My first time visiting Wholey Granoly with my bestie and it was extremely satisfying and delicious. We each ordered the pistachio latte and that was sooooo good topped with sweet whipped cream and crunchy pistachio. She ordered a mushroom, spinach panini with sweet potato fries and that was soooo good and hearty. I got an vegetarian omelet with pancakes and that was pretty darn good. But I was most impressed with the service. Everyone was just so attentive on every level and it made the experience so much better on top of the good food. We went to IKEA and were starving, so we knew we had to eat so we didn't get hangry being lost in there for hours. We got wholey granoly to go and were pleasantly surprised. The highlight for me was the salad with Asian flavors (not finding what the name was on the menu) and the coconut pistachio shake. My partner got the heath shake and shrimp po boy. We weren't too impressed by the flavor of that; shrimp had that not fresh texture and slightly fishy flavor, in my opinion. The restaurant itself didn't have AC that day and it was SO HOT in there. The Mediterranean bowl with chic peas was light and fresh although I thought the crispy chic peas were a bit overdone. The salmon Benedict was tasty and we got it with poached eggs. The service was ok. The place itself is pretty ugly on the inside. The AC unit was broken. The bathroom is very dirty and it really threw me off. Wholly moley I'm in love with Wholey Granoly! I couldn't be more excited to find a restaurant with gluten/vegan pancakes. Pretty sure this is the first (or second) place I've found that offers it. I also loved how inclusive the menu is to lots of different groups of people. I was excited to hear that Wholey Granoly was now offering halal options! Usually when we go out for breakfast we have to stick with veggie skillets or eggs benedict; not complaining, but grateful to have some meat options. The parking lot is spacious enough and it wasn't too busy when we went on Saturday morning. I like that there are two entrances: one for full service and one for quick service. We wanted to sit there and eat, so we chose the full service door. The interior is spacious and looks good enough for a fast casual place; the green & yellow decor is fine, but nothing to write home about. It was chilly inside, but then again it was 8:30 in the morning. In any case, we ordered a Brazilian steak skillet with a biscuit as the side, which came with two eggs, and a mini sampler for my son, which came with an egg, two small pancakes, and halal bacon. The Brazilian steak skillet was excellent. The steak and the chimichurri sauce were delicious, the potatoes were cooked nicely, and there was adequate cheese for a nice gooiness. I was so very happy to have tried Wholey Granola! I was always cognizant they were in that specific area, but it wasn't until today that I finally tried them. They seated us in a cute two person booth near the front. Unfortunately, the table stunk and wobbled. Oh well. My husband went with their veggie skillet. It had a yummy hollandaise sauce that I was surprisingly a fan of. I would have preferred a bigger portion or avocado on top, but that is not how they do it. Fair enough. I went with their mushroom melt on sourdough. Once again, the portion wasn't very large and I would have preferred a soup or something in addition. Yet, it's just the sandwich and fries. Which they initially gave me hash browns instead of fries. I waited for my fries and my husband waited for his pancakes. Why is it we have to get food piece mail style? The pancakes (when they eventually came) were quite tasty. My husband's skillet was also pretty decent. My sandwich was nothing to write home about, and the fries were even worse. Ore Ida style without flavor. I was a bit bummed that the manager also went to all the tables with the exception of ours. Weird, as I thought he would also stop at our table to inquire about our food/etc. customer service for all? Oh well. The waitresses were super nice, though. Would I go back? Probably. Hubby ordered a Brazilian steak skillet - marinated grilled tenderloin, mozzarella, chimichurri, roasted peppers and charred red onion. Drizzled with chimichurri sauce. It came with 2 eggs which he ordered over medium. He rated his meal a 4. Ambiance was simple, modern, spacious and bright. It had a clean vibe with lots of green, yellow, and light woods. There were several 4 person table-tops, that could be pushed together for larger parties. There was also some bench seating. 4 stars. Our server was nice enough. Wholey Granoly has been on my list of places to try for quite some time now. So I finally went and I can say that it is worth the hype! When you walk in, there's 2 entrances - one for dining and one for takeout - which is amazing so people don't crowd up the same area. We decided to get the chorizo skillet and the tres leches french toast. The chorizo was seriously INSANE. The chorizo was so flavorful, the potatoes were perfectly seasoned and crispy, there was a beautiful egg, lots of avocados, salsa, corn, and black beans. All of the components came together so well for such a delicious skillet. The tres leches was good, but was too soggy and watery for my liking. There were fresh berries on top and yummy whipped cream. I will say that I have had better tres leches french toast than I had here. I would 10000% go back for the skillet. I felt that it brought the mood up and was very pretty. My biggest concern, however, was the service. Paying roughly $20-25 a person, I assumed the service would be quick. Getting seated took nearly 10 minutes with multiple open tables and our order wasn't even taken for another 20-30 minutes. The waiters were nice but nothing over the top, and they were not working fast despite the conditions. I would not recommend Wholey Granoly as there are other breakfast options available. read more

Wholey Granoly (WG) has been my favorite breakfast spot since opening, thanks to the high quality ingredients and great variety. So when my nephew's traveling hockey team was in town for a tournament - and they asked about WG - I gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up. We ended up popping up on them with a HUGE group (25+) including hungry 11/12 year olds Friday morning and they handled it like absolute champs. It was a last second decision following a game in Bolingbrook so we didn't have a chance to give them a heads up. They quickly sat us, expertly handled ordering, and teamed up to run the food as it came. I know it had to be overwhelming but they handled it with a smile. First time visiting this restaurant. I think it used to be a Panera. You walk in and it's really a great atmosphere, I forgot to take a picture though. It was a little chilly as I wish I had a sweater, maybe that was intentional as I had to order a hot tea to warm up. Quite a variety of breakfast and lunch items some with an Asian twist. my cousin and I got two bowls to try a little bit of each. The Southwest bowl was just okay but we really enjoyed the Banh Mi bowl. You choose the base of Jasmine, rice, quinoa, cauliflower rice, or salad. Adding a protein cost extra. While it was very tasty the portion size is a bit small for not having the protein and a few hours later. I'm left hungry. I definitely will go back but either the portion size should increase or throw in the protein for the price that's charged. read more

Well. Not the best restaurant Ive been to. We did get greeted at the door nicely, got sat in the corner and waited for our waters for a bit. Usually at restaurants you would get served waters right as soon as you're sat down, but no we had to wait a bit. When the waitress came, she was fine, took our orders, but when the food came out... I ordered a Baked Potato Skillet and received a Bayou Skillet that had shrimp in it. I have a shellfish allergy..... It took a little bit to get the attention of a different server to let her know the mistake, she apologized and got started on a new plate for me. Our original server couldn't come to table and apologize. We finished our food and then the check came. The check had said "Bayou Skillet" which we did not order, and it was about $2 more expensive than the Baked Potato Skillet I originally ordered. The waitress seemed to have a bit of an attitude because she had to fix the check mistakes. Overall, service wasn't great. I appreciated the waitress with short hair and glasses who was very helpful, but other than that, the service sucked. Everything took a while. Food was good though. For the steak omelette and sandwich the steak was a little tough and was a little odd with the shape being in balls.
