On July 26th at 1:45 p.m., the driver was speeding and driving erratically in heavy traffic on Highway 17 between Shallotte and Ocean Isle. His speed was excessive as he swerved around us, cutting in and out of traffic. Our speed was @ 65 mph in a 55 mph zone and he was well in excess of that as he cut other drivers off and tail gated them. I called the number on the back of the van and asked if I had reached the office or the van and the man that answered said, "I'm in the office." Obviously he was not when I told him the reason for my call was to report a reckless driver of one of Spell's vans. The man asked me if I was in the left or right lane and then proceeded to tell me that, "Oh! You were the one impeding traffic!" He continued to spout words as I hung up - realizing not only was he reckless but also a liar. Whether this van driver was the owner or an employee - he should be more aware that it is very easy to take someone's life with careless actions. How stupid to be such a jerk with your company's name written all over your vehicle.
