We stopped here for lunch on a weekday - our first visit but it won't be our last. The place is small with just a few tables. Service was super quick and friendly. Food is amazing. Pad Thai and udon noodles are standouts, and my wife loves the dumplings. Not great for seating. A few small tables inside and out but not really meant for eating there. I think this place is built for takeout, as there is limited space in the building, I would call ahead to see if seating is available. We started off with the Golden Bags and they were nice and crispy on the outside and with tons of filling. My favorite dish of all was the Chili Duck, it was super crispy on the outside and just right on the inside, it is a must get! We also had the Spicy Tofu, Wild Boar Pork, Crispy Pad Thai, and a Beef Jungle Dish. I don't think you could go wrong with any dish here, and would definitely want to come back to try other dishes. We have been ordering from LeDu for years. They have legitimate Thai dishes with fresh ingredients and can be spicy if one asks. Some of our go to's are; tofu pad thai, beef kaprow noodles, basil fried rice with crispy chicken and mango salad. All very yummy!! We miss the pork belly kaprow, it was my favorite. I was around the area for Newtonville Village day and stopped by to get some Thai food for lunch. We ordered the pad Thai, drunken noodles and Thai tea for takeout. Food came out fast! The pad Thai and drunken noodles were delicious. I think one of the best I've had around the Boston area since Lemon Thai in Roxbury closed. The Thai tea was too sweet for me. I think it would be perfect if they reduced the sugar a little bit. I would love to go back and try all of their other dishes. Can't wait to eat food from here again! My only critique is that recently they have decreased their portion sizes because of inflation (which i totally understand). I've had my fair share of Thai food and I typically have a go to Thai restaurant that I always order from. I was a bit hesitant to try LeDu since I haven't heard of it before, but it was close to home so I decided to get take out and I'm glad I did! The food here was delicious and the portions were decent as well. I ordered the crispy chicken pad Thai, the massaman curry and the red curry with beef. The chicken was still crispy by the time I got home and ate my dish and the pad Thai noodles were great. It would be nice to have some type of dipping sauce for the crispy chicken to give it a bit more flavor. The massaman curry and red curry both had great flavor as well. My only complaint is that the amount of rice that comes with the red curry wasn't enough. I still had half my red curry remaining without any rice left. Even though I didn't have enough rice, I'm glad they don't skimp out on the actual dish! read more

Not a good value. We ordered 2 dishes and 1 appetizer, all were very small portion. Salmon and avocado roll - $8 for only 2 rolls. I bit into it and could not find any salmon and avocado, i thought they gave me a wrong order.. I took another bite, i saw few piecs of tiny salmon crumbs, and just a little spot of green, I think that was avocado. Barely had any salmon and avocado, couldn't even taste any of them. 98% of the stuffing were vermicelli and carrot. Tom yum tofu noodle soup - $13 only one pint of soup, small amount of rice noodle, and around 10 pieces of small tofu cubes.. The soup was just seasoning mixture, didn't taste like real tom yum soup. KaNa - this is the first time to see such a tiny takeaway box for rice, not much flavor, just stir fry veggie with chicken. I won't go again. read more

This place has both abysmal quality and false advertising. I paid extra for beef in my drunken noodles and received fatty ground beef instead. My husband's chicken in LeDu noodles also didn't taste fresh and was extremely dry. Apparently it tasted like days old Pai Thai repackaged. Really disappointed with the massaman curry. For $18, it contained tons of almost-raw onions, lots of carrots and exactly 2 little pieces of sweet potato in a watery sauce that was just meh. I tried LeDu for the first time today. As always, when I try a new Thai restaurant, I ordered the Pad See You. The lunch special came with 2 choices. I got two sides of veggie spring rolls. Everything was excellent the sauce with the noodles was light and flavorful. The noodles were perfect. The broccoli included the leaves, which added great texture. Have ordered the Tom Yum Soup ( $ 5.50-- once in house and several times as take out. Excellent. This week after an exhausting day w/ appointments, I ordered that again-- (excellent).. and the Bangkok Noodle Soup w/ seafood-- $ 16.96--- as take out. When I got home-- a 5 minute drive-- the Noodle soup was an unedible mass of tasteless noodles-- all stuck together. Noodles in a black rectangular container and some both in a plastic large container. While I enjoyed the Tom Yum Soup, the Bangkok dish was a huge disappointment. The following day I returned with the containers of Bangkok Noodles & take out bag with stapled receipt attached. I expected an apology for the noodles and would have been happy w/ a Tom Yum Soup to go. Instead... I was berated about bringing in a product from yesterday.. which was still a blob of concealed noodles. The staff (2) -- which confronted me clearly were clueless. We have been getting LeDu once a month for the past 3+ years, and it has always been great! We get takeout and it is always ready quickly (and aligned with when they tell us our order will be ready). Solid Thai restaurant in Newtonville. I went there to dine in and there are only 2 small indoor tables and 2 small tables outdoor: This restaurant seemed like a primarily take out and app delivery restaurant as I saw many delivery drivers line up to grab food and the woman who took our in person orders was on the phone also taking orders. I got the pad Thai with crispy chicken, it's very delicious pad Thai, I think as good as any other pad Thai I've had in the Boston area, the crispy chicken they give you is also quite generous. I really enjoyed the pad Thai . I asked for it to be spicy and it was the perfect spicy level . I loved the dumplings! The spring rolls weren't my Favorite but I still enjoyed them. I ate all of the pad Thai - I over ate . Totally satisfied . It's not super greasy and probably one of the best pad thai's I've had . I can't wait to come back to try more items from the menu. Love their pad see ew (chicken was better than beef - which was a little chewy). The ginger stir fry is great, as is the Krapow spicy basil ground pork (beware it's spicy even if you ask for it mild). Since my previous review, I've now had the chance to try many more dishes from LeDu - Kao Soi Chicken, Hot Basil Fried Rice, Pad See Ew, and Pad Kee Mao, to name a few - and I've been totally impressed with each and every one. It's clear this shop cares and takes pride in putting out great food. And, I've also tried my other favorite, local Thai restaurant so I could better compare dishes.
