But she was in desperate need of a professional bath so we were on the look-out for a private groomer. Luckily, we ran into Ginia on an ice cream run once with Mia. Ginia was very nice and calm as her daughter wanted to pet Mia. We could easily tell that Ginia loves animals and knows how to treat them. We were ecstatic to hear that she was private dog groomer taking clients one at a time in her own home without cages. We immediately made an appointment and couldn't wait to bring Mia in. When we picked her up, we can tell by Mia's mood that she was very happy with her session. Ginia gave her a bandana and us a card with a lovely photo. Even two weeks after the appointment, Mia still smells and feels fresh. We definitely recommend Ginia for any pooch, especially senior canines that are prone to take naps and have dry skin.

That would be if only the shaggy dog folks had an ounce of initiative and willingness to help their clients. But they don't! We had a scheduled appointment to groom our dog, but had to leave her with the vet for a bit. We asked them to pick her up so she could have her grooming session but picking up your dog from 10 feet away is not something they are willing to do.

So I checked my local town Dog group on FB, asking if other folks had been here it used their services and what they thought. My post to the group received 47 responses singing the praises of Earthwise Pet. I decided to give them a try for their grooming services, our last groomer had flooded our dog Max's ears with water and he got double ear infections, he's 14 and my baby so I take things super carefully with him and won't bring him back to the other place. Anyways we recently rescued 2 terriers and they need grooming a lot more often than Max does so taking everything into consideration I decided to bring the little ones there. they went in looking like walking, barking little floor mops and came home looking like beautiful little princesses, yeah I'm a sucker. Lucy does a fantastic job grooming, just great. I've asked for both the classic terrier styling as well as a short cut for the hotter weather, we've been thrilled will both. next we brought Max he's a lab mix and only needed a brush and wash, super basic needs. He returned the King of the house that he is :) No shedding , just a beautiful glistening black coat. Since then I've brought the little ones back, alternating every other week to use the self washing station. The room setup makes the entire experience super streamlined. They set you up with a dedicated room with everything you need, fresh towels, heated blow drying unit, their water hookup is really cool. it has several selectable shampoos and conditioners all hooked up to a selector panel so you don't even need your own shampoo. The wash basin has a ramp for larger dogs to just walk in, while it also has an adjustable platform for the smaller dogs. basically you can position it at different heights so you can get the dog right at the most comfortable level and you don't have to lean way down into the basin to fish them out. It also has adjustable head leashes to keep them from trying to jump out, I'm talking about Mitzi! Pickles behaves fine but Mitzi tries to jump like it's a cliff, so having the straps there is very helpful. Mitzi has an oily skin condition so we use special shampoo on her that has to be lathered into her coat for a minimum of 10 minutes before rinsing, they seem well versed in specialty cases and before I could even share the vets instructions they were already completing my sentence, right on the ball they knew exactly what needed to be done. Oh and I nearly forgot they put cotton in the dog's ears and they have a little strap. I guess you'd call it. that goes around the dog's head and ears to keep water from getting in. so this was really important for Max given the previous experience and I haven't had any water issues with any of the three dogs being in their ears. so that's been really, really good, so that's everything that I can think of to mention about grooming. The store itself is stocked. I mean it looks like if you're looking for any type of food or toy or accessory, they've got everything you need. there's no reason to go to any other store, for anything that your dog or cat might need. The owner Mauricimo and his wife are just the most delightful people, honest to God, my father would refer to them as salt of the earth. Just wonderful, wonderful people. I cannot recommend this more than enough. I simply can't tell you how wonderful they all are, it's a wonderful store staffed by wonderful people who are providing the best service I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They also can answer any of your dogs dietary needs. they're certified dieticians. Check them out!!! Support Local!!!

They then Threatened to charge me $25 all the while not having my payment info, for an appointment I canceled the same day! I've actually taken my dog all the way just to hate the groom job that was done. The second time I called was a year later searching for a groomer near me, I realized after that they were the same people and they were too far away so I canceled and those are the threats I got. Never again!

Then she comes downstairs quickly and purrs loudly while directing long, meaningful glances toward her sitter. She's utterly shameless in her admiration for Mary. We try to ignore Miss Violet's outlandish behaviour, but sometimes wonder if we should spend more time at home -- put a little damper on this foolish infatuation. There was a crisis three years ago when Miss Violet swallowed a long string, and we weren't due back for another week. Mary handled the situation beautifully and kept us abreast of what was going on before and after the procedure to remove it. (Thanks, Mary!) Mary has apologized for endearing herself so to Miss Vi, and we forgive her wholeheartedly. She's become indispensable to our gadabout family. I can't recommend Mary Littlefield highly enough to anyone who travels and needs to leave a shy kitty at home.

Myself being a retired dog walker, I tagged along with Mary one week. I saw many different animals…read morein many different situations. Most notable was a dog whose owners were away on a 3 week trip, and Mary was hired to take care of him three times a day. This dog was clearly depressed without his owners. Mary cheered him right up and stayed extra hours with him. She took photos of him and sent them to his owners. Mary understood his emotions and was able to comfort him. At another house there were two cats. When we arrived, they were hiding. Once Mary was there, they came running out. Mary doesn't just feed cats and go, she stays and pets them, plays with them, sits with them and puts them in her lap. What was apparent was how every animal loved and trusted her. She was able to be kind and gentle, but was also able to be firm and set boundaries with dogs that got out of control. You will love Mary's services!

Monkey is very anxious and fearful about getting groomed but because of her breed, she really requires it about every eight weeks or so. Brenda was very understanding of Monkey's needs when I first called her and offered to schedule the appointment first thing in the morning when the shop is quiet. She adjusts her technique to help Monkey feel more comfortable (i.e. trimming one nail at a time in between doing other things so that M. won't become too fearful as she hates having her feet touched). Monkey always looks so adorable after her grooming sessions and I cannot recommend Brenda highly enough!

Allpet Pet Sitting looked promising and I am more than happy with the decision to give Suzanne a chance. She shows up on time, has been more than accommodating to both me and my dog and our health needs, but she also picked up extra shifts at the last minute and went above and beyond (bringing in the mail, etc). We have been boarding our dogs at Palmer Kennels for 15 years. It's been four dogs so far. They are…read moredog-first, which i respect. When our first dog got old, there was a point when they recommended we don't board her. We ended up changing our vacation to bring her with us instead. Not only did we get more quality time with her, but we gained the confidence that our kennel cared about her. Over the years they have reliably fed special diets, medications, and dealt with psychological quirks that a couple of our rescued dogs have had. Our dogs go in happily and come back happily. They have always been healthy in return, which i credit to their strict vaccination policy and quality kibble. - photo is not from the kennel, just dog tax :)

We were boarding our morkie here for nearly 12 years due to its close proximity. Despite the staff being extremely rude and unfriendly, our dog appeared generally happy during short 2-3 day stays. However, we noticed that during longer stays, her feet were usually soiled and hair was matted with a foul odor. We immediately moved her to a more cleanly kennel for long periods of boarding. Additionally, when she was about 14.5 years old, the owner abruptly refused to continue boarding her for short stays simply stating in a very crass manner that she was too old without providing any explanation for this conclusion. Overall, the staff are extremely unprofessional and have little care for their boarders.

Took in a feral cat I was fostering to have matted fur removed and they literally gave me the wrong…read morecat back. Had to insist for hours that the cat I was given was not my foster. Had the vets call me stupid and insist up and down I was crazy. Well, turns out they sedated and shaved their own cat, Stretch, who lives in the office, and sent us home with him right before close. Didn't get so much as an apology from either vet dealing with the situation, they made their vet tech take all the fall. Some of the rudest behavior I've ever seen in animal care. I would never take my cats here. Attached are photos of the foster I brought in and then the cat I was sent home with (each labeled) and had to go racing back with, so you can see just how different they look. Our foster was a longhair, and Stretch is clearly not, so I really don't understand this kind of mixup. Beyond that, Stretch is (and was for us at our house!) very sweet and handlable, CLEARLY not feral like our foster. AND THE CATS ARE DIFFERENT GENDERS. Our poor feral foster was hiding in the back. Had been let out of her carrier and left to hide, and easily could have snuck out a door. Incredible negligence.
