bakery outside. The person at the register here liked my PRIDE colored Apple Watch band so I gave her a flyer to come celebrate with us.

Location and Ambiance Manresa Bread, is located in the lively square that has coffee, shops, breweries, restaurants, wine, tasting, and now empanadas thanks to Fonda Felix. This bakery exuded warmth and charm when I noticed it from the street. The aroma of freshly baked bread greets you as you step inside, creating an inviting atmosphere. Vegan Bread Selection: As a vegan, I was thrilled to discover that all of Manresa Bread's baked gluten offerings are confirmed vegan. Their baguettes, in particular, are yum!. The crunchiness of the crust and the tender inside dough texture were spot-on. It's evident that they take pride in their craft. Technique: Bring some prepared, guacamole or slices of avocado if you intend to eat such as the square with 11th hour coffee in front of Santa Cruz yoga. But better yet, take the back at home, it up with some vegan spread or ideally with fresh cracked salt and pepper all over it and a few dollops of hot sauce. Can't go wrong. ### New offerings? I'm a fan of the seeded baguette at Companion Bakery but they often run out of them by midmorning and they're also closed on Monday. I have a suggestion: How about introducing a seeded baguette with poppyseeds, sesame seeds, or other nuts on the outside at Manressa? It would add a delightful twist and cater to those who crave variety. ### Early Bird Gets the Warm Bread Manresa Bread tends to sell out and close early. I recommend arriving early , before the crack of noon to have the best selection. If you get there early for a small charge, they'll put extra gluten on your gluten! You can then get your bread and pop into 11th hour or verve coffee, which are both very short walks from this bakery and enjoy your gluten. ### Final Thoughts In summary, Manresa Bread is a gem for vegans. I wholeheartedly give it five stars and look forward to new vegan surprises on their menu.

Flashback to my venture @manresabread in Santa Cruz, located at 330 Ingalls St.. They have a few locations but this is the only one I know of in Santa Cruz. Manresa provides all the Verve Coffee locations with their delicious pastries. At this location in Santa Cruz, they sell both their breads and savory/sweet pastries, not coffee. No problem, @vervecoffee was right down the street. I bought an almond croissant, a tremendous chocolate soufflé, and a coffee glazed croissant that sells out with a quickness!! They often sell out of items, so get there early. Everything was great and they mill their own flour! You can taste the difference. Perfect for chilly coastal mornings. It's located in an awesome business district with multiple coffee/wine spots, SC Mountain Brewery, and small spots to eat at. Shekkitout.

During our vacation in Santa Cruz, we made a point to visit as many shops as we could within walking distance of the parking lot. Manresa Bread was a place we needed to check out. When it comes to bakeries, Joe K and I love the smells and freshness of a working bakery. This place had a nice selection of baked goods, but we especially came for the bread. Our plan was to break bread and drink wine back at our hotel. It has an amazing view and the thought of a small family gathering overlooking the beach seemed like a special way to get together. We purchased a loaf of wheat sourdough bread and a few other snacks. The shop has several varieties of flavors making choosing difficult. But Joe can only handle sourdoughs and we all love sourdough anyways! This bakery worked well into our plans and we were glad we stopped by! They are a bit pricey, but everything in Santa Cruz seems to be!

Such good bread!

This review is based on one amazing loaf of bread, it was so delicious, as good as my local (if not slightly better) bakery in Berkeley, that I had to make sure to Yelp it. Amazing texture, great even the next day, still moist and amazing toasted.

I love Manresa bread and been for long time. I been noticing this for some time now. Sunday and Monday batch is questionable. Taste more like day old Levain bread. My brother went in for me this morning and at the wee hours croissants and other pastries are sold out. Yes Levain taste like day old and paid a full price. Manresa what happen to your passion and quality control, please make it better.

Really good baked goods, outlandishly overpriced. $70 for a Panettone...... $10 for a loaf of bread (plus taxes plus tip)

The line can get long on weekends but unlike neighboring coffee shops, it seems to move quickly and food comes out faster. Order pastries and bread at the glass case and coffee and breakfast at the registers. Coffee comes out by exit door while food comes out from the kitchen in the middle. The coffee is well balanced. Not sure whose they use but syrups are made in house. Breakfast sandwich looks small but is quite hearty and filling. You can add avocado, bacon, and aioli. This is a go to. West side avocado toast: adds garlic aioli, avocado, and poached egg to the Aptos version. Defn better Pesto goat cheese baguette: three letter review -- OMG Kouign Amann: this one is square, rather than classic round, and a little denser but still layered and not overly sweet. GF brownie: quite good for gluten free but sweeter than I like. Bacon egg galette: the puff pastry is nicely flaky with onions and crispy bacon. Messy but good. The premade sandwiches are all tasty and much better than you get in a grocery store. Customer service is a little hit and miss, based on personalities. There's plenty of seating inside and out.

I got a number from the ticket machine. Holiday weekend, so bit of a wait but I think the system worked well. I am curious why it took so long since we had a dedicated worker bagging our stuff. But good things come to those who wait: Garlic twist. 5/5. Would get this again. Simple but amazing taste and texture. Could eat all day. Quiche. 4/5. Not the best quiche I've had ever had but solid. I appreciated it being on the small side since I had so many other things to try. I got tomato and spinach and wish the tomato taste came through a bit more. Would get again. Key lime pie. 4/5. Tasted fresh and had a smooth texture with the right amount of tartness. Strawberry shortcake cookie. 4/5. Like a soft scone. More intense strawberry flavor than expected. Banana tart. 4/5. Could be stronger banana flavor. Maybe if they brûléed a banana on it. Good crust texture. Impressive how everything I tried tasted good considering their extensive menu. Will try the masala chicken salad sandwich, cheddar biscuit, and chive scone next time. I loved how it was old school, well priced, well portioned, and not too precious. Staff make themselves available. There are first come first served tables to nab. Parking spots were not as easy to get when arriving but if you go straight for neighborhood parking you'll find something.

Was visiting family and wanted to buy a little something as a gift…read more Called Gayle's the morning of and ordered 4 of their pastries. The process was quick and easy. The menu is available online and they take same day orders via phone. Pickup was a little hectic as there were a lot of people in the bakery. I waited in line for a ticket and then waited for my number to be called, but found out that I could have just walked to the end of the bakery to pickup at the counter in the corner. I would probably add a sign to make it a little more obvious for those new to the bakery, nonetheless the pastries were amazing and nothing else matters. Everything was sweet but balanced with acidity or nuttiness. Great mix of textures and the crust does not fall apart even after a whole day in the fridge and being manhandled into cut portions. I'd highly recommend this place for out-of-towners, as those that live there already know it's the best.
