Everything was fresh and pretty good.It's nott the most flavorful but still great esp for one of the only few filipino restaurants in Memphis. If you are trying to find a great Filipino restaurant near Memphis this is hands down the best place to go to get it. Place feels like it came right out of Manila, Philippines. Enjoy how everything is set up and gives you a cozy feeling of being served authentic Filipino food. If you have never had it i recommend the pancit and lumpia combo. Those are classics and they make it almost as good as when my mom from Hawaii makes them. They also have a lot of daily specials and of course i always need to try out their Igado. Food was good, served hot, and rather quickly. Although it was new food for me, I just didn't get very excited about any of it. Pancit reminds me of ramen noodles that you add the beef flavor packet in. The only difference was that it was a different noodle. Lumpia is just a type of eggroll, but I do believe it was made fresh in house. The pork barbecue had a tasty sauce, but was extra tough. Almost like a jerky. They told me after I ate it that mine were sliced thicker than usual, for whatever reason. For the most part, a pretty unspectacular meal, but not bad. I'm undecided on 3 or 4 stars. Certain days of the week have special foods, so it's good to find out when your favorite is being made - for example dinuguan is only offered on Saturday. I got pancit and tried the lumpia and turon as well. Pancit was good but next time I would get pork or shrimp in it instead of veggies for more kick. Lumpia was excellent but more veggies than anything else in the filling. Turon was 10/10 for sweet and crunchy taste as well as excellent pricing (2 for $1.59). I'm excited to come back and will continue to support this local business. I want to get barbecue skewers next time and try their halo halo. Barbecue skewers are new. I saw someone else get them and they looked sooo good. read more

We have lived in Millington for a while and we're looking for a good restaurant in town. Millington mainly has chain restaurants so we were glad to find Manila. We are new to Filipino food so we ordered a noodle dish with chicken and some very delicious fried spring rolls with chili sauce. The noodle dish was good and the serving was extremely large. We probably try the chicken adobo next time as the waitress said this was also very good. We ordered to go and the worker who took our order was extremely friendly! The food here is really, really tasty! The staff are friendly and accommodating. It is not a fancy place, by any means, but sometimes that is a good thing. The pancit was lovely, though I maybe wasn't a huge fan of the shrimp version, as the baby shrimp didn't seem fresh but probably frozen...or maybe canned. Very good Filipino food! I grew up on Guam surrounded by Filipino friends and culture, so trust me when I say this place is good. The hosts were all very nice, too, and made me feel right at home. They also offer authentic Filipino desserts like pichi pichi, puto, halo halo, etc. I tried their cassava cake and it was seriously the best cassava cake I've had - it had such a gooey, caramelized crust that not all cassava cakes have. This is my first time in a Filipino restaurant. It was amazing! Don't make me spell out what I had. But it was a noodle type thing with veggies, lumpia, and a sweet chili sauce. This stuff was fantastic. I ate every scrap of noodle on the plate. Admittedly, I played it safe. There were some things on the menu that may have been more adventurous, but for my first time I thought I'd take it easy. But there's no doubt about it... the food is great. The service was good and the servers were quite accommodating. Overall I give them a solid 5 stars (and I usually don't give 5 stars unless it's exceptional). This place was definitely exceptional. I highly recommend it. If you're scared to try Filipino food I'd encourage you to give it a try. It really is good. Had heard about this place opening on a Germantown neighborhood Facebook page and couldn't wait to try!! As far as I know, this place and VGM near Bartlett are the only two Filipino restaurants in the Memphis area. VGM has been around for years and I really hope this place makes it, too. I hope non-Filipino diners give it a try because in my humble opinion, Filipino food is easily palatable to even non-Filipino tastes (my Mississippi-born husband will agree!). As others have mentioned, Manila Filipino is far from fancy but the food and the friendliness of the staff (and even the other customers!) more than make up for the lack of ambience. We ordered pancit (amazing!), bistek and lumpia for our entrees and of course halo halo and turon for dessert. Everything was delicious and authentic! Truly, the only downside to this place for me is its distance as I live in Germantown, and it would take me close to 45 minutes to drive here. Came in at lunch time, there were 6 other diners in the restaurant, staff took my order right away, chicken pancit and lumpia. 34 minutes later, my order comes out and it's wrong. About 15 minutes later, the order comes out correct. The lumpia was great, the chicken pancit was very very salty. Reading all the other reviews, sounds like they were just having an off day. I love their Pancit! I had a teacher in college that always made it for potlucks. I've done my rendition of the recipe over the years but their is nothing like the authentic flavor. I work in Millington and the only down side is I always have a hankering for it on Mondays and they're closed. The chicken adobo is really good with garlic rice and the lumpia is great as well. If you are ever in the area you should try it. I even recommend making a special trip the food and prices don't disappoint.
