Grabbed a plain jane large pizza from La Piccola on Morris Ave. Wanted to try something different and have heard good things about this place from other members. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised. I feel that a large plain pie is the standard by which you can judge a local pizza place and we were not disappointed. The sauce had just the right saltiness and the cheese did not spill off the slice while eating. There was also minimal to no drip of oil coming off the crust. The crust itself had good flavor (nice touch of garlic overall) and just a little thicker than what I am accustomed to but still good to eat alone. Worst chicken Marsala ever !! from La Picolla,burnt chicken, mushrooms, & sauce; hard macaroni. Horribly bitter!Didn't offer to remake or reimburse!Mngt & Chef SUCK! We should of known better than to order from them again ... the week before we had ordered a sausage Stromboli and a ham & ricotta calzone. You can sum it up to empty and burnt as well. The lack of sausage and ham & ricotta ...made it very clear that they had changed owners. The semi burnt food, we thought was a freaky accident, unfortunately proved to be their new standard of cooking. The burnt, horribly bitter & disgusting chicken Marsala the following week... just closed the deal for my hubby & Me. They've lost loyal customers forever and we use to eat from there about 6 to 7 times a week. The old Picolla was a place we use to recommend .... Disgraceful. . . I oreded from here religiously. I stopped going out to eat and ordering out as well. I recently placed an order for a small get together for friends; soup, mozzarella sticks, and white pizza and tirimisu(which they did not have the day of). In the past I felt La Picola superseded all. This past experience, was a complete disaster . I spoke with the owner who took my order over the phone. He proceeded to tell me they had "white pizza", my go to ( we love cheese)". Arrived were. Regular plain slices with extra cheese. I called upon my delivery to speak with the owner.. owner , who took my order. I support local businesses, but appalled find out there iz ownership at La Strata,Millburn. When I called back,the owner told me I received what I ordered. My question: how so??? A refund was not offered nor compensation. . . Complete disgrace other than the fella who delivers your food and when available son takes your ordrr. He is on my point. 11 months ago I took a break and now with the new guy answering the phone I'm done! Order here all the time, they NEVER get the salad dressing correct. Ok, no big deal. Today they don't even put any in the bag. I call and inform them of no dressing. An hour later I call back since still no dressing and the new guy they have answering the phone tells me, he checked the CAMERA and it was put in the bag. Seriously? You checked the camera and you KNOW which order was mine? Am I really calling to get MORE dressing out of you? 2 salads, 2 people, no dressing! Never ordering again from here. I eat here for lunch pretty often and it never disappoints. Their chicken cutlet is great and the guys are very nice. One time they delivered the wrong special and when I called to tell them, they sent me the right order in a couple of minutes with no problem! Definitely recommend this place. read more

First and for most I have been ordering from La Piccola Pizza & Deli for almost 10 years, and for the most part I thought the owner & son were nice people until yesterday 9/27/2017. I purchased a pasta salad for $8.95 the salad comes with 4 shrimp, I ask for additional shrimp which was 4 pcs for $4.00 additional per his son which should have brought my total to $12.95 with 7% taxes @ $13.85 + $1.00 for delivery charge total $14.85. This is my situation, I place the order and was told the total cost was $15.00, I then put my co-worker on the phone to place her order and he told her to inform me that he forgot to add the taxes, therefore my NEW total was $16.95, then the delivery guy comes with my food and the receipt is for $19.15, I then proceeded to call the establishment and get an explanation of my bill, didn't get anywhere so I purchase the food, I did not want to send it back because I knew I would most likely order from them again and did not want any future orders to be tampered with. I also gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was a error in calculation, so I when there after work with the un-eaten food and ask them to explain how this pasta meal cost me almost $20.00, First I was told to get my food and leave his establishment, I asked why are you talking to your customer like that, I then pull their menu from their counter and was told this menu was old and the meal was was actually $10.00 so with that being said the meal @ $10.00 + $4.00 for ext shrimp $0.90 taxes $1.00 delivery should be $15.90, that still doesn't explain $19.15. Oh, by the way my co-work ordered a small salad with chicken went from $5.50 to almost $8.00 they also charge her a delivery and we sit right next to each other. Also while there a customer call in to complaint about her receipt for a ginger-ale that was $1.75, the owner told her the cost was increase to $2.50. There was also a gentleman that came in and purchase his food and then proceeded to purchase a soda, the owner charge him $1.80 and gave him a MENU from the counter, NOTE that's the same menu he told me was an old menu. I said I thought you said this menu was old, why would you give it to another customer, I then proceeded to tell him that he was cheating his customers. He could not explain my $19.15 receipt and told me to get my food and leave his establishment again, I asked for my change back and he said that's not happening. So I then told him it's not about the money it's the principal, you are cheating your customers. I told him I will leave and take my food I paid $20.00 for and will enjoy it because he put so type of GOLD in it BUT this is the last $20.00 you will STEAL from me and I will NEVER step food in your establishment again. PEOPLE PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE COST OF YOUR FOOD, IF NOT, YOU WILL CONTINUE TO ALLOW THE OWNER, HIS SON AND ANYONE ELSE WHO TAKES YOUR ORDER TO STEAL YOUR MONEY. PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
