In 2023, our home needed a sprawling exterior repair/renovation, and most everything needed to tie into & fit together with the existing. There was a lot of detailing, and most every building system (such as site work, concrete, framing, windows/doors, siding) was identified in the scope of work. Business owner and manager, Cherif Guerguis, is focused on professional customer service. Communication was great - always knew what to expect - no surprises. MB has the capacity and ability to meet the customer where they are at. Cherif's aim is to get the job - to benefit the business obviously - but he enjoys delivering a package that pleases the customer. Most days Cherif came to the job site, and every day he calls. The crew is considerate, congenial, and get the big picture really well. Most of all MB is a team offering a wide range of services, skill sets, talents such as rough carpentry, weatherproofing, concrete & masonry, drywall, finish carpentry, and systems. They are efficient and willing to do the tough work that comes with the job. Due to the commute, MB often worked 4,10 hour days, each week, which was a relief and allowed us to catch up with them over weekend. I give MB 5 stars for always keeping this job on-track even when having to adjust to labor shortages, complexities, and delayed deliveries. MB was good at working through the punch list at the end of the job - making sure we were satisfied. It helped for us to pitch-in at times with clean up and putting in final touches. This review is long overdue, but better late than never, right? We hired Manoli Builders to remodel our kitchen (among other projects) and are so happy with the results. It wasn't easy living without a kitchen for a couple of weeks as it was an older kitchen and required a complete gut job, but the end result was definitely worth it! The main workers were Joe and DJ, and they were hard working, friendly and respectful (especially to my mom). Elmar, the manager, listened to our concerns regarding my elderly mom and customized the island to be lower than usual as I didn't want my mom sitting on a high bar stool during meal times. They also lowered the height of the microwave above the stove so that my mom could reach it easily. There is a lot more storage and counter space compared to the old kitchen. Joe even matched the textured ceiling in the living room and kitchen which needed repairing. Elmar was always available to address any concerns or questions. I actually find myself spending more time in the kitchen and cooking more. If you're in need of a contractor, you should definitely give Manoli Builders a call. read more

Awful is all I can say! Because of their lack of safety measures, my dad is now bedridden. While doing a kitchen renovation...they moved the stove away from the wall and left the stove in the middle of the dining room for weeks. My dad finally got so frustrated and wanted to move it to the side because it was in the middle of everything. While trying to move it, he fell and fractured both hips. This 5 star review is a long time coming, but Manoli builders did a great job with my bathroom remodel and they deserve it. Cherif Gurguis is younger than most contractors you'll call, but for that i feel he tries harder to build a good name for his business. My husband and i met with two other contractors before Manoli, and their quotes came in about $5000 over Manoli's. Cherif was there for the start and end of the project and was quick to respond to any questions or concerns via text. When you're having work done to the interior of your house, you want to be comfortable with the workers trudging in and out. Joe and Julian were great! Really nice, easy going guys, yet professional. We actually kind of missed them when the job was done. Joe was the main guy and he is an artist when it comes to tiling the shower. We didnt have a specific design in mind, and just wanted a line of accent tiles along the shower wall. But Joe went beyond our expectations. See the pic. I think the negative reviews were unfortunate miscommunications. And if you do have a bad experience with the company, im sure Cherif would appreciate the feedback and try to improve the situation. I live in a condo in Salt Lake and recently hired Manoli Builders to replace my tub/shower combo and the toilets/flooring in both my master and guest bathrooms. I emailed Cherif, the owner of the company, for info and he came over the very next day to do a walk-thru and estimate. I have previously hired two other contractors to update my kitchen (not quite a good experience with only so-so results), but after talking with Cherif, it was reassuring that this bathroom renovation would go smoother with way better results. The estimate was at the top of my budget, but I got almost exactly what I wanted. (It's an *almost* because I wanted recessed shelving in the shower, but the wall studs were too shallow.) The biggest concern that I had was the non-standard/weird toilets in both my bathrooms. They are called rear outlet toilets (drains into the wall vice the floor) and are not normally stocked at The Home Depot or Lowe's. My neighbors have had issues with replacing their toilets (first even trying to find these toilets in stock and then only to have them leak and ruin the floor) but this never even became an issue because Cherif found two rear outlet toilets (MADE IN USA), in stock and ready for pickup within the first week! The renovation started about 3 weeks later to follow my building's water shut down schedule. Thomas and Danny, the guys who did the bulk of the labor, were so nice and very considerate of my home, which I really appreciated since I still was living there while the renovation was going on. They always swept/cleaned up/took out the trash at the end of day, were respectful of the house rules (meaning they did not upset my Resident Manager), and were extremely patient when I had MULTIPLE issues with my flooring and tiles. (The flooring that I ordered 3 weeks prior did not come in and the company gave Thomas the wrong tiles, etc.) What also made it more difficult for them was that my building (with little notice) scheduled the re-paving of the parking lot the week the renovation started so there was NO parking! This did cause the renovation to take a few days longer than planned, but the guys tried to do as much as they could each day. Bottom line...I am extremely happy with the renovation, and I highly recommend Cherif of Manoli Builders! And if you do have any issues during the renovation, just remember that you can be brutally honest with Cherif. He will have the issue corrected immediately and after you have calmed down, he will just make fun of your craziness. ;-) read more

We are very happy we chose Manoli Builders. Cherif and Kai were very patient with us while waiting for our decision of which construction company to go with. When we finally made up our minds to do business with them, no time was spared, and Manoli was able to start on the job right away. We appreciate how honest Cherif was when we were making our different selections of products to use. He told us why he would/wouldn't do/use certain things. I always liked that I got an explanation for it. When I had questions regarding different things, Cherif always got back to me right away. For example, I would send him an email late at night because it was too late to call him, and instead of waiting until the next business day, my phone would ring 10 minutes after I hit the send button. It was Cherif always wanting to solve any problems or concerns. Mahalo Cherif! As a Realtors, my boyfriend and I meet a lot of Contractors and have seen a TON of BAD renovation jobs where the contractors cut a lot corners. Whenever we refer anyone to a client, we want to be sure they will do an excellent job bc it's OUR reputation on the line as well. Our first experience (aside from looking at pictures of their work) with Cherif and his wonderful crew of workers was on our own home; because we had to test them out before referring them to clients. They built us a beautiful covered area in our yard with floating benches. They worked so quickly we were very organized. They finished the full job in less than a week which is a reflection of their hard work and efficiency. Now our dogs have a GREAT shaded place to hangout during the day and we have a WONDERFUL area to entertain guests! We have been referring our clients to them ever since and I've been secretly making a list of a few more things I want to upgrade in our home as well! ;) Cherif is great with returning calls and is very personable so it's easy to ask questions without feeling silly (even if you've asked it five times before). Cherif, Travis, Kai and the rest of the team at Manoli are top notch. They handled a kitchen/living room remodel for me a few months back which included new quartz countertops and tons of cabinetry. From the beginning, Cherif took the time to hear about what we wanted and how much we could afford. This was vastly different from many of the other contractors we interviewed. From there, he put together a timeline based on our schedule. MOST IMPORTANTLY, the Manoli team delivered both on time and on budget. Everything fit nicely and when they were done, they took the time to clean up their jobsite. They even went out of their way on two occasions to pickup replacement components from the cabinet makers. Crew was able to complete the job on time and slightly ahead of schedule. Cherif was very engaged and did a great job of keeping me posted on the progress of work. We purchased a good sized condo with a great view. The only issue was that the kitchen and 2 baths were dated and needed to be remodeled. The kitchen would have to be demolished and redone from the floor up. The 2 baths had designer wall tile that we wanted to keep and incorporate with new tile, floors, fixtures and lighting so we knew the project would be a challenge. In addition, we would be living at our residence throughout the construction so picking the right firm was paramount. We selected 3 contractors based on Yelp and other internet reviews and obtained estimates from all three. The quotes came in close to each other. I then interviewed each contractor. We chose Manoli Builders. I felt more comfortable with their ability to do the job right, on time and on budget. We could not be more pleased with the way things turned out. Monika, the Project Engineer was very helpful in assisting us with the design we were looking for as well as selecting the materials and fixtures needed. Two highly skilled tradesmen, Miguel and Jimmy were assigned to this project. Over the years I have had multiple homes remodeled. I know how things are supposed to work. It didn't take me long to know that we had made the right decision. Miguel and Jimmy did an awesome job. Their workmanship was high quality. They were always professional and friendly. They would check with me often to insure that every detail was handled according to our specifications. The owner, Cherif would call or stop by every few days. He wanted to make sure that my wife and I were happy with the progress and results along the way. Cherif was very responsive. Anytime I called I was able to reach him or would get a call back within an hour. We were so pleased with their work that before they were done with the kitchen, 2 bathrooms and some additional projects (had a wall installed with a built in buffet and large mirror) we hired them to remove wallpaper and then paint 1600 square feet of wall space. Based on all the great yelp reviews, we called and made an appointment to get a quote on adding a bathroom to a large room in our house The first person who came out spent less than 10 minutes at our house and wasn't interested in hearing what we wanted to do with the remodeling or answering questions on how the process would work. A few days later, Manoli called and told us he no longer worked there. That was kind of disappointing since we had to take a day off from work. Ok, we make another appointment and I took another day off from work, and another man came by. He spent less than 15 minutes, took a picture and measured one closet and left. He acted offended when we asked basic questions such as where the bathroom could potentially be added structurally, etc. It's been months and we have yet to hear back from Manoli or get a quote. read more

On the recommendation of a friend, we went with Manoli Builders to build a deck into our backyard, to convert an unusable space into a BBQ/entertainment area. From the get-go, Cherif was helpful in suggesting ideas for the project, while making sure that the concept was what we had in mind. He was always easy to reach, friendly, and honest about projected costs. Joe was the lead builder on this project, and we were extremely impressed by his work ethic and attention to detail. He said he was a 3rd generation carpenter and takes a lot of pride in his work, and it definitely showed. His work was rock-solid, everything always plumb and level, and wood cuts always right the first time. Great craftsmanship. We get compliments on this deck whenever someone comes over and sees it for the first time. Now I just need to work less so I can get out on it and BBQ more often. This update is in response to the company's response to my review. Quite different from their response, I left a voicemail each and every time I called. And, what's more is that the response couldn't be more out of touch with my actual estimate. The response to my review from Cheriff alleged that our job was a "major overhaul" including removal of popcorn ceiling, load bearing walls, new doors and windows, etc. (see response for more). Our job, however, was solely for a small 40sqft kitchen, that's it. And if his description of our job was accurate, I highly doubt we could have had it done by another contractor for just under $9,000. read more

I needed a general contractor to replace a structural ceiling beam and shore up foundation posts under my house on short-notice. I contacted Manoli Builders to ask for a proposal. They sent out their estimator, who did a careful review of the project. He followed through with a phone call. I deferred a decision. The owner of the company then called me to ask if I had questions or needed more information. I decided to go with them and am pleased that I did. The company sent two carpenters on a weekend, who worked quickly, efficiently and with professionalism. There were no surprises and they showed a diligent can-do attitude throughout.
