On Tuesday August 4, a friend asked me to pick something up from a dispensary, and Mankind was the closest one to me. The building looked cool from the outside, lots of activity in this strip mall, and the security guard was genuinely friendly. After checking my ID, he asked if it was my first visit. I told him it was. I'm not really a smoker I was just shopping for a friend. Once inside, the experience completely changed. I was obviously lost, looking around like a dumbass trying to figure out what I needed, yet 2 employees walked right past me without offering help. When I finally flagged down an employee to ask about deals he pointed with an attitude to a small plastic sign instead of simply answering my question. My friend wanted Blue Dream, which was advertised at 40% off, so I grabbed two. At checkout, things got worse. I mentioned the first-time customer discount the security guard had told me about. Instead of checking, the employee insisted that "it's not your first time by a long shot. You've been here at least 10 times." We argued for a minute before he realized he'd pulled up someone else's profile. Then gave me a half-assed apology while looking in a completely different direction. He then got all funny about giving me a first-time discount because the items I bought were on sale. Which he did NOT give me. Which is fine if that's the policy. My issue wasn't the discount it was being treated like I was lying. I walked out paying about what I would have paid elsewhere, but with a much worse experience. This brother couldn't see five minutes ahead of himself. He lost what could have been a consistent customer for about $15. I can tell he is not the owner. He is just a stingy employee. The security guard was great. Everyone else made sure my first and LAST visit would be exactly that. I'd rather spend my money at a dispensary with better customer service, even if it costs a more. I have been going here weekly for a year. Mankind was my favorite and my go to dispensary. I ordered something online for pick up and received something different than shown from the picture which was advertised online. Horrible customer service. Yes, maybe it's the same brand but it's not the same as shown in the picture online on their website. The lady wouldn't let me refund it or exchange it. What a joke. I had tried this shake previously and it tastes like dirt. If they had shown the right picture online of the actual product I was receiving, I never would have ordered it. Terribly rude customer service. I called to check out some discounts they have posted on Weedmaps and how to apply them. They do not have it setup to apply 1st time customer discounts on the app so you are forced to call them and figure out how to do it. The woman who answered the phone was short and gave off the vibe I was simply bothering her with my question. I had to call back after completing the order because the discount wasn't properly applied when they sent me a receipt. The same woman has the nerve to give me attitude and say, "if you would have done what I told you it would've worked" ...before I could even finish my sentence about what happened. If the goal was to have people never call your place of business for help, you have achieved the goal. Too many dispensaries in SD to deal with that shit. Since my previous review was removed cause I was calling out all the staff by their names, let me go ahead and give a review without saying their names. If i could give this place zero stars I freaking would!!! They're continuously ringing us up wrong and giving the wrong discounts! One Sunday I had to sit down with one of their "shift leads" and go over my account and he found one of his employees putting in the wrong discounts and let me know he would do more training with his staff. Then I came a couple weeks ago and here we go again! The wrong discount on top of that continuously wrong information given. The location was a bit tricky it's upstairs in a corner. I appreciated how friendly the staff were it was my first time so I would've appreciated a little more guidance and support. I've been to other dispensaries where I can tell them what I'm looking for and what my budget it and they are so helpful and knowledgeable about everything. This was not my experience here. I didn't enjoy the feeling of being encouraged to purchase items outside of my budget although I mentioned a few times "I want to stay within my budget". They had a variety of options and strands which was nice to see and cool bear shaped vape pens. I also liked that they offer a chance to receive $5 or $10 off your order if you can win cornhole. That was pretty creative. They also mentioned they have tax free Tuesdays which takes a few taxes off but not completely tax free. I was most disappointed to notice I only purchased 5 items Pre rolls , gummies and one disposable pen which should've been about $50 given that they offer 20% off for new customers but nope my total was a juicy $70 + City tax + state tax + CA excise tax +fee for debit card I miss the dispensaries that charge the same amount that's on the products. read more

I used to be a regular customer here. But my experiences over the past year have been consistently frustrating. I was once charged for a delivery that never arrived, with no communication or notice until I was finally able to reach them by phone the next day. I was told the delivery window had ended because they were running late, but no one contacted me or offered to cancel the order. I later emailed multiple times for help and never received a response. Months after that, I gave them another chance and avoided pre-payment. But the driver texted me 10 minutes before arriving, asking me to pre-pay through a different payment link than the one on their website. When I said I'd pay upon arrival, I was told that wasn't possible, so I canceled the order. Overall, the customer service feels unreliable and poorly communicated. I can't support a business that handles payments and customer communication this way. read more

Horrific experience. Estaban continuously misgendered me on the phone and when I corrected Estaban, Estaban said "you need to chill" then put me on hold. Estaban came back on the phone and stated no one available and that Estaban was going to take my information. I asked to speak to a manager. Estaban continously misgendered me and even hung up on meand intentionally misgendered right before Estaban hung up. I called back and stated stop miagendering me, Estaban stated "uh ah, I am not doing this", I stated it is not okay to misgender someone that is transphobic. Estaban stated don't yell at me, I stated I am not yelling, I have vocal cord disabilities which is why I called to ask for help. Estaban stated yes you are and misgendered me again. This is the 17th time that I have experienced transphobia and ableism at this site calling in just asking questions. Went in for their 4/20 deals. Asked an employee if there was a limit and she said no, load up. So I did, grabbed 8 packs of the Kanha on the buy 1 get 1 for a dollar deal. Get up to the counter. The guy rings me up and tells me oh it's only limit one. I said the lady over there said it's unlimited. He rudely said nahhh it's on the flyer limit one. I said well I saw the website and it doesn't say limit one. His attitude got worse and he said it's always been that way bro. His attitude was garbage so I said I'll just cancel it. He cleared me out of the system I guess because when I went to get my ONE item, the lady couldn't find my info. I wouldn't have wasted my damn time waiting 25 minutes outside for one item, let alone another 15'or so inside. The only curb side I've found in northern San Diego ( btw I've never had issues with curb side) + all the guest seem to be chill and nice. should be zero stars. everytime i place an order i try to use my points and rewards they always tell me oh you have $30 in rewards so im like cool. before i placed an order i called the place and asked can i use my rewards and coupon as long as it at the minimum they tell me yes. fast forward i place my order, i did what the guy on the phone said, write that i wanna use my rewards + coupon and mind you in the note i authorized them to add additional items to make sure its at the minimum , they come and again i ask did you use my rewards he says idk and calls them. they say oh we cant bc its below the minimum. whats the point of a rewards system if you never allow me to use my rewards. this really makes me want to stop shopping here read more

I've been a regular for 2-3 years and am never going here again. For about a year every other time I get something using the curbside pickup service there are issues that really have no excuse. Missing items in my order, deals not being added even though they are clearly written in the order instructions, wait times getting longer and longer with no reason or apology. It's especially bad on new deals I notice, no staff seems to even be aware they exist when you use them and are unhelpful when they make a mistake. read more

The Jury is out on Mankind for me. I'm stuck between a 3 and 4 star review! They got a solid 3.5 based on my 1st time there. Mankind advertised all these great deals for the 1millionth customer. So my friend and I decided to check them out. This was my 1st time in a "legal" dispensary. Sign in was easy and we got to spin a wheel for a prize. I also asked if the have FTP deals, she said yes 20%, just show your ID at checkout. My issue is they didn't say you can't combine what you won at the door and the 20%. Had to calculate the math....and I took door #2.. the 20%... would have been nice to know that prior to putting unnecessary sh*t in your basket.. anywho.. The store is pretty small but there wasn't a lot of people there so that was nice. We were immediately greeted and asked if we needed assistance. Everyone that helped us were real cool and I have to say Jennifer had some real legit recommendations. So far what she recommended was to my liking.. so much that Im still trying to wrap this review up LOL. The staff messed up my order and got incredibly rude with me over the phone. Demanding that I pay for the same purchase multiple times. Gaslighting me and saying that I didn't actually pay. Allow me to explain. So I did a BOGO special and when the delivery arrived in the morning, the promotional extra wasn't there. We called dispatch and they said to have the delivery guy update the order to reflect the tax on both. I paid with CC, got a receipt and was told someone would come by later to deliver the promo and said they were sorry not including it. A few hours later a new guy shows up asking me to pay again. I explain to him what happened and he says I'm good and leaves. About ten minutes later I get an aggressive knock on my door telling me "they said you didn't pay" "couldn't find proof of your order" proceeded to interrogate me, Ask me to show my bank statement, asking to see the receipt again. Even after they ask that I pay again. I'm pretty upset by this point. Wasting about 15 minutes going back and forth. So after reading the receipt to them over they say "oh T&C" why didn't you say that earlier? Here's the thing, they knew I paid with credit card... Why would you send your employee to harass me without checking all your systems of record for a receipt. How many systems do you have that hold records for credit card deliveries? You were lazy and treated me as if I was trying to steal. You spent more time gaslighting me and wasting my time then you spent doing your job. I went here because it was actually the closest to me according to my gps, so I get there and these ppl have everything you can imagine, and they have a pretty large variety of cannabis plants to choose from but they didn't have a lot of half ounces or ounces, they only had their cannabis in eighth's, which is 3.5 grams. They have some of the freshest stock keef, pre rolls, wax, resin you name it they got it but if you don't have medical card its gonna cost you. A 3.5 of some top shelf cost me 70$ that's with the 5$ discount bottom line fantastic product but they cost. read more

The staff was amazing here and although there was a line to get in .. it didn't take very long. We got ID'ed outside and then were transferred inside to the waiting lobby area. I think we waited a total of about 20 minutes or so. My sister and I are both from Texas and were not required to show any other form of ID except our driver's license. We did not need any medical records or forms either. The merch inside is crazy. They have everything from teas, gummies, chocolates, hard candies, and even soft drinks! You name it and they will probably have it! We were mostly here for their edibles and we got exactly what we wanted and maybe a little bit more! The service outstanding. We were asked if we needed help and no one gave us looks or anything for asking questions. (some of the questions were pretty "newbie") The employee explained the differences between many of the different items and even explained how CBD and THC work. What I liked about this place compared to other dispensaries is that they allow everyone to go in at the same time, not one by one.
