I usually go to Miniluxe but I'm on a tight budget right now so I decided to try this place. I got a pedicure, it was average. They use sugar scrub on your legs and feet and give a quick massage then they rub hot stones on your feet. She got the stones out of a crockpot. I don't want to think about whether or not they sanitize them. All of the tools were already laid out when I got over to the chair so i wasn't able to see if she got them out of a sterilization pouch or not but I have a feeling she didn't. I notice they still use the paddles that look like cheese graters. Thankfully she didn't use this on my heels. She used a pumice stone instead. Again, I don't want to think about the sterilization. The person I had did a good job. She didn't cut me and she painted my nails neatly. That's all I can ask for. Oh and I didn't feel rushed at all but there was only one other customer in the salon at the time. I was impressed with the patience shown by the person doing her nails when she had her change the nail color THREE times. Overall it was fine. After reviewing my credit card statement I found that ManiQ had double charged my credit card for $120.00. I went to ManiQ equipped with my Bank Statement and my mobile app so that I could show them where they had double charged me. They treated me as if I had done something to them. They told me to come back when a certain person was working because that is what was convenient for them even though I had taken time out of my work day to go there. I used to come all the way from Dorchester to get my nails done with Becky. Once Becky left or was fired i still came but my nails were hit or miss. Yesterday was the last straw. The woman who did my nails was awful. She cut me MULTIPLE TIMES. I got a full set and a pedi. I asked the woman multiple times to clean my cuts, i dont think she understood english or didnt care. She cut me on my foot so bad that when she put the sugar scrub it stung so bad i yelled out in pain and she had to wash it off. The acrylic on my nails is lumpy and uneven, also the tech left glue EVERYWHERE. My nail length on my left is longer than the right. My thumb and big toe where she cut me the most hurts so bad and im suppose to go on vacation like this. It was not an enjoyable experience at all! And i paid 90 dollars for a terrible job. I stopped in the Friday before Christmas for a quick manicure. For to most part, the entire staff was very nice. I checked in and only had to wait about 5 minutes. I sit down for my mani and told her I would like a gel french. When it comes time to paint my nails, I told her I wanted two coats of pink. She told me one coat would do. Kinda frustrating that I had to tell her again that I wanted two coats. Whatever, no biggie. My nails looked nice when I left. Fast forward (not even) 48 hours. I'm getting ready for Christmas Eve when I notice that my nail polish is turning YELLOW! Legit yellow. How disgusting! I paid almost $50 for this? I wish I could get the nearly 2 hours and $50+ spent for my birthday manicure back but that's not how life works. I made the mistake of procrastinating forever and chose a place close to where I was at the time that appeared to have decent reviews . I had to wait a few minutes as I did not have an appointment which was fine. And my manicurist was pleasant enough, but she went so fast, gave about a 1 minute hand massage, did my nails, put me under the dryer, and never came back. While I was getting my nails done, I saw another customer in the shop getting her eyelashes done. My experience in past weren't that great. I have been going here for five years. Tolerated the major construction before they moved across the hall and tried to stay loyal. After this last visit I will be looking for a new place to go. Below are the reasons why: After requesting paraffin wax for a previous treatment was yelled at by a staff member I should requested upon arrival. I did. This past time wrote the request in the sign in book and made a verbal request to three staff members. Never did get the services requested again Did not want to get the lecture of requesting the service at the beginning again so I kept quiet. Also felt four requests are more then enough. The first time it was verbal requested twice at the start and got the public lashing then for not requesting it at the start. I have a unpredictable work schedule and when I've gone in only a week apart knowing my next chance wouldn't be for weeks negative embarrassing comments made by the staff of returning so quickly from last time. Part of my job is traveling and requires looking professional while presenting to CEOs. Once done have been forgotten about at the dryer station. Had to learn to operate the system to do the four cycles they want. If you try to leave before the four cycles under the dryer you get spoken to. However if the cycle ends before four rounds no one comes to restart the dryer. The work they do is great work and very detailed. I could go without the negative comments and would appreciate being listened to with verbal and written requests. I've even pointed at the service on the menu cards by the chairs to have it ignored. I'm finding it more embarrassing to get a service that is supposed to be relaxing. read more

I decided to give maniq a try because I noticed they have the dip manicures which I'd always wanted to try. I headed in. My first manicurist wasn't great- she stabbed under my nail so the root bled and then cut my fingers multiple times with the mechanical file. After the manicure, within days my nails started to chip and eventually pop off (within a week and a half). Dip manicures are supposed to be no-chip for a month. However, I'm still leaving four stars because when I went back a few days later, there was no fuss. Ann fixed the nails that broke and the ones that subsequently broke, and on the third trip back she actually redid the entire manicure for free. She was so sweet and meticulous. I waited in the plaza until 11:30 thinking it was my mistake, and someone finally came! She said she had an appt with someone else and said 'i don't know, i have appt, everyone else come later.' This was my first time getting a full pedicure I went in with my cousin as my first time away from my son we were going somewhere to relax . But we weren't expecting to be rushed throughout the whole experience . Saw a sign that said they do reflexology. Booked 60 minutes with Kim and it was super relaxing. They put you in a big reclining chair and cover you with a blanket and towel over your eyes. After a quick foot soak, the relaxation begins. This included my legs, feet, arms hands, shoulders and head and was really awesome! I am a big guy who spends a lot of time on my feet and this was a great way to spend an hour relaxing. This place is in the Walpole Mall and is super clean! Do not waste your money!!!! Went with my sister and got the powder dip. Both manicurists seem to be rushing even though we were the only ones there. SO aggressive cut us both multiple times. Didn't clean up cuticles or under nails at all. Nails are not smooth cut at all. Both of our nails came out REALLY clumpy and missing color in some spots. The environment itself was not sanitary. I've been coming to "this" salon before they relocated across the hall and I've always had a wonderful experience. To clarify, the owners moved location and changed the salon name but it's still the same manicurists. The staffs are friendly and the store is always clean. The new shop is amazing. It's open and airy with glass walls. The pedicure chairs are brand new and I didn't even think the old ones were old at all. When they do your toes the water light up. They have open stations for all equipment and supplies. The nail color options are endless. I can never make up my mind. Highly recommend! read more

Went to this salon for the first time today. I do have to say All the employees were very kind. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. I was a little bummed out because my gel manicure was done while getting my pedicure done so I couldn't enjoy the pedicure, and had to try to balance the dryer on my lap. Also, it's only been a couple hours and the top of my finger looks like the gel is very thin and it's already looks like it's going to peel. read more

this salon is absolutely terrible. the place has changed to different salons several times over the years, it's hard to keep up, but i tried it out and was very disappointed. i got a manicure and pedicure together which was overpriced as a bundle for $42 most places charge $35 on average and do a much better job that doesn't even compare. the manicure in one day was chipped halfway, and by the second day only 2 nails were in tact but the clear polish they put on top wasn't done nicely so there is an outline near the start of it shaped around the nail where it looks like crap. not only did the manicure entirely come out terrible, the polish left bubbles in my manicure read more

I heard good things about this place but they had a woman named Becky do their nails. I had a guy who had long hair. He was kind of aggressive. He was ok at shaping my acrylics but he did not know how to paint nails. I kept trying to take the little pieces of hair off my nails from the brush because he was painting over them. I told him to fix the bubbles on one of my nails twice and then he was about to bring me over to dry them and I told him to fix it again. He then continues to take the brush that he removed the polish from around my nails on my nails, when that doesn't work he uses his finger. THEN he uses the red rag/towel to remove the polish from my nail, once he sees that that doesn't work he FINALLY uses nail polish remover. I kept telling him to fix the corners and he just kept telling me it was the color and that I would have to pick a new one. He was NOT GOOD at painting nails at all. Every time he put one coat on he told me to put my hand in front of the fan... but at my other place (Queens Plainville, MA) they do SUCH a good job.
