My husband got my engagement ring there and we were exchanging it for a different one and the buying process was wonderful (but as it should be if you are spending that kind of $$). Now is where it goes downhill cause waiting for it to be set and sized took forever. They kept saying it would be done next week then next week... I gave them an ultimatum and said if it isn't ready next week (as already promised) I would not be buying my wedding band there. Guess what? Yup ring wasn't ready. But it was a blessing in disguise! We bought our wedding bands from Steve Quick and they came out great. We also got my wife's engagement ring resized here since it was an heirloom piece and the band was too large. It took about 5 weeks for them to finish resizing the engagement ring (2 weeks longer than originally estimated) but my wife was very pleased with the results so it was well worth the wait. I only wish I had known about the Yelp discount they offer before purchasing our wedding bands, because we did a custom design for my wife's wedding band with Steve Quick and we certainly could have used that $150 off discount! Overall a fairly positive experience at Steve Quick. I contacted them via Yelp, setup a few things, went in and had the batteries on my watches changed. That simple! 44 bucks for two watches, not bad but I was quoted at $10 Per watch. 4 stars for the "white glove" treatment (watches weren't scratched. 4 stars for quickness (had me out of there in 15 minutes) 4 stars for overall professionalism. I had to bump the stars down to 3 because one of the watches was off center and I had to go in myself and adjust it, (pictured below) no big deal, kinda, but when paying a premium I'd expect things to be done correctly. Steve Quick Jeweler will have by business forever* I have been to many jewelers and they all supported my idea of having it redone, as I just did not think I liked the look of it (the ring did not even fit my finger, I could not wear it appropriately-why would I like it?). He knew my opinion was skewed because of the ill-fitting ring and out of everyone I went to, he was the only one to send me out with just a plastic ring fitter (a temporary spacer to make the ring smaller); he knew I needed to wear the fitted ring around for a couple of days before making any decisions and before spending ANY money (yep, my first experience with him and he did not try to make a penny). After I wore it around, I FELL IN LOVE with my ring. I went to Brandon and got it resized, he gave me an estimated time of 4-5 days (which is typical), BUT SENT ME A TEXT AT THE END OF THAT DAY INFORMING ME IT WAS DONE! I have never been so pleased with a service. I even went back to make it a bit smaller and again, he had it done by the end of the day. Long ago, when I was just beginning to grasp the vast social potential of Yelp.com, I attended a Kellie K. office hours at Farragut's. There, I met a few veteran Yelpers including the kind and wonderful Sarah B. I know this is my third update, but they really deserve praise here. A few weeks ago, I had them solder and engrave my engagement and wedding rings together. Took about a week to do because of the amount of work to do (and because I was obviously not the only customer). I got them back and I noticed as soon as I left that my engagement ring was not quite centered on top of my wedding ring (it's a contoured band). I tried really hard to let that go, but I just couldn't. It'd gotten to the point where I wasn't noticing how pretty my rings were, I was just noticing they weren't lined up right. Now, this wouldn't be a big deal to most, however I'm told that I have this eye for design where things MUST be even or it bothers me to no end. A very small percentage of the population has this eye, which is why one of the other workers on hand had to look through her diamond microscope to see what I meant. In other words, I became a huge pain in their butt because I took it back a few days later and explained that I'd noticed it. Traci was very nice and accommodating once again, and she told me they'd have it done in a few days. I felt bad because it was a lot of work for them to have to re-do, but everyone was super nice about it and assured me it wasn't a problem. I really appreciated that. I know I was thinking that I was just being a pain in the butt (and maybe they were too) but nobody ever let on that they thought that, which is pretty cool. read more

It took 5 days just to get an estimate for resize/repair for my rings. I gained a lot of weight after having a baby and my rings got stuck so I had to have it cut off. One diamond fell out as a result from wedding band but I had it with me. My usual jeweler was closed on Saturday so I thought it would be ok to get it fixed here. They quoted for 420 dollars for resizing and fixing my rings. It was wayy too expensive for just resizing and putting back a tiny diamond back. (Heck I paid 500 for my wedding band) so I took it back to my usual jeweler and he quoted the exact same process for 150 dollars, which is very reasonable. People were nice there so that's why I'm giving two stars. Never coming back. Edit:Mr.Steve Quick called me himself and apologized, and offered to do it for free. I already gave rings to my usual jeweler so I didn't take the offer but I do appreciate his customer service, so I'm changing it to 4. While I haven't been to Steve Quick, yet!, I know for a fact that my fiance had a fantastic experience there and here's why: 1. He did not come home in a huff after his "secret" (please, guys you can't keep anything from us girls) trip, like he had with every other jeweler. 2. He didn't ask me a million times if this was reeeeeally the ring I wanted (which means it must has been easy to order a custom-made version of the ring I love) 3. I probably wouldn't have bothered writing a review of these guys if I hadn't called so many times and sat on hold where they continually advertise how proud they are of their 5 star rating. I don't quite get that strategy because I would like to give them 0 stars if at all possible. I should preface that I'm not the standard customer, meaning I wasn't buying a big ticket item and my business to them would be at most $100. I get it, chump change to Steve Quick, but I was there to give them my business and would have left a positive review if I had been treated decently. I wish I could go back in time and get the names of some of the employees I talked to, but oh well. I came in on a Saturday afternoon to drop off my watch which had a dead battery. Figured I'd be in and out with the battery replaced and I'd be on my way. Wrong. Waited nearly 25 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me, and once I got someone helping me, it was pretty clear after I described my problem that she wasn't interested in helping me. She took my watch from me, examined it for all of 13 seconds and told me she would have to send it out for repairs and it would be 5 business days. Sounded good enough, gave her my info and she said someone would call when it was done. The following Wednesday (8 business days after), I called to ask what the deal was. Enjoyed a relaxing 7 minutes on hold, was told the watch maker had been on vacation, but he was back now. I was told they would call me back by the end of the week. Fast forward to the following Thursday. Still no call to me. Called Steve Quick, sat on hold again for about 5 minutes. Was told my watch had been looked at, but no repairs done yet because I hadn't approved the charge. Told the woman I received no phone call telling me it was done, so I could not approve it, however now that we were talking I would go ahead and approve. She was extremely rude and just in general seemed annoyed I was calling, however she told me to call Saturday for an update (maybe Steve Quick can't make outgoing calls, in which case I should retract this entire review since it isn't their fault they can't call. Ha). Called that Saturday at 11am after they opened. Was told to leave my name and number, the service manager wasn't coming in until 12 but she would call me then. 12 comes and goes, I call back at 2 to see what's up. I'm told the service manager is busy, she'll call me back. When I mentioned I had already called and explained my struggle thus far, I was placed on hold again for over 10 minutes. A man picked up, said my watch would be ready in a week and they would call me when they were finished. I asked if he could please have a manager return my call to discuss the issues, he "took down" my information, but my phone still has yet to ring.... The following Friday, I got a call saying my watch was ready (I guess maybe they got their outbound phone problem fixed). I came in the next day, was helped fairly quickly, grabbed my watch and left. In their only defense, my watch works great now, but nothing about this experience was pleasant. I understand my 50 watch repair of a 300 Michael Kors watch means nothing to them and I'm not a valued customer or someone they expect to make a lot of money off of, but they way I was treated was terrible and I hope they provide others with better service. I will absolutely not return, wouldn't recommend them to anyone for any type of jewelry purchase and will have negative feelings about that place every time I walk by (all too often since I live down the street). Steve Quick, please treat all your customers with respect, follow up on your promises and communicate issues to everyone, regardless of the amount of their purchase. In a span of a few hours, we found the perfect wedding bands for him and myself all thanks to the amazing Sarah B. When we started looking, I considered a channel diamond setting as my wedding band. Sarah was extremely patient with me as I couldn't decide what looked best and in our budget for such ring. After being indecisive, we moved onto my fiance's wedding band. He had a few specifics in mind for his. Sarah listened and showed him a case with some examples. He tried on a heavy platinum ring to a lighter palladium ring. Since it was the wedding band trunk show, there were tons of examples for him to try on. While he contemplated a few, Sarah pulled out a band similar to my engagement ring. As she wore my engagement ring and the band together, all of us stared at it and decided it was the one. I went with a simple band matching the shape of my engagement ring. With Sarah's help, we picked out a wedding band that really showcased my diamond as well as compliment the existing band. Lucky for me, my fiance had envisioned me with a similar ring since he proposed. He's surprisingly traditional. After trying on a few different wedding bands, my fiance chose a gorgeous brushed palladium ring with shiny edging. We also increased the size of the ring a bit since it was a little thin for him. He was so happy that he found a wedding band that he liked, is comfortable in, suits his personality, and met his criteria for what he envisioned he wanted. For every question we had, we were assured that Steve Quick jewelers would do anything to make it possible. If we wanted my band brushed, we could. It was great knowing that they could do anything to make the jewelry just right. Since we were there for the trunk show, our wedding bands were on sale and completely within our budget. Sarah worked tirelessly to make sure that we were satisfied with our wedding band purchases. Hands down the staff makes this a great jewelry shop. All of the staff were completely gracious and welcoming We were offered beverages and such upon entering the store. Sarah steam cleaned my engagement ring when I greeted her. They had a table of goodies and other candies about which made ring shopping so relaxing and comfortable. My fiance and I left Steve Quick jewelers so happy that it took one day to find our wedding bands. It seems that many places have their stock jewelry and are hesitant to do any custom work. When I walked into Steve Quick, it was like a breathe of fresh air. I came in, stated my intentions and described the ring I wanted. They never shied away from any of my requests. I had a very specific design in mind, and I knew it would have to be custom because I had a gemstone as my center piece. I gotta give Traci some love here. She worked with me from beginning to end and was so patient with me even as I figured out payment and also steadied my nerves to make the big purchase. I think I viewed over ten different stones during four separate visits. She was super patient and helped to educate me on anything I wanted to know. Her honesty was very apparent and I felt incredibly comfortable throughout the whole process. She was working to give me what I wanted. At no time did I feel like she was trying to 'sell' me something. Once I received the ring, I knew why Steve Quick was so willing to do custom pieces. The work was incredible and looked exactly like I wanted it to. Not only did she know how to expertly explain what she was selling, she set us immediately at ease - which when buying a ring really helps. Especially when you go shopping with your significant other. In general, the folks at Steve Quick are professional, courteous and prompt. Over the course of several visits, we picked out a setting (a particularly stunning semi-bezel from Sholdt - really beautiful) and I went back to look at diamonds with Sarah B. Sarah was patient to a fault as I winnowed down the choices and really found a stunner that (now that the ring has been accepted by its new owner) really fits wonderfully on my fiancee's hand. One of my very good friends was getting married. She had been given a family heirloom diamond necklace from her grandmother and wanted to wear it on her wedding day. Smiling faces and cookies and tea...yes, please! We were helped by the amazing Sarah B. Even though we were not in there to spend a lot of money, we were still given 5 star service. Sarah was very patient in listening to the bride to be's jewelery dilemma and offered several creative suggestions. The entire necklace got a redesign and was promised back in more than enough time to make the wedding. It ended up looking beautiful and I got all the credit for knowing where to go. So, whether it be a complete last minute redesign of a family heirloom, or a more common jewelery need, Steve Quick is worth the trip. I had a single diamond earring (because the other one was lost), that I wanted to get made into a pendant. I was new to the city and didn't really know where to go, but found this place because it was close to where I lived. I picked out a setting and a chain and they did the rest of the work for me. It's my absolute favorite piece of jewelry and I wear it everyday. The clasp is solid and I never have to worry about it falling off. I just really like the way it looks. Oh and the diamond wasn't that big, but in the setting it looks like a nice sized diamond. They were very friendly and helpful when I was trying to pick everything out. I wanted to like you, Steve Quick. I really did. Your jewelry has caught my eye for years now as I walk up and down Clark street. You are cute and tidy, in a great location, allow dogs, and have those pretty cookies on hand. More importantly, you are one of my neighbors. Until this year, I never had the need or occasion to purchase anything from you. But when I did begin to ring shop for both wedding bands for me and my man, you were one of my first choices. I visited you on four or five occasions, on my way home from work and while out walking; with my fiancee and alone. And on all occasions, I left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed. You have to be buzzed in to the front door of Steve Quick. I know that stores sometimes miss greeting all of their guests, but it is not even possible here. Yet, only on one occasion was I even acknowledged with a hello, even though I had been buzzed in only seconds prior. When I did need help, I had to step over to the salesperson and ask them to show me certain items. I would understand this if they were assisting other customers, but they were not. On one visit in, I walked around the entire store twice, and was still not greeted. That day, I left without a hello or a goodbye. Allowing me to try things on seemed to be an inconvenience for the staff, even though I was serious about buying. They did pay more attention to me on the times when my fiance was there, which seems old-fashioned and odd. The reason I went back on more than one occasion is that my fiancee and I both saw pieces that we were interested in. From my experience, Steve Quick's products greatly overshadow its service. Their prices seem okay (I'm no gemologist) but slightly overpriced compared to other locations. While shopping for an estate engagement ring, I checked in with Steve Quick. Dana, the sales associate, was fabulous both over the phone and email. She put together a whole catalog of pieces in styles she thought I would like, and she included a variety of price points. The sales associates in the store were very friendly to me when I stopped by as well, being sure to answer all of my questions and show me a plethora of pieces. 5 stars for service and selection, 4 stars for pricing- I found the prices a bit high compared to other stores I've researched. I have so many amazing things to say about Steve Quick Jewelers! Steve and Sarah are like family to us. My wife and I did alot of research and spent a ton of time planning our wedding. Then we decided to have our wedding first and get our fancy rings later. I come from a different culture that doesn't do the diamonds and my wife wanted a traditional band from our culture, which I got her for the engagement and wedding. About 6 months after our wedding, we decided to start shopping for our fancy american bands because we had an amazing wedding, had plenty of money in the bank and we deserved to celebrate with some great new pieces. We happened to be in the area and decided to stop by because my wife seen a ring in the window that she wanted to see in person. Sarah B greeted us right away and was very nice to us. We asked her about a piece and she spent alot of time with us. She learned some info about our wedding and she was excited to help us. She spent about an hour with us giving us an idea of what we can expect and what to look for and she gave us very good insight and tips. She then told us that they had a wedding show coming up and we could get great items at a lower rate. To me this was amazing. She never pressured us or rushed us or anything and she made us feel very comfortable. Plus, she could have pushed a sale that day but decided to help us out and recommend waiting a few weeks until the show. She took our info down, sent us an invitation and followed-up with courtesy reminders just before the show. We walked in tot he show, not planning on actually buying anything and we walked out with four custom rings, a brand new 2 CT radiant cut diamond, numerous other diamonds and a brand new watch. I am one of those people that are skeptical of jewelers, mechanics, plumbers etc... so for me to actually buy this much shows you how much I trust Sarah and Steve. Sarah spent hours with us and gave us her undivided attention. She taught us so much and we had walked in there thinking we knew a lot but learned we had been fooled by a few of the gimmicky concepts and myths about diamonds and jewelry. Sarah is definitely an expert with what she does and she loves her job! Steve and I even have the same taste in watches! We ended up designing a custom band for my wife that has around 6 different rings that are put together into one. It holds the big diamond in the middle and then each ring has diamonds on it. It is a total of 90 mini diamonds i believe. Sarah helped us pick the perfect diamond too. We were very hard to please until we walked into Steve Quick's. She had the perfect diamond and helped us save a ton of money with her suggestions. Here is an example.... we went with white gold because I originally wanted platinum but Sarah mentioned that platinum would be hard to take off if I were ever in an accident and needed to remove it. Something I would have never thought of until the time came! Our custom rings all came out perfect! Sarah also helped us design two custom bands to compliment the original traditional band that we used to get married with. She even sent us regular updates to our custom orders and sent us pictures of them along the way. Her customer service was absolutely amazing. They also help us to maintain our jewelry and keep it clean and polished and looking amazing. Not a day goes by that we don't get compliments on it. I stopped by to drop our rings off for a cleaning and I immediately received a twitter alert that they had tweeted about us stopping by and how much fun we had during our stop. Little things like that go a long way. I can honestly say I will never ever buy a piece of jewelry anywhere else. No matter what it is they either have it or can get it or make it for you. My fiance and I recently got engaged. For years I had seen Steve Quick's from the window of the #36 bus. I was always so taken with the sparkles in the window. As my boyfriend (at the time) and I were considering how to move forward, I knew that I had to go to SQ first. I met with Kalena, one of their fantastic Sales Assistants, and off we went. She was truly remarkable...absolutely the best customer service. She worked with us trying ring after ring after ring. She even tracked down a sample ring that was no longer made and got the company to send to us on loan for much longer than normal! After all of that, we decided to design our own rings based on a merging of all the things we had seen. Kalena walked us thru every step. I honestly felt like she really understood our taste, our ideas, and certainly our budget. After we got the first wax, she knew due to some of my specs that it wasnt exactly right. So, she sent it back...the wax was redone and it was PERFECT!!! The stone, the smaller diamonds, the setting...all of it is really exquisite. I got exactly what I wanted and felt secure during the process. Not to mention they have two adorable dogs that hang out in the shop...how cool is that?!? Everyone at SQ has been great. I had to get my antique engagement ring sized and brought it to Steve Quick. Overall, it was a really great experience because of the helpful staff, including the owners who are often at the store. After I got my ring home I noticed that one of the diamonds seemed darker than the others. I waited a couple of weeks before bringing it back to Steve Quick; in that time I began to feel like a smaller sized ring would be more secure. I wanted to design a necklace to honor the memory of my parents, who have both left this earth for greener pastures in the last few years. I didn't just want a random necklace - I wanted it to be special and symbolize how I'll remember my parents. Something simple enough to wear every day but tasteful enough to wear on special occasions that I would have wanted my parents to be there for. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted for - no joke - about 2 years, but I kept putting it off because I (oh so wrongly) assumed that custom jewelry design was going to take forever and basically be a pain in my ass. I could not have been more wrong. I finally went into Steve Quick and met with Sarah B, and after describing what I had in mind and even drawing it (and being certain I wasn't articulating myself clearly at all), Sarah knew exactly what I meant. The whole design process took less than an hour. Yes, you read that right. I put it off for two years and it took LESS THAN AN HOUR. Clearly, I was the only one holding up this process. Sarah B is a genius and pretty much read my mind and guided me in the right direction through design, diamonds, chains, etc. And the price was not even remotely close to heart attack inducing, which just goes to show that custom work is affordable for everyone. The entire process was so easy, and in the end I have a necklace that I adore and that I have gotten a million compliments on. I now wear this necklace every day, and it keeps the memory of my parents quite literally close to my heart, which is something that you can't put a price on.
