Just visited American Nails Spa, and could not be happier! Pedicure was spectacular, with all the trimmings including exfoliant and a mud mask for your legs. The dip manicure was great and the color selection, as you can see, is wide. Dip manicure is a bit thicker than I usually like, but it is gorgeous nonetheless! Unfortunately my review is a challenging one. I want to say Kelly, Helen, Nancy...always lovely and do such a great job. The two of us that go for pedicures are LGBTQ. That hasn't seemed to be much of a problem historically however our appointment today did not go very well. Listen, it's 2025, you must know that technology allows us to understand & translate your language, don't you?? I don't pay to come there to be diced up by your armchair psychology about who we are and why we are there. Or why I am getting a color as a male? Easy answer: because I want to. That's it. Why are we there? Because we want to be. That's it. I guarantee you would NOT say those things to us in English right in front of us like that. Guaranteed. Which is why it's so gross with no excuse for you. The credit card was accepted with a smile. There is zero response you can have in my opinion. I'll make it a weekend part time job to put this review everywhere I can find on the internet. Like a mission and so forth. I hope we are both speaking the same language now and that you fully understand me. I'm actually less angry and more disappointed and upset than anything else after we thought things were always OK there. I went there quite a bit up until I was in the middle of a pedicure and the nail tech splashed me with a ton of water from the tub. I was soaked throughout the whole mani pedi. To make it even better, they charged me full price of the mani pedi until I said something. Not going back after that. I was so uncomfortable through what was supposed to be a pamper day. They did a very thorough job on my nails, were gentle, polite and my nails came out immaculate. Much better service than multiple other salons I've been to in the area. Got a pedicure and it was a great job! This place is super clean and the staff is really friendly. I had a great foot massage and felt super relaxed. Everything is extremely clean and well maintained and I'll definitely be back again. You can't tip on a card so I had to run to Walgreens for cash so you may want to be prepared for that, but I didn't think it was a big deal; for how clean it was and what a good job they did it I didn't mind. I finally found my nail place. After years and years on the hunt for a phenomenal nail place, I am so happy I can across this gem. The service is so amazing. T does my nails, and he always kills it! He's super nice and really listens to what you want. The pedicures are my favorite. I love how they have different types of pedicure you can get and I LOVE that they use hot stones. The selection of dip powder is so huge, I often find myself a little over whelmed. I love how no one tries to pressure you into doing other kinds of services. My go to spot now for nails! Vivian is always a pleasure! Not afraid to do different nail techniques - magnets, designs, ombre. Little bit of a miscommunication last time I went. Set up an appointment online via email. Ask for "5:30 pm tomorrow" on a Tuesday unfortunately they had responded the next day on Wednesday stating "see you at 5:30 pm" I assumed that night (Wednesday) not realizing they were thinking I meant Thursday. Well they fit me in anyways! Prices are comparable with other salons of their quality/service! This isn't California nails that looks like you've jumped back to the 80's! You get what you pay for! They are upscale and the nails last! I get acrylics with Gel polish and they last me a month (I'm always waiting till the last min to get a fill) Even when I need a fill they still look great! I was in the area and looking for a salon. I called and was able to get in without an appt. The salon was very nice and clean. The staff friendly and accommodating. I had a mani/pedi with Lisa. She took her time in making sure that everything was done right and she did a fantastic job. I got a full set of gel nails. They came out horrible. The nail polish started chipping the next day. The nails look bumpy and get wider on the end and thick. I was hopeful when arriving at this nail salon. I've been going to the same nail tech for the past 7 years and moved with her from Dedham to Brookline Ma. Now that she will be moving further away I wanted to try a salon in the area. I went in after work on 8/22/22 and met a women named Leanne. She asked where I was from and why she hasn't seen me and I told her I am trying to find a new nail salon and I wanted to give this place a try because the pictures looked promising. I asked for ombré nails and she did not want to tell me the price until she started doing my nails. I have naturally long nails that I got trimmed and she insisted I pay $5 more because of the length. Mind you customers are getting long acrylics that are at least 5 inches or more and my nails are barely 1 1/2 inches in length. I have gone to salons and never heard this added price. I was charged $70 and paid her tip. The nails don't have an ombré effects it looks more like have pink and half white nails. She told me to come and try the pedicure the next day, and I told her I would come back. I was trying to keep an opened mind. I came the next day and I had a crack in the polish of my thumb nail she was very rude when she saw this and said to me that she was very mad but would fix it. Side note, ails should be functional not only look nice but the dip powder is suppose to make the nails stronger and last longer! Hence the price. When I came the next day, I sat down and began my pedicure which I upgraded to the deluxe pedicure for $38. I told the man I wanted gel and he charged $58 for it. $20 more for gel. Leanne claims that it's because gel is new. Gel has been around for years now it's not new. But because it last longer I could see them trying to suck every dollars it of people because of this. The pedicure was average. Nothing special. I paid and tipped the man. I noticed today 8/25 there were cracks in three of my nails almost like a marbling effect. Since the ombré had white on the top it is very easily noticeable. I was hesitant to call and tell the woman over the phone because of how rude she was with the crack on my thumb, but I wanted to get my money's worth since I paid and also because I have never had this happen to my nails before. I have been getting dip powder for 3 years with no issue. So it seemed she applied more powder and when ever I touch my nail or use my hands they start to marble even more. She told me to come in because she said this has never happened before. I was really feeling like staying home and just never going back again. But I wanted her to see what I saw and explain why it happened or fix it. I walked in around 6:30 pm. She told me to have a seat and show her where the cracks were. I wish this part was a horrible nightmare but what she said to me was not only hurtful, disrespectful, racist and unprofessional. She took a look and said "are you smoking" I said excuse me! She proceeded and said "are you smoking? You must be smoking." Okay this could imply a lot of racially targeted comments... Smoking what? Weed, or crack? Didn't say cigarettes! I stopped her right there. I said I do not smoke and do not ask me such a disrespectful question. I asked if she smoked and she said no. Then I asked her why she would ask a question like that. I have been getting my nails done for 20 years and never have been in this situation. She said to me, "why are your nails so yellow, if you don't smoke?" I knew what she was implying. I am mixed and have beautiful brown skin. I wear makeup that happens to be brown, she knew this but because I am brown I'm a smoker? See pictures below, no yellowing. I am a professional woman and I work hard for my money. At this point I didn't need to sit and stay where I'm not wanted. I told her I'm leaving and I will not be coming back. She kept insisting I stay. I told her she is disrespectful and to never ever ask someone such a question. I am a mother, I couldn't imagine my daughter being subjected to this. I paid, I tipped, I was respectful. But you can't change people. She said how she really feels inside. I don't care about the money. I spent it for a service, but ended up with cracked nails, and rude comments from a woman who doesn't know me and will never get my hard earned money again. If you picky with your nails and want the best service don't go here. You should pay where your comfortable and welcomed. If you have a bad feeling leave right away! read more

I found my favorite nail person here! His name is T and he is pure gold!! My nails are always perfect! I get dip powder and have the longest healthiest nails I have ever had. He takes care to remove it correctly! He also does a complete manicure when you get the dip powder, some other salons either skip that part or rush it. The salon is very clean and the owner is very nice! Despite what Yelp says: they are open 7 days a week!! I guess it is very hard to change things with Yelp. Note: this is under very new ownership so keep that in mind if you see negative reviews. They are likely from past owner issues. read more

Kevin does my pedicures and he's FABULOUS as well. They are super friendly and do wonderful work. The shop is always clean and they are very sanitary. terrible experience! The owner or maybe I suspect the manager was extremely unprofessional. I went twice to get my nails done and a eyebrow wax. The first time she was extremely rough and even told me I needed to sit still and uncross my legs in order to get straight nails; go figure! The second time I went which was today I was told that I was disrespecting her because I was on my phone and moving too much even though I was using the hand that she was not working on. I am in my 40s and have been getting my nails done for 25+ years and have never experienced anything like this! I changed my mind about a color that I picked ( before she put it on ) when she went to go get my second choice of color she was sighing heavily and even stated under her breath "oh my gosh". It was at this point that I decided I would just get my nails done at another place the following day. When I walked in I was missing a nail and she reapplied it. It was so curved that it looks like a claw and she actually told me that was my nail and how it was shaped. The funny thing is that is not how I walked in there or how my nail looked the previous week! I see they have some pretty good reviews so it makes me wonder if it is because I am an African-American woman; (not saying that this is actually what the problem was) perhaps she either didn't like me or was having a couple of bad days... highly unlikely! I came in for a pedicure and it was so relaxing! Much needed "me" time after a long day at work. I made a same day appointment and Michelle did an amazing job. She is very sweet and I recommend you see her! Very easy parking, clean, and large nail spa with many stations. I would definitely come back. The chairs give a great massage too! This is one of my favorite places for a pedicure. The soaking tubs have cool uplighting and they line the tubs! Sometimes I just do a walk in (weekday mornings only when it's slower - the weekends and evenings of course make an appointment - after I get my ice coffee from Dunks across the way!) and they are always accommodating! Normally I don't write reviews like this, but my hands are in pain hours after my gel manicure and others should be aware of what they may have to deal with. I've gone there multiple times before and never had this problem before- but the woman doing my nails was extremely rude and aggressive when it came to cleaning up my nails and doing the manicure. She was visibly annoyed when she presented me with a color no where close to the one I picked before she began my nails. The skin around my nails is burning 4 hours later due to multiple times of using the nail filer on my skin, using the scraper extremely aggressively, and drenching my hands in acetone after all of this. To finish off my "relaxing" manicure, she proceeded to bend my fingers in strange ways and crack all of my knuckles which was extremely painful & even caused me to audibly gasp. Overall, I liked this salon before this experience but I will never be back. Can get a manicure of the same quality somewhere with nice customer service and no pain. read more
