There is also a nice paved trail that runs not only through the park, but through neighboring areas as well. There is a lot of green space that surrounds the property. There are about 19 parking spaces and 2 handicap spots. There are no grills installed here, and as a result, according to the rules, you may not bring your own grill either. So if you're coming here for a picnic, make sure nothing needs to be cooked on site. The photos included here tell the rest.

At the entrance of the park there is a volunteer library and a small community center. The park boasts of these amenities, public bathrooms, on site grills, covered picnic area, a Playscape for young children and two basketball courts. There is also a sandy volleyball court but you'll have to bring your own net. This park sits directly next to some railroad tracks which are still in use. The parking lot to the park itself can hold about 20 cars and the community center holds about 20 as well. So if you're looking for a nice out-of-the-way quiet family park for a picnic, this would be a great option. The pictures below will give you a good idea of what to expect.

Apparently, there is a farmers market that takes place here at 4 PM every Wednesday This park is a really nice neighborhood asset, and is available to the general public, not under the control of an HOA. There is a nice paved sidewalk and some green space behind the Playscape. At the back corner is a small concrete pad with an additional grill. The local residents are indeed fortunate to have this well designed, well cared for space in their community.

The main building features a small gym and allows access to a medium size pool. You cannot access either of these amenities without a key card which only Harris branch residents receive. Other amenities on the property include a basketball court, two tennis courts and some covered picnic areas. Next to the pool area is a well designed kids play scape set up. However, there is no walking trail at this location. It's basically just a good park for Harris branch residents to bring their kids to play.

Well, I'm going to buck the trend and give an online "high five" to the TX State Board of Public Accountancy for being a progressive little agency, deep in the heart of Texas. The TSBPA licenses all Texas CPAs and here's why they are pretty special: - Calling their office, you usually can get a hold of a live person quickly and who can answer your question with confidence. - Online system allows us to report our annual CPE (continuing professional education) hours. On average, we have to do 40 hours a year to maintain our license. - Credit card payment means instant payment of yearly $240 license fee. - Updates to our license file (address and phone changes) are easily done on the interweb. - Renewals are usually processed on the next business day after payment of fees. License card is usually received in a week or less. - Actually works to lower their fees from time-to-time. When was the last time you had a government bureau send you a refund for a reduced fee after the fact? (Yup, leave it to the accountants.) I know it takes a real nerd - and an accounting nerd to boot - to wax poetic about the occupation's regulatory body. But, here I am in all of my nerd glory. The only thing worse would be if I were to read to you from the "Journal of Accountancy".* * This is a real legitimate professional publication. I'll freely admit that some of its articles are way too wonky for me. But, it makes for good reading in bed. Puts you right to sleep.

The best place to park is across from Round Rock Donuts.

Cambridge Estates Linear Park

The best point of access to this park is on Oxford Drive just off of Immanuel Road in the Cambridge Estates subdivision. You'll have to park along the side of the street and you'll know you have arrived when you see Dessau Rd., in the distance. There are two other entry points, but this is the easiest one to find. It is basically a nice walking trail for the local residents to walk their dog along. The entire trail is probably less than a quarter of a mile long and it runs perpendicular to Dessau Rd about 1000 ft away. At the center of this trail, you will find a children's playscape, and a wooden gaga ball court. This park is a nice asset to the residents of this subdivision. Off to the side is a play area with some swings and even a share a book kiosk. At the center of a park is a paved sidewalk flanked by four benches with bushes and crêpe myrtles at the center. Otherwise, the property consists entirely of open green space and cedar trees. It's basically just a nice open space that enhances the neighborhood's overall value.

The park is open to all the local residents of Cedar Park, however, the tennis courts do require a special card for access. The main building has both public restrooms and a public meeting room. The covered picnic area is fitted with electrical outlets. Along with plenty of picnic tables, there are several grills which you can use. This park does have a small parking lot of about 10 spaces. This is a well thought out spacious family friendly park worthy of spending a couple hours at.
