Starter receipt: You told me you would provide a receipt for the starter you purchased and installed. I have never received it, not in person, by text, or by email, despite requesting it several times. 2. Claimed oil leak: You told me the original starter failed because of an oil leak and said you would send me an estimate for repairing that leak. I never received the estimate, and I have since had the vehicle checked and was told that the claimed oil leak did not exist, nor was the cause of the starter failure. 3. Final price: The price I was originally given was $515, but I was ultimately charged $624, an increase of $109. I have not received an explanation or documentation accounting for that increase. Preferably, we can resolve this directly. Please provide the starter receipt, an explanation for the additional $109 charge, and a refund of any amount that cannot be accounted for. If the $109 difference is refunded and the documentation is provided, I will gladly update this review to reflect that the matter was resolved. I have attempted to address these issues directly before posting here and would still welcome the opportunity to resolve them.

I'm also a huge fan of their Tire Certificate program & have tapped into those benefits many, many times over the years. I've never felt dismissed or pressured by anyone in their shop regarding my purchases, or desire not to purchase something. My latest visit (7/13/26) was for a Tire Inspection, Wiper Blade purchase/installation, & a 4 Wheel Alignment after I'd had a mobile mechanic do some Suspension & Brake work for me. On the phone Carlos gave me a general estimate of up to 90 minutes to complete the Alignment. When I arrived Monday morning, I opted to shop in the Manor Crossing shopping center while the shop worked on my car. I'd barely begun window shopping when they notified me they had completed the work! The car was done, & I was on my way in less than an hour. As always, Discount Tire came through. The price was EXACTLY what I'd been quoted, & the Alignment print out was provided without me having to ask for it. I am beyond thrilled to have Discount Tire with 10 minutes of home, and within a shopping center that provides plenty of distraction while waiting on them to complete the requested repairs to my Car. I highly recommend you give your business to Discount Tire if you need Tires, Alignment, Balancing, Rotation, Air, or Wiper Blade installation services.

I think I've been to every Discount Tire in Austin and was thrilled that there was one close-ish to me. It looks very new and has a dedicated lane for tire pressure. The gentleman who helped me was very friendly and courteous even though he had a line of cars. (They won't tell you but I'd recommend tipping them a few dollars for their service). I'm not looking forward to my future tire pressure light inevitably turning on. But I know where to go to get it fixed!

Took it to the shop, they said 3-4 days for diagnostics, etc. My partner called on day 3 and asked how the work was coming along and they hadn't even TOUCHED my vehicle. He called back the next day and asked the same thing - AT WHICH POINT THEY HUNG UP ON HIM. The best part of this whole thing is another staff member called back an hour after they hung up on him and said they had been working on it for three days, that they popped all the fuses and did everything they could for my car, etc. Now my car will die within a day of not driving it. So, if you ACTUALLY want your car fixed, go somewhere else. Pretty sure a mentally deficient chimp could've done a better job. Thanks.

During that time, I and a representative from Caliber Collision had to hunt down parts ourselves. That is NOT the customer's job. It is literally what this shop is paid to do. Their failure to handle basic responsibilities is unacceptable. After dragging their feet for months, they finally installed the parts--only to then "discover" that my truck had frame damage because they couldn't align it. That should have been caught at the very beginning. Any competent shop would have identified that during the initial inspection. The fact that they missed something that serious shows pure negligence and lack of professionalism. Because of their incompetence, my truck is now totaled. Two months wasted. Countless phone calls. Stress. No accountability. No urgency. No proper communication. This could have been avoided if they had done their job correctly from day one. Instead, they delayed, mismanaged the repair, and left me with a totaled vehicle and zero trust in their abilities. If you care about your vehicle, your time, or your sanity, do not bring your car here. This shop is disorganized, irresponsible, and clearly unqualified to handle serious repairs. Worst experience I've ever had with a repair shop.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR CAR, DON'T COME THIS PLACE!!!!! A year ago I went to change the oil and inspection of my Tahoe and after they finish they bring the kisses to my work. When I was driving to my home, the Tahoe try to turn off and three days after I try to use my Tahoe and it turn off on 973 & 290 I was so scare because it turn off on the middle of the light! I was so blessed not have an accident because I was with my three little kids and a new born baby. I went to tell what happened to the owner of this place, but he said he was not responsible for that. The mechanic told me the transmission doesn't work because they put different oil in my Tahoe. Since August 2022 I have to use Uber and sometimes bus with my four kids thank you to this place!!!! read more

At the end of my service, the mechanic gave me recommendations for my car. I did not get any extra services since I was in a rush, but I appreciated that they took the time to check on my car more apart from the emission test. I have been coming to Mobil 1 since before I could drive, and my parents have always really liked this spot. I'm happy to see the service is still as great as when I was a kid.

I always use synthetic oil and WIX oil filters. One or more yelpers have already mentioned they use 3rd world oil filters, which I just don't trust. If I'm going to get an oil change, I'll use a dealership and pay a little extra to get it done right. That's especially true if you have an expensive import car like a Lexus or BMW. So why am I here? I came here to get my inspection (normally I use Koenig lane inspections, but I was in this area) and at the first and end of the month you can expect to sit in a line at one of their three bays. However, it's also likely that car in front of you is going to get an oil change, which means you'll be waiting for that as well. Apparently, there is not one line for inspections and another for oil changes. With one car in front of me getting an oil change, my total wait time was over 20 minutes. Inside the office, you'll see a list of other services they offer along with free popcorn for waiting. There's a tip jar on the counter if you think they did a good job. However, I think I'll stick with my original choice. Some informative photos included.
