This little Thai restaurant is located in a small plaza in a residential area and from the outside you can see how modern and slick the interior is! The inside definitely has a nice vibe to it with all decor, lighting, furniture and etc. The restaurant can also seat ~24 people (they have 12, two person tables) and we didn't have to wait for a table when we went for dinner. The staff was very friendly and helpful; they were always checking in on us to how we were enjoying our meal. Even though the interior and decor is very modern, the dishes are as authentic as you can get - love how well they balance each other out! Drinks: -Thai Iced Tea: not too sweet and you could really taste the tea in it, which is fantastic since the sweetness usually overpowers it, but not here! Appetizers/Salads: -Homemade steamed pork dumplings: smaller than expected, but they weren't over or under-cooked. They were full of flavor, which is complemented well with the ginger sauce. (x)-Papaya salad (Som Tum): SPICY!!! A lot spicier than other Som Tum I've had so it started getting painful after a while. Flavors were fantastic, but the spiciness definitely overpowered the dish to the point where it became less and less enjoyable. So if you can really take spicy, then go for it, but if not, then I wouldn't recommend it. Entrees: -Pad See Ew w/ Duck: the flat rice noodles were perfectly cooked (I've never had these noodles cooked so well before!) and the sweet black bean sauce was the just the right balance of sweet and salty. The duck was also very well prepared, but their was an unusual amount of fat in the dish, which I wasn't a huge fan of, but overall a great dish! -Khao Soi: this curry-based noodle soup was very light and not as spicy as I expected. The delicious curry was definitely more soupy, which makes sense, and the thin noodles were cooked perfectly (they are noodle masters or something). Overall, very pleasant experience here and would give them 4-4.5 stars! Service, atmosphere, authenticity, dishes, and price were all on point! Super fresh, super fast, super clean. The yellow curry with shrimp and pineapple lunch special was authentic and the brown rice was on point. Their take out business is poppin. All ingredients are fresh and there's great care to keep the authenticity in each dish. Super impressive. Server was very attentive and did a great job explaining the differences in curry. She even noticed when I splashed sweet chili sauce on my sweatshirt and brought me extra napkins. Everything about this place is golden. Manow just opened in the Four Corners area. It's in a nice convenient location and offers a nice addition to the area. The outside and inside look much better than the area restaurants. I ordered takeout, but I would definitely feel comfortable dining in. The Pad See Ew w/chicken that I got was excellent. When I opened it, I sat there for a bit to soak in the nice aroma. The noodles had the right sticking power - a bit but not a single blob, the chicken was cooked well, and the Chinese broccoli was nice to have in it too. My only minor comment, and this is preference so not a negative by any means, was that the Pad Thai was very sweet and "wet", and I tend to like mine dry with less sauce used. I will give it another try and maybe ask them politely if they can make it more dry, Without hopefully coming across as rude, as it's near my home and was delicious, I just found myself thirsty afterwards and have eaten enough pad Thai by now that I know how I like it. The first time I came here, I ordered Pad Kee Mao and loved it! Then I came here again, only to order the exact same thing as it was that good. First of all, the Pad Kee Mao rice noodles were not stuck together which isn't an easy task if you've ever worked with rice noodles before. This is the only noodle dish with two peppers on the menu, indicating that it's quite spicy and the food did not disappoint. What I loved the most about the dish is that it balanced perfectly the aroma of basil with that spiciness which makes your nose run. The place is small and does smell mildly, but distinctively of fish sauce which isn't something everyone is fond of. I've had the opportunity to eat here several times since my wife and I moved into the area a month ago. We've tried the various noodles and entree dishes. I would say their best menu items are the pad thai and the pad grapow pork. The noodles are good such as the pad thai and pad see ew. The portions are smaller than other places I've gone to but it matches the reasonable pricing compared to other Thai places in Newton Centre area.
