solid stars for that. One of the best customer service came from an aesthetician named Julia. She performed my manicure and was so friendly and efficient! Her English was impressive and I enjoyed my time with her a lot. Prices are reasonable, especially considering their high-rent locale in AMSC. For a classic mani/pedi, it came out to $60 and I was refreshed after an hour of pampering, massage, and fresh nails! read more

I had Julia and she was so nice! Definitely would go back and see her. The girl working the front desk was pretty rude when I asked to check in. She was very young. I went with my Aunt, and so I asked if I could pay for her treatment ahead of time as a surprise to her. The young girl rolled her eyes when I asked this and looked pretty displeased, but eventually rang me up at the register. Additionally, a worker asked me while I was picking my color if I wanted gel or no gel (before I paid). I told her I just have to take my current gel off, and I don't want any new gel. Apparently this was not communicated by her to the people doing our nails or the people at the front desk, as we were not "properly charged" the additional $5 for removing gel and reprimanded for not telling them later (even though I told a worker this as I was picking my color). I made sure to tack on an extra $5 to my tip to make up for this, but did not appreciate being made to feel like this was my fault when it was a miscommunication between the 3+ workers talking to me. read more

This was my second time coming here. I would like to say last time Tina was a wonderful tech and my nails were perfect! I came back asking for her and she was off today, so they gave me Chole. She was very sweet but I have to say she seemed very inexperienced. She left the nail remover on too long and my hands started to burn. I had to ask her to remove it and I also needed to ask for a bowl of water to wash them off. My appointment was at 9:30am and I didn't leave until 11:40am (basic mani pedi with gel). I had to ask her to fix the length of my nails because they were uneven. At the end of my appointment, my nails were still uneven and for how much time she spent, she kept running to the back and I felt like she was unorganized and I'm not happy with how they came out or the service. I've been coming here for a loooong time. 5+ years. I've had great experiences and mediocre ones. But the past time I went was just awful. I was getting a gel extension fill and she took such a long time for one of the worst sets I ever got. She charged me 65+ for a full set when it's 35+ for a fill. I don't even realize they scammed me out of $75( I tipped) until after I got home and realized I shouldn't have paid that much. You could see my nails thru the gel extension and my thumb broke off after 6 days. ( the thumb usually is the strongest one so I was shocked) then one by one it started cracking and I was so upset because I was hoping to have these nails for my trip. Now I feel cheated of $75 and now my nails look like this :( I'll be giving them a call when they open to see if they can help me out since im a loyal customer but I'll post an update if otherwise. The two stars are for Emily who gave me really cute Halloween nails that lasted over a month and half with no lifts. I wish I was patient and just waited for her availability because she wouldn't have scammed me. Update: no refund and the receptionist explained why gel and removal of color was another 30+. the transparency of inflation in price wasn't mentioned during my appointment.
