My Manolete's burrito was very good. The queso on top with the shrimp was a nice touch and a decent price. The queso dip was average and came in a tiny bowl. Chips were also average. They have a guacamole and a salsa they make table side so there are no complimentary chips and salsa. My wife's soda was flat and they replaced it but it was still off. She had the carnitas platter and it was good but needed to be crispier and I can name a few local places that put it to shame. Overall it's a nice place downtown on the plaza but not as good as many local places. I'll go back just to try the salsa and guacamole. Service was good. Loud environment inside. In Winchester for a meeting and decided to stop by Manolete's Cocina Gourmet in the walking mall. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it very nice in here! The decor and overall vibe were 10/10! Guacamole to me is standard and how I judge any Spanish place. It was flavorful, a nice little kick and the texture was also great. I got a brunch burrito, which was a burrito stuffed with chorizo, potatoes, eggs, jalapeños and topped with queso fondido and pico. This was the perfect meal for today since it's so cold out, and it felt like I was right at home! (Plus chorizo is good in anything) I'll def go for the tacos next time, and the tomahawk looks enticing The portion sizes were great for the price, I spent about $20 total but I have plenty of leftovers. We went to this restaurant late on a Thursday one week, and then two weeks later late on a Friday when we were in Winchester for events at Shenandoah. We had a choice of indoor and outdoor, so we chose indoor seating. We love this place. The decor is lovely and service is great, but the best part is delicious food. We ordered table-side guacamole, and we were delighted with the result. Each of us got burritos, and each was delicious. While on vacation in New Market we took a side trip to Winchester and lunch time rolled around. There are many choices in town and the decision might have been hard BUT when we walked past the alfresco diners the decision was obvious. This place looked amazing. We had the Manolete burrito and the Mahi Mahi burrito and they were both delicious and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and attentive. Only wish I lived in the area. We went here on the spur of the moment and I'm so glad we did. The staff was friendly, helpful and very professional. The ambiance was very elegant with the tiled floors and the artwork showcased in recessed displays in the walls. The food was delicious. We opted for the pineapple chicken, the sweetness of the pineapples combined with the creaminess of the cheese and the savory of the chicken -chef's kiss perfection. Salad options are better than most with choices of greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and corn. All fresh and crispy. Pico very good. Salsa was warm and different. Service was terrible, waited over an hour and half for the food. I know this is not the waitress fault and I know it's New Year's Eve but I didn't expect it to be this long of a wait. Great environment but if experience with service is bad the environment goes out the window. Came in with my wife and three kids and you would think the kids food would have came out first. Within the 1.5 hours of wait the only thing we had was the chips and salsa and the salsa had no flavor. I am not going to comment on the main entree because we still haven't received it yet. Don't even feel like eating at this point. For a new place that just opened you would think they would want the first impression to be great because it means everything. Extremely friendly staff, bartender customised a drink for my wife and made exactly what she was hoping for.
