Jerry was the only guy here running the shop by himself. He estimated for us to wait about 20 minutes but 5 minutes later he came out ready to service us. I was looking for a patch in my tire but he dunked my tire in a tub full of water that revealed that my tire had extended tears along the inside and it was time for a new tire. (This is for the auto-shop portion only, NOT THE TIRE SECTION) I must say, there is quite a bit of mistrust for customers in the auto industry. This place is an example of exactly why thats the case. This is our second time having to utilize the warranty for one of their parts (the first being the oxygen sensor) .The man at the front desk (i believe his name was rick) was rude and tried to swindle us out of our warranty. A warranty for a catalytic converter that they installed less than a year prior. An expensive part like that should last for years. He told us the cut off was an entire 2,000 miles less than what it actually was. Then when we arrived, he ignored us to keep chatting on the phone. Conversation was clearly not pressing nor business related. When we finally gained his attention he didn't even attempt to compare the milages before condescendingly saying that we weren't covered when we were. Exceptionally rude and unpleasant experience. I've given Duett's my business and my trust for 15 years and I am deeply disappointed to report that Rick, an employee there, scammed me. They all know I'm a teacher who has struggled with troublesome cars. He saw my relief when I finally was in a situation where I could afford a better vehicle and slyly suggested I purchase his daughter-in-law's car he was selling through Duett's, using my trust of the establishment to sell me a scam. Four short months later, three separate mechanics tell me the vehicle has timing AND transmission issues, and that there's absolutely no way Rick did not know the vehicle needed thousands of dollars of repair when he sold it to me. The insult to this injury? Rick can't even fix the issues to make this right. First he tried to blame other people, which all 3 mechanics told me was a lie, and then he told me Duett's doesn't fix these kinds of issues. If I could give 0 stars I would! came to get 4 tires and there was only one car already being assisted. they put my car on the lift and I sat there watching for an hour and half while the workers sat around laughing. it was very frustrating that I'm spending $320 while they do not take me nor their jobs seriously. I then proceeded to ask them why it's taking so long and they said it takes 45 min for tire change as If it already hasn't been over an hour and not one tire has been touched on my car. they are very unprofessional along with already charging $80 a tire for USED TIRES! this is why we go to corporate businesses and not small shops! read more

This is THE best place for inspections and car service. It seems like a well-kept secret, but I know that can't be the case, esp. judging by the line of cars I saw today awaiting inspection. Every time I go here, I am never disappointed, and always wowed, today being no exception.- So, a very well-known South ATX dealership told me after a routine oil change that my oil filter housing was leaking and needed replacing. (I had thought something may have been wrong, as I had seen some unidentified liquid dripping for a while and it seemed the maintenance light came on a bit earlier.) Anyhow, said dealership explained the "problem," gave me a quote (absolutely ridiculous), at which point I immediately declined their "service," grabbed my key and left. Months later, my oil maintenance light came on, so I took it to Duett's. Walking into the office we met Rick, friendly and attentive. I told him the issue and handed him my key. He told me what to expect and I let them do their thing. (I really appreciated that Duett's called me to ask more questions and explain what they were doing to "make sure" that IF something was wrong, they could identify it. They were very thorough.) The final synopsis (drumroll) ...absolutely *nothing* was wrong with my car. Not even a little bit wrong. The dye tests showed no leaks, but I did have a filthy air filter. (Did I mention that the same aforementioned dealership left an oversized paper offer to buy my car on the passenger seat before I left?) #NotCoolDealership...NotCool. #DuettsCameThrough! Loaded the boat up for a nice day at the lake, drove around the corner and noticed I had a very low tire after the truck didn't feel like it was driving right. Called these guys up, they were able to plug it right away and made sure every other tire on my rig was aired up properly. Nice folks and quick service. read more

You know how something happens and you immediately jump to the worst scenario? I had a slow leak in a tire and they're $$$$ tires, and it's Christmas time. Anyway I pulled into Duett's and I'm thinking I'm gonna need Uber to pick me up... What a great bunch of guys...like that personal touch you remember from back in the 1960's & 70's. When I need something handled, I don't like to waste a lot of time, I want to take my vehicle to a shop that can quickly diagnose this issue and then handle it for me and not charge me an arm and a leg because I'm a female. I had the worst experience with the automatic!! I trusted them by leaving my car with them over the weekend!! Worst mistake!! When they called me to let me know my car was ready, I when to pick it up the first thing I noticed was that my windows were open, the man that was there didn't let us drive it out of the garage he drove it out... Then he asked for the money then gave us the keys as soon as I got in my car I noticed that the console was all torn and I talked to the man the first thing he said it was like that then when you left it.. That made me so mad because I take good care of my car!! Then I notices that the color was different!! My car is gray from the inside and they changed the console to a black top!! My experience with Duett auto shop--called and got a labor quote to install a part which I ordered, was given a direct answer and brought my car in later that day. On arrival, got a friendly greeting at the desk, took my information, my keys, and immediately handed them to a short, balding, brown-haired mechanic named Jerry. As we were leaving the office prepared to hear a call back in a few hours, we see Jerry trying to use my Stratus keys to open a van that wasn't mine. We pointed my car out to him, and he sneers 'Oh THAT nightmare? I can't even believe you brought that thing in.' Unbelievable... It's a 2003 V6 3.0L coupe, I'm sure they see older, less costly, and more damaged vehicles every day. ...and an hour later I receive a call that my car is done and ready, without any word of it being a pain. My experience with Duett Tire Shop-- Fast forward to the following morning when I needed one tire and chose to trust their Tire Shop since it was the closest option. Parked my 'nightmare' adjacent to the tire place out of sight, jacked it up, and rolled the tire to them. I got there pretty early, about 9, but they already had a semi truck whose tires they were attempting to rotate off the rim. I waited patiently on their bench by the office, and whaddaya know. JERRY was the one in charge of the semi, and we had a front row seat to the sideshow act of this small man trying to pop giant semi tires off the rim with hand tools, just feet from the waiting bench. Lots of colorful language flowed from his mouth as he struggled, and when a tow truck rolled in, clearly with someone he knew driving it, the driver asks, 'You sure you know what you're doing??' He says yes, but seconds later, a more manager-type person pokes his head out of the office and says, 'You're putting those on wrong, Jerry..' So he then had to take off the tire he'd barely managed to get on the huge rim, and the one he'd just done.. An hour later when we were still waiting, little man was still struggling with the semi tires, office guy sees what's happening and takes it upon himself to get our new tire on the rim. Finally roll our tire back to the car, (tighten up the lugs by hand to avoid potential damage from their impact driver), and drove off the long way, directly in front of their tire shop bay. Jerry was still busy sweating over the semi tires, but that didn't keep him from looking up and dropping his jaw on the ground when my car rolled by and sped off in excellent running condition. Conclusion-- These guys will suffice if you're in a money pinch and need some labor done for cheap, and the Hispanic gentleman(seemed like a manager) at the desk and on the phone, was extremely polite and helpful. If you have a semi that needs tires, clearly best to go somewhere else! EDIT: A week later, I noticed the tire they sold me has a huge patch up against the sidewall. They didn't say anything about it when showing me the tire and now that I know about it, the manager-type person had been lingering in their office with my tire, and now it all makes sense why. I just noticed that some bonehead wrote a bad review of Duett's. I beg to differ. I've been a customer of Duett's since 2005. Have had numerous flats fixed there, purchased used tires, new tires - you name it. These guys work their butts off day in and day out in a car port exposed to the weather. They charge fair prices and do good work. Manor may be close to Austin but in spirit it is a rural community. If you have a flat that needs to be fixed or whatever - speak up when you get there. I get out of my car and say to anyone working outside, "I need a flat fixed how long? If there's an air compressor going off look one of the employees in the eye and raise your voice. Duett's is not a boutique tire shop. They don't serve espresso. They are usually busy because they are well respected here in Manor and Austin. If you want fair prices and the job done right by pros who know tires - the wait (which is never very long) is well worth your time. read more

New tires, used tires. In a bind. In a hurry. either way...I've never had a problem here. I have visited a good handful of times over the past 5 years for both new and used tires. I have never had an issue with the product, even used tires. In fact, when I want a used tire, I come here. Billy is always as nice as can be and helpful. For a local tire need... Duett's can hook you up. The only thing I don't like is: The only place to sit and wait is out in the dirty, smelly garage. It is hot. it stinks. It is dirty. My car wouldn't start after getting gas at a station a few blocks from Duett's. Battery died. I looked up the nearest auto shop and gave them a call. (I'm pregnant and had my 2 year old in the car so was worried about waiting in the hot sun). The guy I spoke with was really helpful and said although they don't have batteries in the store (they order them) he could help by sending a tech down to me to jump my car. The tech got to me in less than 10 minutes and got my car started. Thankfully I happened to be close by but still I really appreciated this quick help from Duett's. Awesome service. Worst service EVER! I noticed I had a nail in my tire on my way to work in South Austin from Taylor. I pulled over at the nearest tire place which was Duett's. I saw a few guys standing around smoking and one car in the shop. I wasn't sure where to go or who to talk to so I went inside. The guy inside told me to go outside and find someone. When I went back to the guys standing around, they interrupted me and said, "you're going to have to wait". I asked how long the wait was and he told me, "however long this takes" and laughed. Went in for 1 tire way low, I know cold weather makes tire pressure drop, but 1 tire was 5 lbs lower than the other 3. They removed tire and made a patch. After replacing tire back on truck, would not check remaining tires for proper pressure. So I went to a competitor and paid then to air up other tires, then when they checked the tire just repaired they found it over inflated. Worse service ever, will not return. read more

I've been coming here for over 30 years, but after today I won't be back. They used to have employees that could answer a basic question & treat all customers respectfully. Now, the only answer to any question is 'I don't know' as if they don't even understand the question. The guy behind the desk on the shop side can't even relay a mechanic's message. Most employees act as if customers are there & to be spoken to or helped at the convenience of the employee, regardless of wait time. I was walked by repeatedly. In fact, I had to interrupt after waiting 20 minutes. Then, all I got for an answer was 'I don't know'. I think Billy Duetts would be horrified that his customers are being treated this way... I lived and worked in Manor for 20 years. I used Duett's Tire and Auto services whenever I needed serious work done on my Toyota Avalon, and found that they were very competent and reasonable. They work on everything from passenger cars to farm tractors. I never had to take my car back for something they missed. The only drawback is the setting in a small country town, so if it's going to take a few hours, it's hard to find a way to pass the time, and hard to get someone to drop you off and pick you up. read more
