This is the best vegan restaurant in Chicagoland. There are a wide variety of menu items daily for lunch and dinner (closed Sunday/Monday). Our favorite is the Rueben, an enormous sandwich than can easily feed two. The Mac and Cheese is a nice side if you don't want the fries! Have you tried eating vegan? I hadn't either really. My family has some problems with dairy though, so we have tried several options at home lately, but this was our first fully vegan restaurant. And it was good! Our lunch was a club sandwich, buffalo cauliflower, and sweet potato fries. Now substitutions are obvious and yet satisfying. Dried mushrooms for bacon doesn't sound like it is going to work. And I admit you can tell the difference. But it still scratches the itch and tastes good! We are used to beyond meats so the chick'n was no problem. And I love buffalo cauliflower, bettwr than buffalo chicken if I am honest. Seriously some good food with no animals harmed. Did you stick around? Then you get to know the secret. Try the cakes. They are wonderful. The carrot cake was hard to put down. The menu changes often though, so try what you can get. read more

Always busy during dinner rush, parking can be a bit challenging especially on the weekends. Walked in and was greeted and given time to make our selections. Prices are a little bit on the higher side but that's expected given this genre. Decided to dine in, food took a little while to come out maybe 15 minutes. It was very fresh and hot. I will say like other people have mentioned about the tower burger ,it's mushy. Personally it didn't bother me ,but if you are looking for a more firm Patty or more resemblance to an authentic meat burger I would recommend the beyond Burger. Plenty of seating, lots of tables in the additional room. There are a lot of vegan snacks, different types of jerkies along the wall when you first walk in. The moment you walk in you're greeted by a happy smiling face with a warm welcome! The space had nice vibes and had a private party section on the other part of the restaurant. My kiddos came with me and there were a couple options that they would actually go for (which I was pleasantly surprised by). They bring the food to your table after ordering and it was very quick. I ordered my kids some buttered elbow noodles and french fries... Can't go wrong with the classics! They ate them up and really loved the fries (myself included). The vegan cheese sauce was good too. It has a really nice consistency and flavor I wasn't expecting. I also ordered the tower burger with fries and it was SO AMAZING. I had read reviews prior to ordering and was not disappointed. It is a little messy so prepare yourself haha the tomato-ey puree combined with the fermented (yes it scared me at first too) veggie burger and crispy onion strings were a great combo and the chipotle aioli on top had a nice kick without being overwhelming. I definitely recommend that entree for first timers like myself... I even ate my leftovers for dinner and it was still just as yummy. I am curious as to what the other vegan meat and cheese substitutes taste like so I definitely would like to go again! And I'm by no means vegan whatsoever... My sister arranged for takeout for us. She eats here often and loves everything. I am a vegetarian and need to eat gluten-free and she's an omnivore who is super open to trying new things. We each had the burrito bowls with tempeh. I dislike creamy things and ordered mine without sour cream, which they still added, but I was able to scoop most of it out. I should have skipped the "creamy queso", too. That was my mistake, so I take full responsibility. It made the whole dish quite moist and saturated. My sister loved her meal plus a side of jack fruit crab cakes. I appreciate the skill and effort that went into the dishes, but I'm afraid they just weren't for me. A lady came to the front door and told us that they were not letting people in even though there were available tables. No signs posted announcing temporary closure. I really did like the option to purchase a variety of healthy alternative foods, such as different local nut butters, cake options, etc. I think their offering really contributes to the message of the kitchen. Cauliflower wings - the flavor was great, but didn't end up seeping through the cauliflower - just stayed on the outside. This was my favorite dish of the two just because the flavoring was awesome. I really liked that they included the dressing as well! Manna burger - my burger was just too heavy and soggy! I didn't find the burger to have much flavor and thought my fries were almost stale tasting. I will say, the decor is great! I liked how the interior dining area is really spacious, and they have outdoor seating available for the warmer months. We looked on Yelp for a vegan spot while visiting from out of town and found this oasis. It is in a strip mall and yet has a warm and welcoming ambience. There are twinkle lights around the windows and two rooms with ample yet spaced seating. You walk in and up to a counter to place your order, then they give you a number to put on your table if dining in. The menu is extensive and varied and all plant based which is super exciting! It was a bit busy so we got carrot cake to start while waiting for our food to be ready. It was deliciously moist and flavorful with lots of nuts and raisins plus a hearty carrot flavor. By the time we finished our meals arrived. We split the bbq cauliflower appetizer but it was a large size with around 8 large pieces on a bed of lettuce. It was amazing! I loved the sweet Barbeque sauce and ranch dip. It was tender yet crispy without being oily. I also ordered the Mac n cheese which was a large bowl topped with mushroom bacon. The cheese is cashew based but you would never know because it is so creamy and smooth. My husband had one of their in house burgers which he enjoyed. It was topped with quite a few micro greens and a tangy mustard sauce which he took off and ate as a salad. All told it was a bit pricey for the meal but was worth it! We even had some Mac cheese for another day. The chocolate pudding: I don't understand how this was vegan. It was perfect, chocolaty, rich, delicious pudding. To be honest, I was VERY excited to try this restaurant. I placed an order online, and gave them a call about 17 mins later to check on the order's status, since I hadn't received an email confirmation as it stated on the website I would. It was clear they hadn't noticed the order came through, resulting in a longer wait time. I didn't make a fuss -- I was kind and patient. I went into the restaurant at the time they said my order would be ready. The door makes a loud bell/chime noise. It's a small space and there was a small group in there and one other customer sitting down. The woman at the counter did not greet my daughter and I, nor did she turn from her computer/tablet screen to acknowledge our presence. I waited a few seconds to see if she would. I finally said "Hello, I'm here to pick up an order for ______." She barely turned and responded, and proceeded to hand me my order. Now, I'm a black woman and my expectation when visiting establishments is to be mistreated, because that is what usually happens. I can't confirm that had anything to do with it. But it's a predominantly white town and I was just passing through from Chicago. It's impossible for the host/cashier to have not heard me enter the restaurant. The food looks incredible, though I haven't tried it yet. I'm still excited, but was disheartened and disappointed in the service. That will make a paying customer uncomfortable and not want to come back or recommend. Hopefully others can have a more positive experience than that. read more

Unprofessional, bad looks, condescending tones, and passive aggression which made both me and my boyfriend very uncomfortable. Very expensive and food is incredibly bland. The cheese was so creamy and tasteful that the vegan ingredients did not deter from classic macaroni and cheese texture. Manna Kitchen truly knocked our socks off!! Upon walking in, you're met with beautiful and very mellow and relaxing decor. This is the first time I've tried anything vegan and I was blown away. For my entree, I ordered the Tower Burger with Parmesan Fries. I took a bite and said, "Wow." I split it with my sister too and she said, "Dude, oh my goodness, I should've ordered this!" It was SO good!! The BBQ sauce was not overpowering at all. Not too tangy. The mozarella worked surprisingly well with all of the flavors. The crispy onions added a perfect crunch. I was shocked that it was vegan and it tasted as good as it did! My sister came with me, so we also ordered the Panang Curry ($14.99) and the Nachos ($13.99?). It was delicious too! The Panang Curry was so flavorful and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. I wasn't huge on the tofu but the vegetables were soft and well cooked. The Nachos were amazing too and so tasty. I also ordered a slice of Black Forest Cake and WOW was it delicious! It was moist, the chocolate was perfectly rich, the cherries light. There was enough filling to frosting and cake ratio. Everything about it was amazing. I believe my slice was $7.50 which is a bit expensive for a single slice of cake but I know it was also gluten free I think, so those kinds of foods are a bit more pricier. They had such a great variety of drinks too it was so cool to see other brands than the usual Coca-Cola. They also have chips, butters, and bread for sale too. As a non-vegan, I could truly tell the difference of how I felt after eating. I felt cleaner and less bloated. And it didn't taste odd in any sense, as some stereotyping non-vegan would claim. It was absolutely amazing, flavorful, and well balanced. All of the items were very generously portioned. I think pricing is fair when you consider how much more expensive vegan items are in general. I don't think it was overly expensive but rather fair given the vegan market. I am in love with Manna Kitchen. I've never ventured out into the vegan space and I am so glad Manna was my first experience. Service was so great, with Ryan at the counter offering suggestions. I also noticed that all the cooks in the kitchen also had hairnets and masks on and even nets if the cook had facial hair. Unfortunately, that's a rare find nowadays surprisingly. It's a vegetarian/vegan paradise. I tried the truffle burger based on the employee's recommendation it was great it came out and it was huge! Looked like a chicken sandwich but of course it wasn't. Pretty tasty, waffle fries are always a plus. There was a small issue that was rectified (which I'm not going to share). The cookies looked huge and I'm a sucker for chocolate chip it was delicious and huge. The manager rectified the issue I had with a dessert but that wasn't good either it was some type of tapioca pudding. Looking for a (clean) vegan restaurant in the good 'ole suburbs of Lisle? Who would have thought? Not just any welcome vegan restaurant, Manna Kitchen is the spot. We've been longtime fans of Manna bread (found in Whole Foods) and when we heard that Markus was opening a restaurant, we had to visit. Manna burger (pictured) included a housemade patty (I wanted to stay away from any Impossible or Beyond patties) and it was delicious. The waffle fries were a great addition. We also had the Schnitzel Platter with the vegan sour cream which was awesome. Also had a side of steamed broccoli and cauliflower as well as the cole slaw. Oh! And the cauliflower buffalo wings were delicious as they were lightly battered and tasty.
