Their employees don't wear face masks?
    Mike W.

I've been in the fence of how to rate this restaurant for quite some time. It's kinda my #2 pizza place in town where I will go if my normal place at the other end of the block is closed. On the plus side, they have generous portions, the food is generally well prepared (I recommend the baked ziti and a side of sausage), and they're pretty quick. All things that I would expect from a good pizza shop. However, on the downside, the place doesn't look clean to me- I can't speak to whether it actually is or not; but just looking at it, I didn't get a huge sense of cleanliness. The decor is old and tired, not sure I would ever stay here and eat my food, it's more of a to go place. Probably the biggest downside is how this store's employees never seem to wear face masks. I've probably been here a half dozen times since Covid started and there's always at least some of the employees working in the counter and food prep area without a mask. Normally this would be a solid 3 for me, but gonna go with 4 for now since I know all restaurants are struggling.

    two different pizzas

Been coming here for the past 16+ yrs (since I moved to the area) and this is my go to pizzeria locally. I am from a town 30 mins away that is totally Italian and a pizzeria on almost every other block (lol). My friends and places I dj at weekly, in that area are always asking me to bring pizza with me. Doesn't look like much, however those are the places that make the best food. Plus the prices are extremely reasonable in comparison to other pizzeria's in the area. Not everyone is gonna like everywhere, however ya gotta stop in and give it a try!!!

Foul! A dispenser but no towels. Guess what's in your food people? Oh ya, let me just walk up front w wet hands- BS!
    R. E.

My review is based on how dirty their facilities are and the lack of appropriate necessities to keep their employees AND customers hands clean. (Please SEE PHOTOS) I just imagine that none of their staff washes since they have to make a dash with wet hands to grab paper towels elsewhere, outside of the restroom! Makes me wonder, what else is in their food? I only ordered a slice of pizza, which after handling my money, the attendant proceeded to bag the slice with his thumb on the crust. An unpleasant experience with a lack of common friendliness. Yah, I ate the pizza, (sans the crust) I paid for it! I honestly can't comment on any other food items since all I had was a plain slice. But I won't be back to tempt fate. Maybe they should change their name to 'Crusty's Pizza'

Bread was stale, onions and peppers were burnt. Calamari was dry and tasteless. Thought to give it a try after years. What a mistake.

Really extensive menu with very reasonable prices for the quality and quantity of food. The spicy calamari is a must try and every entree and pasta are worth trying, too. Met one of the owners (two brothers) and this is a family run business with a benefit to the community. I will definitely come back on the next visit to Newark and would highly recommend if you're in the area (especially if you are staying at Newark airport overnight!)

For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

And surprisingly, this happened to be a very well known restaurant as our other coworkers knew about it! It's located across of CubaNu Restaurant & Lounge on the corner of Lewis St and Main St in downtown Rahway. There's paid street parking and parking garages around the area. My coworker and I shared their Calamari Al Forno, tossed with Italian sausage, hot cherry pepper, and balsamic glaze. And wow. Who would have thought balsamic glaze with calamari would be sooooo good! I'll definitely be ordering that combination again. The mix with the Italian sausage and cherry peppers added a nice kick to the dish. Both of us could not stop eating it even though we wanted to save room for our pastas. Our meal was off to a great start! I ordered their Linguini de Mar which was supposed to have four seafoods: shrimp, calamari, mussels, and clams. Unfortunately, mine was missing the calamari. However, the pasta was incredibly flavorful and the seafood was cooked perfectly - not overdone or underdone at all. YUM! My coworker got their Cheese Ravioli with the Bolognese sauce (unsure if it was extra as I didn't see the check). She loved her pasta as well! She's usually a light eater, but she devoured half the calamari appetizer and all of her pasta, which speaks volumes about how much she enjoyed the meal. I felt that the one downside was the unusual amount of water I drank (maybe ten cups?). This was my own personal indicator that there was definitely some sort of flavor enhancer which wasn't a negative thing. I'm not certain, but the food was very good, so kudos to them if that's the case. Overall, definitely a hidden gem! We unfortunately didn't try their pizzas/pies but this will definitely be on my list again the next time I visit. Or I may opt in for another round of calamari al forno and pasta again, haha!

This restaurant was pretty good. If you dine in make sure to have plenty of time because the service slow. Their pizza is wood fire and so was the cheese bread which was delicious. The calamari was good and I know places that have messed up calamari (this was not one of them). I enjoyed my plain individual pie and the crust in my opinion made the pizza. The lasagna was tasty as well and I think the sauce made the dish. The brussel sprouts were crispy and the added bacon added a nice flavor to it. I only wish that the dish had more whole sprouts. Great experience overall.

Let's start with the only real challenge of the night: parking. Between regular White Plains parking adventures and the winter snow situation, it took a little patience. But once we got inside, the night immediately got better. The vibe is college-bar casual, but without the trashiness that sometimes comes with that territory. It's lively but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy a conversation. One thing I loved right away, there are games by the front entrance that you can grab and bring to your table. Drinks + games = instant girls' night upgrade. We were seated in the center near the kitchen, which actually gave us a great view of the whole place. Our drinks were really good, though if the bartender's hand had slipped just a tiny bit more on the pour, I wouldn't have complained. Still solid, still enjoyable. Now the food. Holy moly. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. And the portions? I'm not sure if they thought we were feeding an entire soccer team, but honestly... I support the ambition. I don't think I've ever seen mozzarella sticks that size before. I love leftovers and this place clearly believes in sending you home with some. Another thing I appreciated was seeing a whole section of vegan options on the menu. I didn't try them this time, but I love when a restaurant makes it easy for different diets to find something without turning ordering into a complicated group project. Between the fun atmosphere, great food, and generous portions, this was a great first experience. Next time I come back, I'll just plan ahead for parking... and maybe bring an even bigger appetite.
