Coming from Scottsdale, AZ to here this is the beta salon for nails in town. Don't get me wrong this is no Teres but it's better than other places in town. I don't know about the other lady but I have been to most of the places in Wilmington and by far this is my best experience. It's clean the pedicure chairs are the best in town! You watch them disinfect and clean everything when someone leaves. The items they use are always sterile which is important. When I have friends in town or someone who has not not been in before this is the place I take them. Highly recommened. read more

I've tried a few techs here and they've all done a good job on my nails. Only thing is the owner acts as if she's too good to stop and do something for a customer, that the other techs may not know how to do. She's very rude and when you try and tell her how you would want your service done, she still does what she wants and rushes it. Then talks about you to the other techs. I would over look it, until today. Not only that, she tried to cover up a BED BUG that was in the towel she put under my feet. And that did it for me. I will not be back. read more

The man that did my nails was awful. He was rough, burned me with the hot towel, and yanked and pulled my fingers. He seemed like he was in a rush and had no desire to do my nails or make conversation. I was very disappointed with my nails, they ended up crooked. My nails and hands were very sore the next day and I only got SNS, my nails aren't usually sore after getting SNS. It cost $45 just for a plain SNS color with no design which is ridiculous compared to $35 at other salons. I won't be coming back, big waste of money. I also had an appointment and ended up waiting 20 extra minutes... The only reason I gave 1 star is because the owner was polite. read more

Went for acrylic full set, waited for 30+ minutes with multiple seats open extremely unclean and never wiped down the seats and sat on a bunch of fingernails. People there were nice but refuse to listen to me when I asked to do corrections multiple times based off of a reference. lack of communication between customer and employee and my nails looked terrible. read more

So so happy I've found Angie at mani q! Very excited she's the new owner. I've struggled for years trying to find a salon and manicurist that i can count on. Before the manager arrived the nail tech tried to tell me my finger wasnt bleeding so I took a pic then she says well the person that did your nails before used too much overlay it's very hard for me to fix for you. She asked me twice what colors I wanted as if I hadn't picked any out prior to sitting at her station. I told her I wanted the glitter on both ring finger nails. She stuck up her middle finger in my face stating I should get both middle fingers done. Ok by that time I was over it and her! The manager came in and sat down next to her. Her attitude and remarks changed. She began complimenting my style/appearance and tried to spark conversation about Kim kardashian. Maybe she was a little bipolar. I'm not sure. One of the best places that I've found in Wilmington. The staff is friendly and accommodating to requests, provides drinks when you walk in. The best part about mani-q is the selection of name brand polishes which don't appear to be watered down like many other salons. They throughly clean all of the foot baths, and I have yet to see any Emory boards or disposable tools which are reused. 5 stars in my mind. They even offer a UNCW discount. read more

By far the best pedicure I've ever had! They weren't busy when I went, so I was able to go straight to a chair. The pedi itself lasted about 35-40 minutes! Sometimes, while working on my nails, he wasn't even looking at them, instead he was looking around the salon and, in general, not paying attention to what he was doing. I was really surprised. Went there to get a manicure, and started off with a woman, but a man took over. I told them both how I wanted my nails(shape and color). He did nothing but give me a french manicure, with the tips halfway down my nails. They look awful, they're uneven, and lumpy on the top. I asked him when he was going to paint them and that wasn't what I told him I wanted. He became very rude, and started talking in a different language. He kept insisting he was done, and told me not to come back. I would never recommend the place to anyone. Had to pay for something I was dissatisfied with and didn't ask for. Was the WORST EXPERIENCE I ever had at a nail salon! I think he soaked my fingers in the same water as another person. The pebbles were slimey with a film on them, and he passed off for the woman next to me. Just wanted a polish change,and I said 3 TIMES "keep my nails long and rounded like my previous manicure". He then cut them short and squared, when I told him nicely to please fix it and showed him a picture of what rounded meant, he started bitching in another language and became so rough with me that he cut me under my nail and it started bleeding. I shoulda left right then, but my fault I didn't. There are bubbles in the shellac paint. I paid $30 bucks, no tip. And will never go back. read more

I went here today on Friday because everyone else was busy and had a terrible experience. I asked for a gel manicure and he RUSHED through it . I got a chrome color and it was uneven and could still see the color underneath and it was not smooth and had bumps. I asked for a manicure and instead he used a drill to even out my cuticles and said it was fine and still charged me $30. I thought the pedicure would be better but it was just as bad. She went through it so fast I couldn't even enjoy it. The pedicure took 10 minutes it was absolutely ridiculous that a pedicure was that short. She mixed the exfoliant, oil and lotion all in one and rinsed it off and painted my nails. I remember why I stopped going here. Highly do NOT recommend. read more

I went for a pedicure and it was really nice and the guy was friendly. I recently just went to get a full acrylic set and it wasn't a very good experience. Technician didn't get all my previous nail polish off and I know he saw it on my nail. I got glitter polish on my ring finger and as he was going over with top coat he transferred the glitter to a different nail and asked if that was okay. That never should have been a question, he should have just fixed it. He also got a little attitude when I accidentally messed up the polish and he had to re polish it. I'd recommend Garden Nail and Spa. Never should have tried a different location. read more

DO NOT BOTHER. TERRIBLE experience. Every time my daughters and I go here we have a sub par experience, yet the proximity and availability always brings us back. NEVER again. After arguing with my daughter when she was unhappy one of the workers leaned over the table yelling at her and the rant ended with "what are you, a dumb American?" Upon not receiving an apology for rudely yelling at my daughter, we tried to continue on with the experience and pay and leave. When paying, they charged my account an extra $400 by mistakenly pressing "0" at the end of the charge. Instead of voiding the charge, they neglected it and when I was the one to notice the mistake they charged me again before refunding the $400 charged. The charge overdrafted my account and charged me an overdraft fee and I will not receive my money back for at least a week. Terrible experience, terrible management and rude faculty for a less than average, shoddy job on an overpriced manicure. read more
