With the weather's heat and medication I can be overheated quickly and get very very sick. I paid J&D $1600 to repair my AC/Heating system for that reason. They made a big deal about washing out animal hair from a drum with a hose that took 5 minutes. I don't know if the parts they replaced were even necessary or not since they never showed me the old parts. It didn't turn on with the new parts. From the date they allegedly repaired the central AC/Heat I have never been able to use it. I suffered for years begging them to please repair it. I called them the same day and they claimed I had done something to the system. I hadn't touched it except at the Thermostat to turn it on. They put in another part and it still wouldn't work. Then they said it was electrical which if it had been the problem why didn't they tell me that before they started work if the end result would be AC wouldn't work? I would have had the electrical repaired if indeed it had been the actual problem but it isn't. The AC filters were changed on a regular basis every month with new ones being put in. I swept up or vacuumed animal hair every day several times a day. I had Duke Energy check the actual AC system to see if had to be replaced. It didn't. I had General Contractor Jesse Lochless check the Outdoor Breaker Box and fuses. The fuses were replaced after the J&D AC repair work and are still working fine. The breaker box didn't need to be replaced for years after they allegedly repaired my AC. It didn't need to be replaced at the time they did the AC work. Neither did the Indoor Breaker Box need to be replaced. As a precaution I replaced both anyway. It made no difference to the AC/Heat working which I had gone without for years due to their fraud. I begged them constantly to repair it even though I told them it wasn't the electrical. I filed with the Attorney General. They called me and threatened to sue me for telling the truth. They had pulled the same thing on my parents who had a new AC system that never worked.My stepfather died from being overheated. He shouldn't have to repair a new system at all let alone countless times. He went without for over a year. I don't know what excuse they used for why my parent's new TRANE system didn't work. They had the nerve to blame me for my stepfather dying because we should have put him in a shelter. What about he wouldn't need to go to a shelter if the AC system he paid for worked right? I don't know if their employees are trained properly or not. They were paid by both me and my parents even though the AC system never worked. I have begged them again to repair it once and for all so I don't have to suffer. That was a great deal of money for me and I shouldn't have to keep repairing the same system if it was repaired right. I checked with other AC companies to see what they said about all of this. They said it was unethical for these people to charge me to repair the AC if the end result would be it doesn't work. They said that if it had truly been the electrical they shoudl have told me before they did any work allegedly repairing the AC. They have let me suffer for years after paying them every cent I had. They also always blame the client for any problems claiming they don't maintain the system or whatever. I did maintain the system with regular AC filter changes. I removed any outside dirt that I saw. I've had to keep the door open at night to air out all the heat. Dirt comes in because of it. I hate it. I have had to use fans and space heaters and be a prisoner in my bedroom because of their lying.

He explained the whole process...everything from the installation to the financing. The unit was installed within a reasonable time frame. After the unit was installed, they even sent someone out to verify and check all of the work that wad done. We are still enjoying our air!

Makes me wonder if the owner is writing the comment or is it a manager Only person I can speak with is a manager. I want to know why we were charged $1647.10 & the century F48SP6L12 blower cost $150-$200. Labor can't cost $1400. For about 30-60 mins of work. I also want to know why the quickest they can get this new part is Thursday & they can't give us a scheduled date for service. This isn't good customer service or helping customers. I am at the point I just want our money back. I also want to know why they make customers pay 100% up front. I could understand if it was a specialized part but this is a common part. I am not getting anywhere so far w this company either w phone calls or emails. I emailed corporate (not their Sanford office) the company that owns their company. Hopefully someone can help resolve these issues. * On 5/26/26, the inside hvac unit started to make noise. My husband & I turned the ac off & called this company to come out to find the problem. They were quick with this service call. Riley (technician) helped us find the problem, something to do w the bracket & the fan. That cost was about $90. That was the diagnostic & stuff charge. My husband spoke to the company regarding the part & labor that we needed to fix it. We were charged:$1647.10. We had to pay the entire amount before they would order the part. We did have a little over $1100, we were short $500. Needed a couple days to have enough money. Once we had the amount, my husband called & made the payment. They said it takes about 7 days for the part to come in. So we had to wait longer w no ac in this carolina heat. I don't understand why the company made us pay for the service up front & we haven't even received anything yet from them. I can see asking for 50% up front not 100%. Regardless on 6/5/26, they state the part came in. However they won't be able to make a service call until 6/8/26. I thought they serviced people that had emergencies. Isn't being without ac an emergency? And let's state the fact we already paid for the service. Add to the fact w emergency, it would also be a medical emergency for someone that resides in the house. They wouldn't be able to come until 12-5 on 6/8. On 6/8, Riley is the technician. The part that was ordered, a brand new part we paid for has corroded wiring (enclosed pics). Even if that is the fault of the manufacturer it was sent from, does this company check items they receive when delivered? He came about 6 pm. It was later than we were originally told. I am not faulting the technician however the company that schedules the appointments. So we are going on over 2 weeks with out central ac. To me this company failed me & my husband. They are not opened right now for me to call them. I will be calling tomorrow. Hopefully things are made right. So far this company deserves a rating lower than a 1. And I will be contacting corporate too.

    Suretemp's so-called maintenance plan? More like a plan to keep them in business , definitely not…read moreto keep your AC working. We pay for that plan to prevent situations exactly like this. Instead, after their maintenance visit yesterday, our system completely went downhill. We're under a severe heat advisory, stuck sweating inside, and Suretemp has been nowhere to be found. We called their 'emergency line' last night , no response. Called again when they opened -- nothing. A technician was supposedly on the way during a fixed time frame, they never showed. No updates, no calls, no fix. We pay monthly for peace of mind and reliable service. Instead, we got silence and a broken AC right when we need it most. If you value working air conditioning, especially during extreme heat, I suggest you look for a company that actually shows up.

He listened to my concerns and why I was looking to replace the system, as opposed to just repairing itI He took his time examining the area where the system would go, and ultimately told me that there was NOT room for a dual system, without extensive extra work. One of the other companies just wrote an estimate without any mention of extra work or concern about space. Shane's approach was just so professional compared to the other two reps. After agreeing to go with Sure-Temp, Shane was there throughout the process to assure that everything was to my satisfaction. Sure-Temp was not ther least expensive, but their approach to doing business means so much; it is worth it, to me, to pay the little extra.The other two companies are well known around Sanford, but, for my money I will only work with Sure-Temp. BTW, when I first started having problems, I contacted one of the other companies and they did not respond as advertised; in fact I had to call them again to get a response. Not acceptable!
