We communicated via email and he assured me that I would not be wasting my time in visiting the store. When we met, he was friendly and took the time to evaluate the piece from every angle. He was upfront and honest, and worked with me to negotiate a selling price that was mutually advantageous. His demeanor was extremely down to earth, very different from other jewelers that appear to suffer from superiority complexes. The store itself was full of stunning, original pieces. I verbalized with Terry the specifications I had for my ring. All I told him was that I wanted a platinum skinny half pave band set for an oval diamond we had already selected. It sounds simple enough, but this was difficult to find! Just days later, he updated us that he already produced a mold of the setting that had the specifications of my gem. Then, I was completely caught off guard because just days after he sent us a picture of the mold, the entire ring was completed and on my finger. When I received the ring, I was honestly blown away - it was exactly what I wanted. The most impressive part of this entire experience is Terry's ability to understand his clients' needs. I didn't even show him a picture of what I wanted, but just described to him what I wanted. I couldn't believe he knew the exact thickness of the band I wanted just based off of the description of "skinny," and letting him know I had slim fingers (lol). He has an incredible breadth of knowledge and experience that allows him to correctly interpret even your most vague requests! Super friendly, efficient, and fair pricing. But so far, everyone we've interacted with at Luo's has been great and very friendly. I was pretty picky in my wedding band and Calvin walked me through various options, what the durability and wear would look like and since I was looking for yellow diamonds, he helped me select a band where the yellow hue would be vibrant. I had an overall positive experience with Gage, but would want to warn customers of a few things…read morebefore going there. The appointments are very quick, no frills, and I had to do all of my own research. We left my second appointment with little to no information (didn't know my ring size, what ratio was, ideal clarity and color for the cut we chose, etc.), and were just told to select a stone and purchase the ring on their website. Unfortunately, my ring was also posted on their social media just days after my fiancé picked it up. During the checkout process, they have an option to add a "TikTok Video" when making the final purchase, which we deliberately did not add because my fiancé did not want the ring to be posted before he proposed. They also never asked him if they could post the ring. Based on our friends experiences with other jewelers, we thought it was reasonable to assume an engagement jeweler would wait to post until after the proposal. They posted without asking, and of course, our friends and I saw it on their socials. We definitely felt like "just a number" when it came to those parts of the process. Besides that, everything was great. During the design process, Frankie was very responsive and helpful, and the ring turned out beautifully. I love how customizable their rings are, and the customer service after we'd selected a diamond was great. I am definitely happy with the outcome, but would just make sure my friends have done their own independent research ahead of their appointment, and are very clear with Gage about social media expectations ahead of time.
